The Dark Academy on Korriban

His impression was right, she was young just like she looked in his visions. A bit paler and she coughed slightly with sweat beading on her brow. Common signs of carbonite sickness. She lowers her hand and says in a Republic accent, “I am glad we can talk this out, Thy Yulani, Jedi Knight. I need your help and seeing as you have not tried to kill me yet, maybe we can come to an understanding.”

HK stays alert but does not fire.

The Red Menace nodded, noting the signs of hibernation sickness.

"Alright then Thy Yulani. If you can make it worth my," A glance to his companion. "...our while, then perhaps we can." He gave her a curious look. "I saw you. In a vision from the force. You killed a Sith apprentice, and then you were fighting a Sith Lord and his troopers and ending up running this way. Obviously you survived, somehow. So tell me: what happened after that?"

Thy frowns at the question, “I returned Darth Jerkness to the Force, it wasn’t what I wanted to happen but he forced me hand. I don’t have much, Jedi do not value wealth but you are welcome to the ship. I am not sure what exactly you value.”

HK says, “Query: perhaps we should contact meatbag Kalen?”

"In a moment HK." He looked at the small woman and then tapped his chest.

"I want power, Thy Yulani. I want to learn more about my connection to the Force." He pointed at her lightsaber. "I want to become a skilled warrior and craft my own weapons. Can you give me power? Can you teach me how to become more than I am? Tell me what you can do for me, and we can come to an arrangement."

He looked over at the droid. "HK, tell Kalen there's a minor complication and I'm sorting it out. And ask if he thinks he'd be able to get the ship into orbit. I'm guessing we'd need a new transponder, or a new set of codes."

His attention returned to the Jedi. "Oh, and what happened to the remains of the notorious 'Darth Jerkness'? I don't recall the name." He gave a sly smile at her turn of phrase.

HK says, “Statement: fine with me, chat away meatbags.” The droid turns to access the communication system.

The Jedi Knight shrugs and says, “I tell you where Darth Jerkness is buried and you get me off Korriban, he still has his lightsaber. That sound like an even trade, sith?”

Jo'ren considered her offer carefully. One the one had she was a Jedi, and killing her would be good practice. On the other hand he still had a few wounds from those damned droids, and the Force had shown him how she handled an apprentice and a Darth on her own... Saying he did kill her he would still have to explain how he came to find her, and that might upset this little gig he'd set up with Kalen and the gang, which had long term alliance prospects.

Saying he'd found the remains of Darth whats-his-face in the Wilds though? That would be easy to cover, and no-one would bat an eyelid.

Eventually he nodded and stuck out a big hand. "Okay Thy Yulani, Jedi Knight. You have yourself a deal. My friends can smuggle you out of the system, but to a neutral place that won't give them trouble. Nar Shadaa maybe? You tell me where this Darth is buried. We both walk away."

"Okay, report to this Kalen and get me to Nar Shadaa, you get to go grave robbing, deal," she says.

"You have to shake my hand Jedi." He gave her a sly grin as he pulled out the communicator and called Kalen.

"Okay Kalen, I'm guessing that in your line of business you'll be stopping in past Nar Shadaa? I've got a passenger for you. She promises not to cause any trouble..." He glared at her. "and will easily squeeze into one of those 'special storage' areas I'm sure you have on board for live cargo."

He turned off the transmit function as he waited for the response and looked at her. "Done. So. Were did you bury Darth What's-his-name?"

Kalen replies, “Wait what… okay fine, think we got this place cleared up. Get to the bridge and bring this guest.”

She smiles and shakes his hand, “Well in the shadow of the ship it was marked once but I am not sure how many years… or months? I don’t know how long it’s been but...” she describes the location to Jo’ren with precision and assures him that she buried him with all effects.

Thy finishes with, “Get me to Nar Shaddaa and I can handle it from there.”

Jo'ren carefully notes down all of the information that she gave him regarding the grave. "Twenty five years actually, but wherever your carbonite chamber was I guess the timer wasn't working."

He finished taking down the details and called Kalen. "Alright Cap'n, we're on our way. Let's move out HK." Turning to Thy he added. "You know, you're pretty cute. For a human. Shame we're technically mortal enemies." He gave a big shrug with his huge shoulders in a what-are-you-going-to-do manner.

"I figured Nar Shadaa would be the best neutral territory, and gets my friends here out of having to come up with excuses for you. Win, win, win. Am I right?"

“Well,” she blushes pulling up her hood, “You are not completely evil for a sith, either. Thanks, I guess. Wait did you say twenty-five years?”

HK followed along and says, “Query: so we are not liquidating the Jedi? Unfortunate. My systems are optimized for Jedi elimination. Oh why did the Maker make me such a perfect Jedi killing machine and then make Jedi so few in number?”

Thy adds, “That is a tragedy… droid.”

HK replies, “Statement: thank you meatbag.”

Jo'ren gave her a look. "Listen. Balance is an illusion, but nothing is ever purely one thing or another. Don't they teach you that in Jedi school, or is that too 'grey' for you guys?"

Noting her surprise and HK's comment he decided to play it up. "I know HK, it's a tough old Universe. Sometimes we don't get to carry out our primary function, but that's okay." Looking at Thy he said. "Yeah, 25 years meatbag. I mean, at this point, the Jedi are basically wiped out. Poor old HK. At this point you might as well just join the winning side, you know?"

He gave her a small grin as they walked along the corridors towards the bridge.

