“I served the Light… it is peace and serenity. It is weak. The Dark Side is passion and darker emotions that fuel change. Jedi seek to suppress their emotions and live in stillness, they deny themselves that which grants them power. I see no reason to suppress my emotions, I draw on them and give strength to my actions,” he said calmly.

Well, it wasn't as if she could picture herself being... you know, not angry all the time.

"I've never actually met a Jedi. Light side's never done much for me, I guess."

“They are filled with self-righteous sacrifice,” he said disdainfully.

“They sacrifice everything for nothing.”

"That why you left them and came here?"

“I got tired of sacrificing everything for nothing, for having my hands tied by old masters with no idea of what really is going on the larger galaxy. The Republic breeds weakness, I spent fifteen years of my life dedicated to preserving it. It did not warrant my devotion, in the end it was a thing that did not deserve my saving or my devotion,” he said with scorn.

“Instead I chose to serve myself.”

"These people are all talking about serving the empire though. Not themselves."

Though they serve themselves too, probably.

"I know nothing of this Empire," he said disdainfully.

"I'm not really up on the politics and history. I think there was a big war between the empire and republic a long time ago and the republic won. But that's ancient history. Then there was some big jedi called Revan or something or another, and he became a Sith and brought war against the republic. And now they're still at war. I don't know. I've not had a lot of reason to know more before now."

"Names change, politics stays the same," he said bitterly.

"I guess," she said. "You didn't like politics back then either, huh? Must've had to deal with some, being part of the first sith and all."

“I did,” he said flatly.

“We were not Sith like you wish to be, I am not sure if I was ever Sith. I was simply free and that was enough.”

"Who said I wanted to be sith? That's just the only way for me to not end up dead."

“You are truly the flesh of my flesh,” he says with a dark smile.

“I cannot linger here. May the Force make you strong.”

"Yeah," she said, leaning back against the wall while the ghost dissipated.
