The Dark Academy on Korriban

Not wasting the opportunity since the Academy brought them up to the station, Remmington decides to check out the marketplace to see if he can get some things.

"Hey while we are here we should get some real food afterward." He says full of delight at the prospect of having something other than nutrient paste today.

"I was lucky to eat proper food last night when I got into the diner party being held at the Academy." She replies as she walks holding the arm of the warrior stepping down from the transport. "But that's only opened up my appetite to flavors again, so let's get something decent."

"You think we will find anything of use here?"

"You managed to get into the party? You are truly a woman of many surprises Niriti." Remmington is genuinely surprised and smiles and the beautiful woman beside him.

"I sure hope so. It looks like we're going to have to get started building our sabers soon. So let's look for parts. I also want to pick up a datapad as well."

"Well if it isn't my good friends from the Academy!" The large red form of Jo'ren Rath approached Remmington and Niriti, nodding to them both and smiling.

"Shopping trip huh? Maybe the prices will be less crazy than down at the spaceport..." He stopped to look at some power converters.

Remmington offers a polite bow to Jo'ren. "Morning Acolyte Rath. I hope you slept well."

With a nod. "That's right. Were you also looking for saber parts? How fares your search? Are they prices that bad on the planet?" He asks.

"I slept like a man who'd just been sedated and then given a shitload of painkillers. So, pretty great thanks!" The expression on the big guy's face was very hard to read...

"Actually I got a really great deal on parts, but I might need a few more. You never know, right?" He took another look at the converters and then moved on to other bits of equipment. Power regulators, hydrospanners, and so on. "How are you two?"

"I have been pretty good. I was planning on searching through the station planet side to see what parts I could salvage but did not have much luck there. Neither in the Near Wastes. Where did you find your parts?" Remmington asks.

"Oh there was a place planet-side that was practically giving them away! Probably why the prices are so high now, you know? Supply and demand." He looked around at the tables of wares to see if anything caught his eye.

"Oh there is? Where is that and what is the name of the store?" Remmington asks.

Jo'ren gave Remington a pat on the back. "Actually I was messing with you man. They jack up the prices as soon as graduation time starts to roll around. You're better off just buying here."

"A woman must have her own weapons, Remmy, specially when her physique is so frail, and damsel like." She gave him a wink as she looked about in the stores of the station. "Now let's look for those parts that you needed."



Niriti stood aside waiting for the pair to decide who was the Alpha macho as she gazed through the things on the stand. She had an idea of what she wanted, and she had accompanied Remmy to the station so that they both could get what they both needed, but it was always easier to make a deal for 2 than for 3.

"Seems you have all you need. Why come back to the station? Did you forget to buy anything else?" She inquired with modest curiosity.

(Not sure what the Difficulty of the Negotiation roll would be for the hilts to be reduced priced.)

"Nope, but you never know when extra parts are going to come in handy. I might want to build two 'sabers anyway. Or heavily customise." He shrugged. "Plus hey, if there's a sale on..."

Remmington nods and looks over the merchandise. He picks out a datapad as well as parts for a lightsaber hilt and possibly any other lightsaber parts he can find. "I guess I'll go with this. I'll leave the sweet talking to you Niriti." He flashes her a confident smile.

He gives Jo'ren a nod. "Lightsabers are very personal things. I can see your wisdom getting extra parts to play around with."

Niriti picks up a piece of technology, whatever it is, she is not very aware of it, and the way she holds it also informs the other two that she has no idea of it. "Well I have a little notion of technology, so maybe you can explain to me what it means all that about customizing a lightsaber. I've heard about it before, but I just find it very basic." She set back the part down on the counter, and turned to Jo'ren. "Is it like having it in one color or another?"

Remmington decides to let Jo'ren answer first since Niriti is currently directing the question at him.

The big red guy smiles at her question, and nods at the parts Rem has collected.

"A lightsaber is far more than just the crystal, although without one you have no 'saber. Since everyone is a slightly different build..." He loomed slightly, towering about Niriti. "...we each have a different need in terms of grip, angle, weight, etc. So while you could, for example, just use a lightsaber you found, it would never be quite as good as one you made to your own specifications. Over time you may decide to add additional grip, or swap in a new crystal, or something like that. It's your weapon, so it will probably reflect your personality in some way."

Parts to make a hilt will cost about 320 credits per person for a single hilt (300 credits worth).

OOC: Negotiation roll is 2 challenge dice, spend a Destiny to upgrade that so 2 Challenge and 1 Difficulty die total. 1 Setback because they recognize students and know what they need.

"What about for those of us who don't know about mechanics?" She replied as she allowed his towering presence to shadow over her. Niriti ignored his intimidating presence and allowed her beauty to brighten in the darkness of his shadow, her eyes becoming mystical mirrors in which the true sith and the human could wonder. Like a deep lake in a hidden cavern of darkness.

Niriti looked towards the parts that Remmington had picked out from the stand. "320 credits for this?" she pondered and looked at the salesman... it could be a tough bargain.

"Take it or leave it," he says with a shrug.

"Find a friend who does? Or just buy one off the shelf." He shrugged, looking into the deceptive and pretty eyes. "Might not matter for you. For me, I need to get the feel of it right."

"You can always rely on someone with knowledge of mechanics." Remmington says with a smile.

Niriti takes the hilt and accepts the deal, leaving her with much less cash that she would care for, but with the future of a lightsaber instead.

Remmington looks over to Niriti. "Is it alright to leave it at that?"

Niriti hands the hilt to Remmington. "I trust you can make this into an outstanding weapon for me." She agrees as she is not an able person in mechanics, and has learned of him to be so.

Remington smiles as he accepts the parts. "Of course. You can rely on me to make the best weapon for you."
