The Dark Academy on Korriban

Jo'ren nodded in response.

"One hour. If there was a record I believe I set a new one. In any case, we True Sith proved ourselves more than up to the task."

He lowered the training blade and moved closer. "You have a strong defense. Which style are you learning?". The forms were different to the ones Jo'ren had learned, although they shared several techniques.

He lowers his saber then as well, and deactivates it.

"My training has bee in the style of Niman. And what of yourself, Jo'ren? Any particular style you study or seek to study?"

Jo'ren nodded and thought back to his lessons. "Niman. Yes, telekinesis and a solid defense, very effective. As for myself, I study the forms of Shii-Cho. From that foundation I may expand my knowledge to other styles in time."

He glanced around the training area. "I have been looking forward to graduation, it is good to be back on Korriban."

His eyes follow where the other sith glimpses.

"This is my first time on the planet of our ancestors, and I'm rather looking forward to seeing what may occur during my time here. What secrets of our history might be revealed."

He smiles somewhat, "I suspect that'll involve some tomb hunting at some point."

"And what of yourself, Jo'ren? Any particular plans or aspirations while on planet other than graduation?"

"Ah, I had thought that you might have visited before, what with your own impressive heritage." He considered the other Aspirant's words. "This planet holds many secrets, and guards them jealously."

The smile was reflected in Jo'ren's eyes and returned in the form of a wide grin.

"Tomb hunting is almost certainly on the cards. What's the point of building tombs full of treasures if not to encourage their exploration. Of course, plenty who enter never leave again."

"For myself? Other than attaining limitless power and making alliances that will last long after we have left this place behind... Finding a worthy Lord to serve for a time I suppose."

"Admittedly, I've rarely visited the prestigious planets of our great Empire. My father's duties involve travelling to distant planets and subjugating them to expand the power and influence of the Empire, so I find myself largely following. As an advantage, it has exposed me to a number of interesting alien races, and all manner of how to deal with them."

After a moment's consideration, he continues, "Well, if many who enter never leave again, we'll simply have to make sure that we are not counted amongst those numbers, no?"

That raised an eyebrow. "Hmm, sounds like quite the education. Good preparation for becoming a Lord by the sounds of it."

He nodded emphatically at the second part. "Indeed. Preparation will be key. There is power to be had, but caution will be needed.". He smiled at that. "It isn't my strongest aspect, but we all change."

He actually chuckles at that, "Indeed. I suspect we all will be changing much upon this planet."

He considers the other sith for a moment.

Brave, athletic and presumably combat capable... Perhaps useful in those areas I am less accustomed to.

"You spoke earlier of forming alliances for after graduation, and were quite right about seeking to do so. Perhaps we will find each others' skillsets quite helpful in the coming days, to a mutual benefit." He smiles a bit then, "caution and discipline are two of the primary focuses of those following the path of Niman, after all."

There was a knowing smile.

"It doesn't hurt that we're from respectable families, and species, either. The thought did cross my mind when we meet on the ship."

A firm nod followed. "To our mutual benefit then." He raised the training saber in salute.

"So, what of our fellow aspirants? Have any impressed you with their skills...or lack thereof?"

He shrugs, "Not really. I hear the other of our species made it back around the same time I did, so she at least has some capability in the wilderness. And there's a slave girl who will likely pose an annoyance along the way. Have any caught your eye thus far?"

"Well then, good to see our heritage proving its worth as usual." He frowned at the slave girl comment. "An annoying slave girl? How so? As for others...well, I have met one or two who may prove useful. I shared a room with a very red-skinned Zabrak, who claims a heritage with House Distraacht. Former Mercenaries who proved themselves worthy. One to keep an eye on."
