Sylvain followed Kristal's lead of the three speeders that set out across the wastes. Kristal was the one who always had the best knack for places to check out, even if it was Syl and Shaisha that had to push her to go out.

As they parked their speeders for a moment beside a small ravine and outcropping of rocky hills, Sylvain jumped off his speeder and stretched out his shoulders a bit. "Anything yet Kris?"

Her mood was down the drain after the exam tests, so when the other two were ready to go adventuring, she was more than ready to get away from the Academy.

With her concealing robes covering most of her form, Shaisha got out her macrobinoculars to get a look of their surroundings.

Kristal, armed with her ancient blade just in case and with her heavier clothing to protect a bit against the elements took a few steps away from the speeders. There was something she learned at the academy. More than what was intended, something she applied to her memories.

Kristal had been using the force for far longer than she realized. Unfortunately for now, that ability did not work with her as it had in her past. With a light shake of her head, and a small frown, she responded "Nothing yet."

"And you Shai? See anything interesting?" He asked.

"Not much yet," she took the binoculars away from her eyes.

"Gonna be a storm coming, I think... probably tonight?"

"Lovely. I guess I'll stay indoors tonight while you two are at the party worshiping Darth Marr." He said with a teasing tone.

"Let's see what we can find out here... must be something of interest for us. I'll take point."

Knowing that she was the one most skilled at understanding Korriban's wilderness, Shaisha took point, trusting Syl to stay in the middle and Kris to keep an eye on their backs.

The team finds a ravine just as the speeder stalls and then dies. The ravine sounds like it has water flowing through it.

"Useless piece of Jawa scrap," Shaisha muttered, giving the speeder a small kick after she stepped off it.

As she picked up the sound of water, her anger at the machine was forgotten for now, and she approached the edge to peek down the ravine.

"Huh... not often you find streams on Korriban."

Sylvain looks over at the stream, "We'll have to get this fixed eventually... Want to do it before or after we check out this stream?"

He pauses to think, "I vote after... maybe we can cool the engine with some water... lots of steam coming off it right now."

Kristal had turned her focus to something useful, or at least an attempt. Knelt beside the machine she was working out how to get it running again before she heard Shaisha's voice. Turning to look over her shoulder the, light of Korriban blinding her for a moment, her eyes adjusted to find Shaisha.

"Yes, but of what?" she asked, mostly teasing at the idea it was something other than water.

"Let's check out the ravine first. It's not like the speeders are going anywhere, right?" she gave a shrug and began to unload some of the rope, hooks and and other bits and pieces from her utility belt.

As always, Shaisha seemed to have all sorts of handy stuff on her person.

When Kristal moved aside Slyvain slid over to the speeder and opened up the hood. That was the manly thing to do right?

"We might need an escape plan... Maybe it's an easy fix?" Sylvain said as he looked down in.

Seeing something out of place Slyvain tried to push things around a bit to make all the gadgets fit in the 'right' place. After fumbling around with the hot engine for a couple minutes Sylvain said, "Give it a try."

It obviously didn't help as much as he would have liked.

The stream was small but was flowing into a natural cave some 20 or so meters below, there was a natural incline leading down, and they could see a few green shrubs clustered around the stream. It was like a slim oasis in the crimson sands and rocks.

The trio can hear and feel the winds pick up and off to the west a mass of red dark swirling clouds was approaching fairly quickly… the telltale signs of a sandstorm.

Looks like it just overheated, a coolant hose has gone bad, easily replaced and if they wait it could work but would stall again but probably not before they got back.

Sylvain chuckled at their predicament. "It looks like we have a choice of being caught in a sandstorm or an unknown cave."

He smiled, "I vote cave for now."

"Then the vote in unanimous," Kristal stated in finality. A sandstorm wasn't something she had any intention of braving for now. Knowing, hoping, it should simply pass quickly enough.

Moving over to help with the preparation for the descent in any way she might. Or, simply looking down and getting a good judgement of the 'oasis' below for herself.

The sign of a natural cavern... and an oasis, in a place like this, she felt a deep urge to explore it as quickly as possible.

As Syl made his attempts at being a macho man, she looked back at the horizon... those signs of a sandstorm seemed closer now than earlier? "Yeah, cave it is."

OOC: There is a natural incline/decline ramp thingy that you can take.

Sylvain walked with the other two as the approached the entrance to the cave. "There were a couple of sith hounds in a cave I came across yesterday. Probably would be best to be ready."

If through time and space it was revealed that he had indeed been able to purchase his sword in the morning, he would prepare it and possibly offer it to Shaisha.

(Oh, well that's nice! :D No need to climb!)

Thinking they could trade weapons when at least they had made it down the ravine, Shaisha pointed the group in the direction of the decline. "This will be faster."

"Simpler, certainly."

Kristal moved toward the natural ramp, sword remained at her side but never was she unready for combat. If something wished to attempt to take a bite out of her it would surely regret it all the same.

Sylvain reached the entrance to the cave with the other two and looked at each of them briefly.

"Well, here goes nothing." He said as the three of them began to walk into the cave.

As they began to move inward, Kristal naturally assumed the front. Standing between them and whatever might lurk hidden in a deceptively charming place such as this. Closing her eyes for the moment, as they journeyed down, she made another attempt to pierce the veil of what merely mortal eyes could see.

Once again, it would appear that her connection to the force here was blinded by something. The Light.

The Light, helpfully provided by Shaisha's glow rod.

She wasn't planning on stumbling into the dark there.

(and given we aren't attacked by grue right away)
"Syl... you take the glow rod, I'll handle the sword."

Sylvain took the glow rod and handed Shaisha the sword.

Sensing a bit of frustration in Kristal's feelings Sylvain asked, "You okay Kris?"
