With a nod, Kristal had shown her own understanding to the young Shaisha's departure. There were some things that you just had to do. For Shaisha, this was one of those times. That was something Kristal could understand.

Like she had always with Sylvain, with her companions, she lead the way when she was needed. Becoming the bulwark against the dangers she faced. Never erring in her path she moved straight ahead. Lesser beasts threw themselves upon the group, and with Sylvian and Leilani watching her back Kristal's front was impenetrable. Nothing could stop the trio in their path through the wastes between them and the academy. That was until they came across an impressive beast, larger than the others this one seemed an alpha. Simple force wouldn't be enough to take it down, Kristal needed a to find a vital point, somewhere to strike...

Leilani was hanging back for the moment, a scanner she had been using in one hand to help traverse the wastes of Korriban, a black glove on the other, hand slightly raised on the other, a small patch maybe an inch and a half in width and height in the center of the palm. She had considered pulling out some of her other resources for additional safety but thought better of it for now; she worried it would simply slow them down too much and they were on a time frame to get to the temple. For now, however, there was something standing in their way.

Terentatek? No...she remembered that name because it was important. There was an old story about it. Sure, this thing seemed giant and vile and hideous, but she knew this couldn't be the worst of the things on Korriban, and from the sound of it Terentatek were the worst of the worst. Definitely not a Klor, the giant tubes of murderous teeth and pincers that someone had decided to call a slug. It was so hard to remember different species and biology of so many planets, this was a rare occasion she wished there were just nexu everywhere. It was more of a dog than a cat though...and those back legs, two lower claws and a raised single claw, for quick strikes when it jumped on larger prey and hung on with its front paws. That was familiar...Tuk'ata. That was it.

"When it lunges, it'll try to twist up to kick at you, it has to raise its body and leave its flank exposed, up and to the right!" she called, watching. If she was right, it would have to raise its front left leg to kick, and with a wide swing a blade could be buried right under the front leg and into the chest before it had a chance to kick.

Sylvain raised his hand toward another one of the beasts and watched as it began to squirm in terror.

After it fled and all was clear again Sylvain put his hand on Kristal's shoulder, "Didn't I tell you this one was sure to be useful. She's a keeper."

He looked back and gave Leilani a wink and a smile.

Kristal performed exactly as Leilani had instructed, in the moment of battle there was no chance to second guess or consider options. There was just the moment to act. Whether she trusted the new girl or not wouldn't matter until after, which in some cases might be far too late.

Luckily, this was not one of those times.

With the beast dead she looked to Sylvain and Leilani, giving a nod of approval to the latter in conjunction with Sylvain's words. Sylvain was right.

"Come on, we still have much more ground to cover... but yes, you were right."
