Force Exam

Event Type: Mandatory
Participants: All
Timeslots: Late Morning to Mid Afternoon.

Reputation Affected: Yes
Description: This event is broken up into three separate events that comprise the whole event. The three events are Combat Exam, Knowledge Exam, and Force Exam; these exams are each off three times in the day one in the Late Morning, one in the Early Afternoon and one in the Mid Afternoon time slot.

Exams in the Late Morning time slot have a Difficulty of Easy. Exams in the Early Afternoon have a difficulty of Average, and the Exams in Mid Afternoon are Hard difficulty. There are two rolls made per time slot. Each exam has a different set of rolls to be made. Players must complete all rolls.

Options for skills: The player must make a Discipline (Willpower) check versus fear as they are subjected to raw Dark Side energy and then must use a Force power, if they do not have a Force Power they can roll a force die and make a second Discipline (Willpower) check to attune to the force with increased difficulty of one step. So if it is Average for the first roll this roll is Hard. A Triumph rolled here is a success even if the roll fails, technically. A Despair roll is a failure no matter the total outcome and can only be canceled by a Triumph. Threat rolled deals Strain and Advantage can be used to regain strain. Succeeding on Discipline grants 1 Exam point, successful use of a Force power grants another Exam point.

Sylvain saved what he was best at until the end of the day. Knowing that the instructors must be getting tired with the endless waves of students, he knew he'd need to be prepared for the worst that they could send his way.

As the Dark Side of the force was hurled at his psyche, Sylvain stood defiantly against the raging onslaught. There were things in this life that were far more concerning than some simple mind tricks. He felt the force flow through him as he influenced his mind to be able to resist the influence of the Dark Side, he felt a quiet resolve and sense of purpose amid the chaos of the test.

Khalim steps forward for the next test, the test of the Force, without much concern on his face.

As the full fury of the Dark Side is thrown at him, the sith doesn't even seem to flinch. If what assailed him was anything more than a light breeze, nobody would even know. The instructors push more and more of the energy into the Dark Side into him, trying to probe and break his resolve, but his willpower seems to be far too strong for them to break this day.

After the instructors give up trying to break his resolve, he calmly calls upon the force to move a small stone from one of the two tables sitting in front of him to the other.

These tests were a joke...

Okay, last one, this isn't too bad. Just gotta hold out, then show my stuff. It's fine...

Wrong again.

The dark side energy thrown at her was unrelenting, and she stood her ground until just the end, when she screamed in pain. And then... it stopped. And she closed her eyes, and saw her master. And she was... happy.

Gerald faced his fear and weathered the dark side energy but it scarred him mentally. So much so that he had no drive to even really manifest the Force… the dark energy tasted like bile on his lips.

Thorne was angry and this would push her to do better she didn’t pass the test and she should have. Now she would have to push it to the limit, she was heir to a destiny and she had failed them.

Niriti stood in the tombs, the essence of the darkness surrounding her intimidated her, nonetheless, she concentrated on her exam. The woman made a smile and looked towards one of the hallways from where an eerie sound started to emanate, a chilling sinister laugh that echoed through the rest of halls surrounding them.

She expected nothing when she finally arrived here and just wanted to get things through. This tought might actually give increased resolution...might.

It got to her how it looked at this point. The looks of judges were portending nothing good. She failed those who were willing to give her a shot and vindicated the Conservative racists. Her makeup might be flaking but the smile stayed on as the show went on.

Well, the smile was wiped out by the surge of dark energy she was ill-suited to contain.

But she had nothing to lose, and she was very angry. She licked the ferric taste of her palate and rode the Dark power, bending the will of a handsome tall soldier to clap thunderously, applauding her. Probably making a big fool of himself.

Fear? What was that? Didn't exist as far as Layne was concerned.

Unfortunately, neither did the force, it seemed. Yes, there was some rippling of said force going on as she tried to jump farther than humanly possible, showing she did have power... but... oh well.
