Combat Exam Event Type: Mandatory Participants: All Timeslots: Late Morning to Mid Afternoon. Reputation Affected: Yes Description: This event is broken up into three separate events that comprise the whole event. The three events are Combat Exam, Knowledge Exam, and Force Exam; these exams are each off three times in the day one in the Late Morning, one in the Early Afternoon and one in the Mid Afternoon time slot. Exams in the Late Morning time slot have a Difficulty of Easy. Exams in the Early Afternoon have a difficulty of Average, and the Exams in Mid Afternoon are Hard difficulty. There are two rolls made per time slot. Each exam has a different set of rolls to be made. Players must complete all rolls. Options for skills: Lightsaber is mandatory for one of the two Combat skills, Gunnery is not acceptable as a combat skill. You can not do any skill more than once. You need a success on the roll for it to count and that grants an Exam point. If a Triumph is rolled that is also a success on the Lightsaber roll it counts as two Exam points. Any threat rolled is taken as Strain damage. A Despair turns strain damage into wounds at a minimum of 1 wound. If a Triumph is rolled for a non-Lightsaber skill it is a success even if it would normally fail, it has no added bonus if the roll is success. |

Now for the Finale, after all of her Success during the first two trials Kristal could not falter here. This was where so much of her training had gone to; becoming an elite warrior without par. Perhaps, even a leader if she was lucky. Now was the time. Set up against another Acolyte for her first trial it was a might on might show of strength. They were given no weapons and the simple instruction to incapacitate the other. Both went to it without a care. Seeing this as a mere test they were both relaxed without the stakes being too high. Kristal's victory was assured against an opponent of this caliber. However, it wasn't so much of a difference that Kristal felt belittled by it. Those who wished to support her seemed to know well enough to keep it interesting for the budding Sith. It was the second test that revealed things. They were to them battle with the practice blades afforded them, to the death. For the Sith could not waste their time on those unworthy, only the best. It unsettled the other Acolyte, he never saw this coming so early despite their initial experience upon arrival. Pitting students against each other so directly? It seemed completely out of nowhere for the poor young man. Kristal would never know his name, nor would she truly care. For he was merely her opponent and as such she would give him a proper death. In fact, she even offered him the chance to collect himself before she began. Giving him all the chance in the world to man up and prove himself a warrior. It did not make a difference. As the hours dragged on, Shaisha felt convinced that someone was working behind the scenes to make her fail today. As she waited for the teacher to call her up for the final testing in combat, she almost expected to see her sire walk into view in talk with the overseers. Her turn came, and she felt her hopes dashed a little as she saw the size of her opponent. Even more when asked to compete in close-quarters fighting. The man was easily over six feet high, and twice as wide as her. His hands probably big enough to reach eachother if her put them on her waist. They circled eachother, and her large opponent easily closed the distance between them. At least she got in a lucky shot aimed below the belt before he could capitalize on it quickly, but he recovered faster than she expected and soon enough he wrestled her into the ground with ease. The teacher broke up the fight, and instructed them both to pick up their training sabers for the last test. This. This is my speciality. Once more, the two circled eachother, but this time, Shaisha was prepared to face her mucher larger opponent. It seemed as if she had learned to use her smaller frame as an advantage when fighting larger opponents while wielding a saber, as well as cleverly utilizing feints to throw her opponent off his game, and each time he fell for it he was punished with hard placed blows to his weak points. As they continued, she felt her wrath build up; all the frustration she had endured today bubbling to the surface as she let them out on this opponent who had already humiliated her once. It wasn't until the teacher called for it to stop that she realised that he had yielded. Battered and bruised, the loser limped away. --- D2 EVENT. MA. Combat. Finally, he thought. Time to show them I'm a proficient killer. He was handed a training saber and had to leave his sword out of the ring, but that mattered little to him. He knew what he was doing. As the opponent moved in time and again, he found his own saber sent away follwed by the sting of Zeno's strike. Or dodged completely only to find Zeno behind them and zapping them once more. When his opponent was laying on the ground unconscious it was clear who the winner was, having not being hit once. The pistols however, were another story entirely. Not that he didn't win like he expected to, but he got his fair share of knocks as well. Though when all was said and done he was definitely the one still standing. He returned the weapons, took his sword back and stepped off the field. He had definitely shown himself to be worthy of the school today. Lightsaber 2 successes, 1 advantage Ranged (Light) 1 success, 3 threat, 3 strain taken |

This was it, the final pair of exams and the one he had been most looking forward to: lightsaber dueling. Well. Training saber dueling, let's not get too carried away... It would prove to be a massive disappointment for Jo'ren as his opponent resolutely failed to throw the match or give him any openings. He actually handled himself rather well against the ultra defensive style of his enemy, though in the end a draw was declared. Jo'ren was seething. As his rage built he picked unarmed combat and faced the same opponent. This time it was a very different story, and as the bell sounded he had to be dragged off the battered and bleeding body. That one would be spending the next week in a bacta tank. Realising that he had performed much better across the whole event than he had expected, the rage slowly subsided into an acceptable level of arrogance and he took his place to watch the final few aspirants compete. --------------- D2. Remmington waits his turn for the combat exam. He shows his surprising prowess at unarmed combat and takes down his target. His lightsaber skills on the other hand are something to be desired. Overall though he made a good showing. Brawl (Brawn) 3eA+3eD = 3 successes, 2 threat +1 Exam Point, +2 Strain Lightsaber (Brawn) 1eA+2eP+3eD+1eS = 0 successes, 1 Threat +1 Strain +1 Graduation Point, Triumph Success Not sure if it matters but 4 Exam Points |

Xevine accepted the trainig saber, and started with a flourish. She then deftly parried an imaginary foe, and then struck "them" down with a counter attack. Next, she gave the saber back, and started punching in the air, with fierce uppercuts, gut shots, and even a poke in the eyes. There was only honor in the killing, after all. #1: D2 MA Combat Orientation, Lightsaber (Brawl) +1 Setback die from Reputation: 2eA+1eP+3eD+1eS 3 successes, 1 threat, 1 Triumph #2: D2 MA Combat Orientation, Brawl (Brawn), +1 Destiny used to upgrade one A dice to P, +1 setback die from reputation: 2eA+1eP+3eD+1eS 1 success |
