Layne headed into the part of the deep wilds known as the killing fields; armed with whatever information she'd been given by the droid on structures and tombs in the area. Hopefully finding the place itself wouldn't be too difficult, or all of this would be for naught.

She checked the map frequently to see if she was in the right area.

"Alright Lord Oshin," she muttered to herself, "let's see if we can find this place."

((there was already a D3LA thread here, but given the size of the place I figure it'd be okay to have more than one in the same slot))

Lord Oshin chuckled and said, “In some macabre way, this is like coming home, flesh of my flesh.”

The speeder rushed through the landscape and a feeling washes over the aspirant, she was getting close…

She zeroed in on that feeling, following it towards its destination and getting the speeder as close as possible to the tomb itself. Today was the day. She would beat those nobles, and that overly excited alien. She'd be the first with a lightsaber of her own. Even if it was that of her ancestor.

I wonder what color it'll be.

It would be easy to miss the mound but she knew that was where she needed to be. It jutted out of the sounds like a sore thumb. The dust settled as the speeder came around. Checking the mound and brushing away dust she finds a door of stone.

Not a whole lot left, huh?

First she checked to see if there was something like an auto-transponder on the speeder; something that she could set to send a distress signal after a certain amount of time, just in case things went horribly wrong. If so, then she'd set it for a couple of hours. If not, eh; shrug it off, grab the supplies, and head through the door. She took out her glowrod in one hand, and a knife in the other, and went inside.

The door slides open after some pushing and there is the musty smell of ages. Having set an emergency transponder, pretty standard on all of the speeders, the deep dark beckoned. The glow rod illuminated stairs.

Lord Oshin said softly, “This is your journey, flesh of my flesh. Succeed or die by your hand.”

He faded from sight.

At least there weren't going to be any looters; place definitely hadn't been touched in forever. Seeing the stars, she sighed a little, before moving down them; keeping an eye out for any potential traps.

The interior winds downward into the stone giving way to a more metallic and technological appearance. As she crosses a threshold she comes into a rectangular chamber that shudders to life with lights and holographic displays of Lord Oshin. One of him leading sith forces another with him standing next to his slave-wife perhaps? Another with him meditating.

A droid jolts to life and approached, “Gree-gree-greetings I am R5-T8, care-care-caretaker.” Sparks sizzle along the joints.

It had half-startled her, and she gripped the blade tight. But then it spoke; and she reconsidered. The droid would be useful.

"Greetings. I am Layne Hoshin. The last descendent of Lord Oshin. I need full access to this place."

The droid responds with pops and sizzles as it spoke, “Acc-access access denied. Greetings Layne.”

“Lord Oshin is-is-is dead. Long live Lord Oshin. Greetings Layne how-how-how can I help you? 0-1-1-1-0-0 error. Critical.”

“Greetings how can-can-can I assist you?” the droid finished.

"Ugh, stupid broken droid. Tell me how to get to the tomb of Hania."

The least the piece of junk could do was tell her that, right?

She was already walking towards the holographic display that looked like Oshin next to his slave-wife. Maybe she could figure it out on her own. Although she still listened for the droid's answer.

The droid starts walking, “This way Lord Oshin, thank you for returning from the dead-dead-dead.”

“The tomb is 1-0-0-0-01-01-1-1 errro. Reinitializing welcome to the Tomb, how are you I am progr-pgrg… voice modulator.”

The droid is now walking into a walk over and over.

On the far wall or door is a beautiful fresco of the same woman laying on a bed looking fierce and regal in all her red skin glory.

Only the flesh of his flesh can enter...

Well, the obvious thing was to just lay her hand on the fresco. Which is what she did. Maybe that would open it. If not, she'd look for anything out of the ordinary.

The moment she touches the wall it slides back and she sees Lord Oshin standing with his hands on a sarcophagus. Quiet tears stain the large tomb and a sith woman stands dutifully behind him. He says, “Hania, my beloved, your fierce nature and your beauty were unmatched. You have returned to the Force, I hope that you will wait for me my beloved. I have much to do, but when my time is done I shall welcome death.”

The sith woman added, “My love, she will be missed. But I bear your child, your legacy is secured.”

“Yes but I wish it had been Hania, you will ever be second to-” a black sith blade pierced through Oshin’s chest and he looked down shock.

The woman hissed, “You taught me your secrets, took me to your bed and still I am second to a ghost? Then join her, fool.” She pulled the blade out and flicked away the blood the warm splatters shake Layne from the vision. Replacing it is the sight of the tomb and a cylindrical object next to a desiccated corpse, it seems this area was sealed.

Well, that... was something. It also didn't sound like Oshin had been telling the whole truth. Unless he had, and something was wrong with the picture here. Before she stepped foot inside, she decided to look very carefully for any potential traps.

((anything to roll?))