"What's your style by the way. I saw you take out those soldiers and the sith apprentice. It was pretty cool."

“My style? I have experience with all the forms but I prefer Ataru, my Master says… said I focus too much on the lightsaber. What of yourself… did you ever tell me your name?” she asks.

HK is quiet as they walk down the halls listening to tedious meatbag small talk.

The Red Menace chuckled. "Nope. But I guess I may as well. I'm Jo'ren Rath, from the long and glorious line of Sek'nos Rath. When you realise that everything you were ever taught is a lie, and there is no balance to be had... Come and find me. Passion is pretty fun you know, you should try it some time."

He winked and then pointed at her lightsaber. "All of the forms huh? That's impressive. I like Ataru, I was thinking of learning it after I finish my Shii-Cho training."

For a moment he thought he heard HK muttering under his...well, voice modulator. Nah, must have been a gust of air or something.

She blinks at his words but opts for silence as they enter the bridge. Kalen turns in the chair and says, “Well bad news, she won’t fly. Good news she has a full payload of good we can offload. Did you find your magic stuff, kid?”

The wookie is buried in cables hard at work and just grunts her displeasure.

HK says, “Statement: enemies have been neutralized, except this Jedi.”

“Nice find kid, is this the passenger?” Kalen offers.

Jo'ren paused to pick up the fragments of the Sith's lightsaber handle, just in case anything was salvageable for the one he was about to make, and slipped them into a pouch on his belt. As they entered the bridge he gave the twi'lek a big toothy grin.

"Alright! Well, that makes things easier I guess. Glad there's a bunch of stuff to sell to our mutual benefit. Couple of blasters back n the hallway by the way. I told you this would be the start of a great partnership! Or if I didn't I meant to."

He winked at Thy.

"Well, I found a couple of useful things, and Ms. Yulani here has given me the location of something more."

He looked back at Kalen.

"Yep, if you can smuggle...I mean 'logistic' her out to Nar Shadaa, and out of everyone's hair, that would be grand."

“Oh we can logistics her to Nar Shaddaa, that’s our next stop so she can do some light crew work, wash some wookie unmentionables, polish the ship hull, detail the hyperdrive… you know. It will take some time for us to get a full accounting, if you got anything else to do, go ahead,” Kalen replies.

HK says, “Statement: just what this crew needs, another meatbag.”

Thy finds a seat still a bit wary but glad to have an escape plan.

"Sounds good Kalen, pay her way through wookie underwear, huh?" He grinned at the Jedi and then at Gorbie and HK. "Seriously tin can, Jedi are basically robots. They don't ever show emotion, they aren't allowed to love, or fuck, or hell they probably can't even have a beer. Say Kalen, have you got any beer on board the Inifinite? We should have a farewell drink before you guys leave."

He pulled out his datapad. "Actually I do have something else to do while you check the manifest and load up. I'm headed outside. If anyone wants to help me dig feel free to volunteer." He reached into the pockets of his survival gear and pulled out the goggles.

Regardless on the number of volunteers he set off towards the exit and went to try to find the coordinates Thy had given him.

"Oh we have the celebration booze, kid," Kalen said with a laugh.

Thy offers to assist as morbid as this sounds, it seems she feels better doing something than working on wookie under garments.

Jo'ren gave him a little salute in response to the beer comment. He was surprised to see Thy coming to help.

"Oh, alright then. You surprise me Thy, but I'll take the assist, thanks."

He led them out of the ship and back into the sands. It felt like a lot of time had passed on board. Maybe it was the force visions, he couldn't be sure. Using the datapad, and Thy's own directions, they found the place she thought they should be looking and started to dig in the shadow of the ship. Through 25 years of sand...

After a half hour of digging you find the remnants of the Sith, the armor is dirty but respect was put into burying them. Upon his chest sits his lightsaber.

Thy says, “There he is, Dark Jerkness in all his glory.”

OOC: Sith Armor has Soak 1 (Melee Defense 1/ranged Defense 1) Hard Points 1, Lightsaber but it is non-functional but has a crystal, probably needs a repair.

Jo'ren whistled, then sat back and laughed. The sound was muffled through the breath mask he had put on to stop chewing on sand while they worked. He shook his head in disbelief and removed the mask.

"Shit Thy, you really are as good as your word!" He collected the saber and attached it to his belt after checking it and finding it didn't work. "Good for parts at least, maybe I can repair it."

The armour though. That was something special. "Looks like it might just fit without too much work. You know I might have to paint this red." He looked over at her again. "Any idea what his real name was?" Without much fuss he starting to remove the now slightly mummified corpse from the armour, and then began the process of reburial. The guy had died here, he might as well remain in the shadow of The Valiant Light.

She shrugs and says, “No offense, Sith, but he wasn’t interested in talking. I figured he was Darth something or the other, all the big Sith are named Darth right?”

"Fair enough, Darth Jerkface will do." He looked down at the body and held his chin as he thought. "I feel like I should say something. How about: 'Here lies Darth Jerkface. We didn't know him well, but we do know that he failed at his job, got killed by a cute girl, and now I've got his stuff. Sleep well, sweet prince.' What do you think?"

He looked over at Thy and slung the armour over one huge shoulder. "Good job he was big too huh? Come on Thy, those underpants wont scrub themselves."

“I honestly have no response to that,” she says and then follows along.

“Do wookies wear underpants…?” the Jedi offers as the two head back to the ship for drinks and a job well done…
