The Dark Academy on Korriban

After the grueling morning she had, Kristal had one thing on her mind. Well, two. First and foremost however was the shower she required to get the grime off and feel whole again. In between states of dress Kristal sat down, alone in her room for the moment, with no rush toward the rest of her day.

That was where she laid it out, the lightsaber hilt and the replacement parts. Along with the Blue Crystal itself. Unfortunately, no matter how much she tried she just couldn't get it to go together right. Failing in her attempts to piece it together. Blowing air out from her bottom lip over her face she leaned forward in exasperation after the long process of the attempt.

This wasn't working.

[Destiny Used, do I lose the parts?]

OOC: Kristal salvages the parts, no loss.

Moving it all aside Kristal sought her communicator, placing it at the center of the cluttered desk. Tuning it to her intended recipient she put through the call. Waiting, as always, for the image to spark to life before actually speaking.

Waiting for the connection to go through Kristal crossed her arms one over the other. Not quite dressed yet, as she almost always seemed to be when she spent time alone in her room.

The image of Shaisha flickered online as the call was accepted. Unlike Kristal, she was fully dressed, wearing her usual robes.

"Kris? Is everything alright?" She sounded concerned, perhaps because everyone was on edge after last night's news.

"Everything is fine," she said, waylaying some of the concerns perhaps.

"It seems in failing in my attempts to busy myself I turn next to seeking someone I can speak with," she offers after that. Raising her head Kristal appears simply tired, already.

Shaisha took a moment to push an earlier conversation this morning from her mind.

"Of course. You know you can talk to me. I'm not as suave as Syl, but I'm here if you need someone who can listen."

Pushing her hair up, out of her face before just letting it fall back down practically where it was in the first place.

"Neither of us could hope to be such, it's a special talent he has... but I can't exactly speak to him about this," she said, keeping her hands busy by doing a bit of cleanup as they spoke. Not that the hologram picked up anything but the motion of it all.

"I'm not convinced of the discovery last night. I am a Serasai, we are built different... it just doesn't make sense."

Kristal was intentionally vague, knowing full well with their upbringing just how monitored these conversations were. Normally she might not speak of it at all but there was a need there. As much as she couldn't believe it true, she couldn't deny the possibility. It was... frustratingly uncertain.

"..."

Shaisha sighed.

"Our parents are rarely who we want them to be. Who your father is for you, as your father, is not nescessarily who he is when he is the Moff. Rarely does a Moff rise to power without the backing of a Sith lord."

She cast a glance to the side, as if making sure that no one were eavesdropping.

"When I was a child, before coming to live with the Torsins, my memories of my own father are mostly good. I didn't see him often, as my parents never married, but I have fond memories of that time. Then my mother died, and everything was different. I don't see him often, but the times I do, he is nothing like what he was back then."

"Just a few years could not possibly change him so..." she said, neglecting the fact that most of their conversations over the course of her life were over Holo-com. Nothing could be sure, and yet she was so sure.

"No, it doesn't make sense... it's too perfect, can't you feel it?"

"... Do you think someone could have attempted to frame him?" she asked calmly.

"It is as possible to me as it is that he is actually the traitor the evidence points him out to be," Kristal states with conviction. Even making a strong front as she did so, looking straight to the communicator.

Kristal didn't hold it for long, moving right back to finishing up. Stepping away from it her image grew smaller, Kristal saw to finding her usual attire. Tough clothing that would hold up to the day to day of Korriban. Well, maybe not her day to day.

"It is not impossible, no," she agreed, "though I'm curious as to what the motive would be. Entertaining the thought that the suspect is the you-know-who."

"Two great men have died in just as many days.." Kristal said, almost letting a bit of defeat encroach on her tone. "My father wasn't a man who coveted power. I see no motive no matter how I look at this situation... it just doesn't make sense."

It was likely the weakest she had ever been seen.

"I have no clue... not one... my studies, becoming a Sith have been my single goal. My father was a Serasai. I am a Serasai. We focused on where our efforts could do well. Not this."

Kristal dropped to silence for a few seconds, all she would need. Trained from birth as a Soldier, like every Serasai, it took her mere moments to complete such simple tasks as clothing herself. There was no nonsense to it. Simple and done. Looking as best as she could she turned back to the holo-recording.

"I do not care who it was either, if I learn of my fathers innocence the one's responsible for this frame will pay severely."

There wasn't a moment of wavering. It was cold, it was true. Kristal was sure of that to her core.

Of course, if it was true and her father truly was a traitor... well, then the Serasai line may as well have die with him as far as she was concerned.

"It wasn't his father who schemed to murder mine, if anything I would be concerned that Syl thinks I might have some hand in this... hate me himself, or worse, not be able to trust me."

"Aramis Torsin and my father were close, closer than close. I cannot allow more family to be lost. Nothing will come between any of us," Kristal said as she picked up the Holo-com and brought it with her as she started to collect a last few things. Kristal went silent for a few moments before something more came over.

"Despite it all... I still can't bring myself to call my father."

"The heaviest burden there is..."

Which by the mere acknowledgement of it meant Kristal felt it was more than worth it.

"I worry for anything that Sylvain might plan that would not include us in it. Whatever he isn't comfortable sharing with us is nothing I want to learn of after the fact."

"For my father... I promised myself I would only speak to him next when I earned it. I have yet to earn it. Even more important to keep to that in light of this."

"I am not Sith yet," she answers cooly. It was a rather atypical Kristal response, as likely expected. "Student who killed a Jedi is still a Student."

"I am ready to accept it a lot less than I thought," she admits, "It doesn't feel quite right, not knowing exactly what Sylvain plans... I worry. I trust him, but I worry. If I am to be decidedly open about it. We will have to be ready for the moment he needs us then. Until then, our own battles. Mine includes an Overseer and yours..."

Kristal raised a brow, wondering if Shaisha perhaps had a thought. "Well, it appears your future is your battle for now. Knowing you that will be a simple task. Creating your own future has always come naturally. Whatever future you decide to mold will be fitting."

Of that, and Shaisha's ability, Kristal had no doubt.

Kristal's movement stopped as she leaned up against a wall, not that the Holo showed much. Resting just beside the door in her room.

"No, no, nothing so simple," she smirked. "If it comes to it I will have no qualms but if I can merely destroy her in another method that would be preferred. A warrior's death is too good for a snake like her."

Kristal smiled at that, "To see that would make it worth the attempt on my life."

It really was a good picture. Knowing Rona, that would likely end up in her coming up with some other convoluted plot to kill all of her enemies.

"The more we know of our enemies the better," she said, seeming to try and imply the need to know more about Rona herself.