OOC: Perception with Average, using Destiny to Upgrade the roll. Boost die because you are the flesh of his flesh. Add a force die any Dark side can be added as successes or Advantage.

She used all her familiar senses; and some new ones; to try and figure out if there was any danger here.

Perception / Cunning, Boost, Force: 1eA+1eP+1eB+1eF+1eD+1eC 3 successes, 2 Light Side

((if there's any tangible use to be had for either 2 more successes, or 2 advantage, I'll use a destiny point to flip those lightside points))

There is nothing that seems amiss this chamber seems to have been sealed. The black metal hilt lightsaber seems to call to her though.

Huh.

Well, fortune favored the bold. She stepped into the chamber, and moved toward the corpse, kneeling beside it.

"That's a pretty shit way to go," she said; then turned her attention to the lightsaber. It was probably going to explode in her face the moment she'd touch it or something. But then, her senses were telling her things were safe here...

...she picked it up.

The weapon was familiar in her hand and it did not explode except to ignite the blade of energy a black void outlined in white. She felt a presence behind her. Turning she saw a large sith woman nearly a head taller with two black metal blades in hand. One still dripped blood on the metallic floor.

She smiled wickedly and said, “You should be dead, I am sure I killed you. No matter, I am stronger than you. You are weak and past your prime.”

OOC: Roll Cool at Simple difficulty, no dice, for initiative. The Sith Ghost has Adversary 1 (Upgrade Difficulty on a die) and a Melee Defense 1 (1 setback die).

Oshin's Lightsaber: Damage 7; Crit 1; Range - Engaged; Encumbrance 1; HP 5; Breach 1, Sunder

Sith Warlord - Cool: 2eP+1eA 1 success, 5 advantage

She picked it up and held the lightsaber out; flipping the switch as she watched the blade extend.

Oh, hell yes.

For some reason she'd been expecting it to be blue, or red. Instead she saw the black void with its white outline, and smiled. This seemed unusual enough that it'd impress the hell out of people. Then she felt it; and turned. Shit.

Initiative (cool): 2eA+1eP 1 success, 2 advantage

((I believe the number of success symbols being tied means PC's go first? Otherwise this'll be my action after getting roflstomped))

She didn't waste time retorting; instead she moved into high gear, swinging her new acquisition at the ghost's form accompanied by a high pitched whine, hoping it wouldn't simply pass through without doing any damage. You probably couldn't kill what had already died; but perhaps she could disperse the ghost for a while.

Lightsaber/Brawn, upgraded difficulty, 1 setbeck removed(blade of woe)(2 strain taken for dual attack): 1eA+2eP+1eD+1eC 4 successes, 1 threat

Lightsaber/Brawn, upgraded difficulty, 1 setbeck removed(blade of woe)2nd attack: 1eA+2eP+1eD+1eC 0 successes, 2 advantage, 1 Triumph
ImageImageImageImageImage

((4+7=11 damage done on first attack; 2nd attack never happened))

((edit: sorry, for some reason I thought attacks were maneuvers and thought I could suffer strain to do more than one; please disregard the 2nd roll  ))

The Sith rushes at her swinging with both blades, both are evaded by Layne as the woman rolls into a crouch and hisses. She says, “I am going to wear your face as a trophy, my love.”

OOC: If successes ties, then look at Advantage, she has more. When two weapon fighting in this case both weapons being the same skill you make one attack roll with increased difficulty so 3 difficulty dice instead of two, if you get 2 advantage or Triumph you can use that to deal damage with the second weapon, you don’t make two attack rolls. If the second attack his you can spend the rest of the advantage as normal to activate qualities for both weapons. I am spending Destiny to Upgrade the difficulty for Layne's attack.

Attack Pool for Layne should be 1eA+2eP+3eD for two weapon fighting.

Sith Ghost Attack: 3eP+1eA+3eD+1eS 0 successes, 1 advantage

Layne’s strike was true and the woman hissed with anger, “I will KILL YOU!” She emphasized the words by using the pommel of her sword to smash Layne in the cheek and buy breathing room. She comes at her again but it seems to be a feint as she falls into a defensive stance assessing her foe.

OOC: Sith Ghost takes 11 wounds. Layne takes 1 strain. Sith Ghost Gains 1 Melee Defense up to 2 now and still Adversary 1. Since I allowed the first roll this roll has an Upgrade from destiny.

Sith Ghost Attack: 3eP+1eA+3eD+1eS 1 failure, 3 advantage

"Lady, I ain't who you think I am!"

She struck back, or tried to; the blade just barely missing the ghost's spectral form.

Fuck!

Lightsaber/Brawn, DESTINY POINT, -1 setback dice (owning blade of woe), upgraded difficulty, +1 setback dice from added defense: 3eP+2eC+1eS 0 successes, 2 threat

(at 5 total strain now (1 from earlier in the day))
