The Dark Academy on Korriban

“Then you can have a place at my side, the old ways are dead. Korriban is a silent goddess, her death proves that. Join me or join her,” she says with a wicked smile.

“I will even overlook your tiny stature.”

Shaisha regards the woman with a scowl. She knew better than to think Korriban was silent, and she knew better than to trust the empty promises of one who would most likely see her dead.

"No."

She lifts her chin defiantly. "Because you are already dead. As is your tribe. But Korriban still lives on."

The woman laughs and says, “You are funny with your words.”

She sighs and hefts her battle axe over her shoulder, “I will enjoy killing you; I might even honor you by wearing your face.”

The sith charges and slams the massive axe into the dirt as Shaisha evades the attack with easy, the warrior takes stock and sees herself adopt a defensive stance.

The lithe Sith steps away from the brutish attack, and spots an opening left from such a wild swing, even if Magara-sha tried to correct her defenses.

The shoto slips past her guard, the blade of red light burning a path forward. It is enough to distract Magara-sha from the other lightsaber that swipes towards her.

Magara-sha brings her metallic axe up and it parries the lightsaber with no ill effect but the second strike is far too swift. She rolls backwards and then reaches out with the Force and pulls a fifteen meter high tree out of the ground and slams it into Shaisha!

She can hear Magara-sha approach, but she might not be long for this world.

OOC: Total wounds taken is 9 after Parry reduces first strike by 4 for 3 strain. Currently at 13 wounds and 7 strain; she uses a maneuver to disengage. Takes strain to Aim.

Magara-sha does 22 damage with Move (Silhouette 2 Tree) and a Critical Injury to Shaisha, so that is 19 wounds after Soak.

Shaisha prepares herself for a counter-attack, somewhat surprised that the woman was still standing. She did not expect to have a tree thrown at her, and even if she tries to dodge out of the way, it's simply not enough.

The trunk slams into her and knocks her down. She doesn't even have time to think about the pain.

Shaisha wakes up covered in a coarse blanket made of tuk’ata fur… or skin. Spindral is making soup and glances at her and says. “Whatever you were dreaming… it was not a pleasant one.”

Her body aches and cuts cover her body. She is lying under a rocky outcropping and there is a fire to stave off the cold desert nights of Korriban.

“Want soup?”

Shaisha bites her lip to stiffle a groan of pain.

Spindral? The man seemed to show up whenever she stepped out here. But is presence was more welcome now than what she had just seen.

"... Dream? No..." she grunts as she brings herself to sit up. "But it seemed so real?"

“Found you lying face down in a muddy puddle. Looked like death,” he says with a nod.

“Korriban must have guided me to you,” he says with a cough.

OOC: She is 1 short of Max wound threshold and has the Critical Injury.

"Feel like death," she says through gritted teeth as she tries to cope with the pain. She couldn't even remember the last time she hurt this much physically. "I'm grateful to see you again."

"I thought I'd found them. The Forgotten."

“The Forgotten are long dead, if you found them… perhaps Korriban needed you to find an echo. What did you see?” he asks curiously.

"Lush, green rain forest... native Sith, not what we are now." She touches the side of her face. Even if they had had the same ridges and spurs as her, they had looked very different.

"I met a woman, Vreyska, leader of her tribe. She called me a... spirit-walker? Before we could talk much, the 'dark tribe' arrived to kill and enslave Vreyska's tribe." Shaisha breathes deeply, then deeply regretted doing just that as she felt her ribs ache in protest.

"I recognized their leader, I think. The one who took over my friend, in the cave."

“She’s an old one. It seems your destinies are now tied, perhaps they have always been,” he says with a nod.

“The Force has been strong on Korriban of late.”

"Way too strong, judging by that tree..." she murmurs, unhappy over her own defeat. Maybe it had been wrong to go alone? Both Sylvain and Kristal had seemed to not want her to go off alone.

I can't be strong if I rely on them. I must become stronger on my own. Ow...

"Or just not strong enough with me perhaps."

“Magara-sha is old and strong, she was a leader of her people and she killed a few of the exiles before she was brought to heel… or so she says. You faced a worthy foe even if it was just an echo. You would have died a Sith,” he said with a nod.

“But you live and she does not, that counts for something.”

"Dead would be dead. Wouldn't really matter if it was in battle, like a Sith."

She let her hands support the weight of her head for now.

"I wasn't sure what I would finding, tracing after the Emperor like that, but what I found wasn't what I expected."

“Finding exactly what we are looking for when traversing the unknown is rare,” Spindral says.

“Maybe you were meant to see it, the Force and Korriban do as they will. Following the steps of the Emperor is not an easy path, I do not envy that path.”

Sitting in silence for several moments, Shaisha wonders if it truly was her path to follow... if she was strong enough to follow it.

"... I need to become stronger if I'm to follow that path that I've now started on. If not for you, I would've been a goner, I suspect."

“Probably carrion for the scavengers,” he reassures her.

Some reassurance.

"Why have you helped me? First advice, and now this..."

“I just happened to be nearby, perhaps it was the Force guiding me. Maybe I am just aiding you now to kill you later? Life is unexpected, I try not to worry about why things happen anymore,” he replies.

"Sounds like a simple life you lead," she starts to chuckle, then stops herself when her body punishes her for the act.

"Korriban is full of surprises. An echo from the past...? Never thought I'd come across something like that, and be called a Spirit Walker. Fancy name for Force Sensitive, I guess?"

“I am sure the primitives had a variety of names and titles for things they could not understand,” Spindral says.
