Force Exam

Event Type: Mandatory
Participants: All
Timeslots: Late Morning to Mid Afternoon.

Reputation Affected: Yes
Description: This event is broken up into three separate events that comprise the whole event. The three events are Combat Exam, Knowledge Exam, and Force Exam; these exams are each off three times in the day one in the Late Morning, one in the Early Afternoon and one in the Mid Afternoon time slot.

Exams in the Late Morning time slot have a Difficulty of Easy. Exams in the Early Afternoon have a difficulty of Average, and the Exams in Mid Afternoon are Hard difficulty. There are two rolls made per time slot. Each exam has a different set of rolls to be made. Players must complete all rolls.

Options for skills: The player must make a Discipline (Willpower) check versus fear as they are subjected to raw Dark Side energy and then must use a Force power, if they do not have a Force Power they can roll a force die and make a second Discipline (Willpower) check to attune to the force with increased difficulty of one step. So if it is Average for the first roll this roll is Hard. A Triumph rolled here is a success even if the roll fails, technically. A Despair roll is a failure no matter the total outcome and can only be canceled by a Triumph. Threat rolled deals Strain and Advantage can be used to regain strain. Succeeding on Discipline grants 1 Exam point, successful use of a Force power grants another Exam point.

Kristal was lead out to a small arena of sorts, set up for her particular force ability. First she was given time to prepare herself, attuning to the raw force of the Dark Side. Blind folded she was sat at the center and given her blade. Forced to rely on her abilities with the Force to sense the approaching Tak'ata pups that were set loose upon her. Kristal's strikes were deft, accurate, and a sight to behold. Cutting down the small force beasts like they were nothing. Had the spectators not been watching they would perhaps not have believed that she was blindfolded at all. Some of the Imperials still didn't. However, this just served to prove to them the power that resided in even the more base explorations of the Dark Side of the Force.

The force is strong with you.... Right?

Well at least that is what Rumun thinks. He knows one or two tricks with the force. But today was not his day.

As he concentrated in the force, the darkside overwhelmed his senses. Terrible images appeared in his mind. Pain like electricity travelled from the tip of his toes to his head. There was nothing, an absolute blackness. An there he was alone, without anyone to assist him.

Fear, anger, hate...

Suffering.

Rumun was on his knees. Helpless. But at least it seems that nobody was taking attention to him.

But this was not the end. He refused to be defeated like this. All that suffering infused Rumun with dark thoughts, he could feel a sudden rush of power flowing through him.

Still on his knees and without raising his head, he extended one hand and suddenly a rock started floating. With the power of his mind and his frustation he achieve at least moving an object around.

They're is nothing to fear but fear itself. Also dismemberment.

In this challenge he was only facing the first, but the will of Jo'ren Rath was unshakable and he sneered at the instructors attempt to scare him. It was all too easy.

Of course this led him to the next part of the test, in which he had to face his actual fear: that he was too weak in his force abilities. Channelling that sensation through the dark side of the force he succeeded in attuning himself, though there was a toll on his mind.

If truth be told Jun-Tsu was somewhat suprised by the ease of her earlier exams. It had centered her, as had venturing to the restricted tombs. On the journey over she had let the power of the place wash over her. She had closed her eyes and let the Dark Side guide her, opening herself up fully to the powers of the Dark. It was, to her, as natural as breathing, and while she waited for her examiner to call her forth she continued to meditate surrounded by the ancient trappings of the Sith.

When she was roused, she did not open her eyes, merely followed her examiner, through the corridors and to the inner sanctum where the exam would take place. She could feel the oppressive nature of the Dark Side here. It clung to every wall and hung in the air. To many the place would seem dead and somber, but to her it was alive. More alive than most any place she had ever felt save the ancient temples and tombs on Korriz.

"Yes," she said, as she felt the darkness look into her. She could feel it begin to rise threateningly, the longer she stay there. "Come to me. Embrace me!" She called to the emptiness and raised her hands in a meditative posture. It was one she had mastered long ago to reader herself to receive the powers of the darkside.

In an instant she felt it plunge into her and through her. The pain shook her in an ecstatic convulsion. Her pained laughter echoed off the walls as she felt every part of the chamber, the Dark Side spilling out of her to show her all around her.

Xevine seemed unimpressed by the power of the force, though she did feel some pressure. Still, she was a Distraacht, and she. Will. Not. Fail.

Next up, she demonstrated her skill with the Force, concentrating and focusing all her rage in her limbs. She then decided to make backflips and cartwheels with the precision of a hungry predator, using the Force for spectacular effect.

Still surprised at the way her shooting had distracted from her poor Lightsaber performance, Sarna needed a few moments to collect herself before stepping up to the Force challenges. Still not sure herself much power she had it quite what to do with it, the young Mirialan tapped years of cool, dispassionate life with her parents. She could focus; she could control whatever she was about to face.
