Overseer Thaine was not up this early, that was crazy talk but Ensign Veers is there. When the students arrive she has them get buckets and get to scrubbing the fifty meter long Wall of Pace. She sighs as she watches, but orders were orders and she was learning that as long as she did what was asked, the scrutiny on her was greatly lessened.

So she complied, to better fit in.

She didn't really want to, and had given serious consideration to just blowing the whole thing off. But Thaine would probably use that against her somehow, so here Layne was.

"Huh? Where's Thaine?" she demanded to know of the woman who'd apparently been left in charge.

Layne had no idea who Veers was; and certainly didn't have any idea that Veers wasn't really Veers anyhow. She had no way of knowing that the lightsaber at her side might get recognized by the ancient ghost within.

She raises a brow at Layne and says in typical Imperial fashion, “I am Ensign Veers, Overseer Thaine has assigned me to the task of overseeing the cleaning of the Wall of Peace.”

The wall itself is a gray slab of stone stained with blood and worse from all the students that have been pinned to it.

"So she can't even be bothered to show up herself," she said dismissively as she looked at the wall. She'd cleaned worse in her time.

Ensign Veers shrugs, “It’s not my place to say, aspirant. Best you get to it.”

"But it *is* your place to tell her if we just skip out on this, right?" she crossed her arms, obviously being difficult and rebellious. She was probably, 'Veers' might realize, testing the boundaries of what she could get away with.

“Look you can either do what you are told or don’t. I don’t care, you don’t want to work I tell the Overseer and I am sure she can dream something else up for you to do. You got a problem with her, take it up with her, I am just doing the job I have been given, aspirant,” she says calmly and directly.

She kept Veers' gaze for a few moments; then sighed and started to work.

The latest of the Serasai line, though unsure of herself and what that meant, arrived bright and early... well, at least 'early' for the task set before her. It would give her time to think at least.

An Imperial, much better than dealing with Rona watching over them. Here she might actually get a moment of reprieve. Giving a rather Imperial feeling check in,

"Kristal Serasai, reporting in."

“Welcome, grab a bucket and get to cleaning, not much to it,” she says with a nod.

"Understood," she said, turning about and finding a bucket. It was horrible, disgusting work but she would see it through. Just block the world around her out for a moment and think, plan, come up with a way to execute that same plan if everything changes and move forward.

Not once did Kristal notice that Ensign Veers was not only not Ensign Veers but that this was not their first meeting.

Ensign Veers smiles when the young Serasai is not looking and paces back and forth watching the students scrub. She admires the wall and then asks Layne, “Your lightsaber, yours is the black one, is it not?”

Elsewhere in the area, on the opposite end from the three women's practice, another group formed to allegedly do just that. Moyr had called for them to come to the practice.

Baesal arrived a few minutes after Moyr

''Good morning!'' she chirped with her lightsaber on her belt

Zeno had his sword and a lightsaber hilt on his hip. "Morning." He otherwise had nothing to say at the moment. He was the muscle, not the brains... except for when he was, which was not common.

Sylvain also showed up at the spot that Moyr had sent to him via his communicator. Seeing the others already gathered he approached them and nodded a greeting.

"Morning." He said with a smile.

Moyr conducted brief introductions between Sylvain and Baesal, then got down to business. She conveyed it matter-of-factly, though her careful gaze was on Sylvain, looking for traces of unwillingness to participate because of his recent loss.

"All right, Lord Torsin, Lord Deathright, here's the adventure. I likely figured out the pointers Darth Hazzan left about where he had hidden his legacy. This is what Zash has been after. Faln may have been a more complex person than I originally thought. He had deliberately misguided Zash from following certain clues. We're most likely ahead of her now if we manage to get where it is all hidden and retrieve it. The find, it can potentially be major, but the place we need to get into is the Restricted Tombs. This is what came out of overlaying the starmap we have retrieved from the tomb in the desert onto the topography of Korriban, adjusted for the passage of time for the amount of reference features. My understanding is we're all committed to this endeavour?"

Sylvain nodded but pensively. "I think I may be able to assist... but I have some important business I need to take care of this morning... After that is it alright if I notify you of my intent?"

Moyr nodded.

"We're supposed to be excavating something in the afternoon, and likely stay in the desert for the night. To return here after the work for the day will be done while most of those who could interfere will be away from here might not be the worst idea. Two speeders hidden in advance near the archeological site should do the job. Lord Deathwright?"

Zeno nodded his accord, nothing he really needed to say. He liked trouble and he liked violence. Hopefully he'd get plenty.

Remmington arrives at the site. He is a little surprised to see so many people there. He is not really surprised that Thaine is not. He offers a salute to the Imperial officer there. "Acolyte Thalalis reporting in."

He sees the buckets and goes to get one and get to work. The sooner he gets to this the sooner he can be finished and leave.

She stopped for a moment to look at Veers.

"Yes. What about it?"

“You obviously did not make that yourself, how did you come by it?” she asks with curiosity. She notices Remmington but he gets right to work, such a good little worm.

"I found it," she said. Which was obviously true; but which the ghost inside Veers would presumably also know was far from the whole truth.
