The Dark Academy on Korriban

Having spent a good part of the morning just getting out to the tomb, the pair dismounted their speeder and headed into the tomb of Nudas Min. The door now opened easily as they had appeased the guardian spirit. While their first search had yielded little, it had allowed them to get a rough and general idea of the layout of the tomb. Jun-Tsu hoped that would help them as they began their search in earnest, and at the very least they knew where such treasures weren't. It seemed that wherever they might have been they were certainly kept in secret side chambers rather than in places of prominence like they might have been. It seemed Nudas Min was a rather precautious, if confident sort in life.

Remmington dismounts from the speeder and ventures into the temple with Jun-Tsu. This time he wears a new pair of fashionable yet very handy scanner goggles. Perhaps the scanner goggles will reveal something that they missed before. "Well this is the last time we'll be able to come here for a while. So let's find everything we can before someone else comes in and loots all of our hard work Jun-Tsu."

"Vith any luck King Nudas Min vill zeek a price from zhem as vell. But ve are not going to be able to leave here easily. You already zaw zhe storm coming. Zhe veather iz going to turn qvite horrid for the next long vhile. All the more time to explore vithout fear of interruption."

She left the foyer and headed deeper into the tomb. She held a light before her and scanned the walls of the massive edifice. Though she kept moving forward, she wondered if these glyphs, symbols, and pictographs would give a hint as to the ruler's true history and what might be within the tomb.

"Well it is a big haul or bust this time. I really hope he doesn't ask for something else. It was a serious pain just to get into here." Remmington comments as he looks around. Occasionally recording stuff into his datapad and switching through various modes with the scanner goggles.

OOC: Survival, Lore, or Skullduggery at Hard with a Boost die from being here before; spending a Destiny to upgrade. Seek can also be used.

OOC: I don't have Seek, but I do have Keen-Eyed, can that give me a boost die even though this isn't a Perception roll?

OOC:What does it do, book not handy. You can assist each other or both roll.

OOC: It removes a setback die from Perception and Vigilance rolls equal to ranks in Keen-Eyed (it's in my PF here)

Jun-Tsu continued on, as Rem had her back. She looked at parts of the wall with a studious eye. She did not know the ancient Sith tongue exactly, but there were elements that were still evocative of the old Sith she knew from her sorcery training.

"Here, look," she pointed to a series of images depicting servants placing relics or some sort of sacred objects into special urns. "Of course, It iz beneath uz. Deeper."

And she was right, the force witch is bale to find stairs that lead downward deeper into the structure. They descend for quite a ways into darkness beyond their sight.

Holding the light in front of her she led the way down into the depths. For several minutes it felt like they descended further and further to a point she began to wonder whether this was some sort of illusion of the Dark Side. A trap that they had been ensnared. But further and further she went until finally coming to the bottom with a slight sensation of relief.

Remmington walks carefully along with Jun-Tsu. He looks around with his scanner goggles. Two sets of eyes are better than one for things like these.

He nods when he looks over the depictions of the servants preparing the sacred urns. "Hmm... you are quite right. We must be getting closer now. Stay close."

Even though he was the one to say it he stays close since she was carrying the light.

They reach the bottom and enter a broad hallway of stone that extends for maybe forty meters and then ends with a large sarcophagus with a statue of a powerful sith on a throne.

There is a voice that emanates from the darkness, it sounds like hundreds of whispers, “You have come seeking a boon of the King?”

Jun-Tsu looked back to Rem in the dark of the broad stairwell and stepped aside. She pointed the light around the room to take it in, but at the sound of the voice, she deferred to her longtime companion. If there was a boon to be had then most certainly Rem had been the one to earn it.

All the same, she cautioned, "Careful Rem. The spirits of the dead are crafty and cunning. They offer sweet promises, but be wise. Always be sure that what you gain is greater than what you give up."

Remmington nods to Jun-Tsu's words and approaches the sarcophagus. "My name is Remmington Thalalas of the former House Balmung. I come seeking the boon of the Sith King."

“Why should I reward one such as you?” the voice hisses.

"My ancestor was the herald of the Empire. Extremely powerful and feared by many. Just recently I brought tribute of the Sword of the Conqueror that was hidden away in the Tombs upon here in Korriban. I have come to you so that I may become more powerful." Remmington replies.

“I only grant power to those that serve me, swear your fealty to me and I shall grant you a boon,” the voice says with an implied disembodied smile.

"So long as our goals align with each others." Remmington says with a nods.

"Very well I Remmington Thalalas shall swear to serve you Sith King Nundas Min." He gets down on a knee.

"Seal the bond with blood, my vassal," the voice commands.

"May I borrow your sword Jun-Tsu? A lightsaber is a bit overkill in this situation." Remmington asks her.

Once she allows him to borrow it he will step forward and cut his palm. Then present the blood to the Sith King.

She was without her sword, having replaced the blade with her lightsaber, a decision she had not made lightly. But to that end, she did keep a ceremonial dagger with her. In many ways it felt more fitting. Handing over the short, golden-sheened blade, she watched as Rem made his blood pact. It made her think of her own allegiances to the Infinite Empire which she had sealed in blood.

The bond is struck, Remmington can feel it, and the chamber feels still and then the place shudders and a large head of a statue crashes right before them and a crystal falls to the floor a white crystal with pale red core.

OOC: White-red Ilum quality crystal.

"It is done." Remmington comments as he picks up the crystal and examines it for a moment before handing the ceremonial dagger back to Jun-Tsu. He looks the crystal over with the scanner goggles, records it on his datapad, and focuses the Force through it as well to see what else he can discover about it.

"Did you want to take a look at this Jun-Tsu? Your skills are better suited than mine when it comes to the Force."
