The Dark Academy on Korriban

With the super fast leveling they have going on and the generally more soloable quests, the ego stroking is in full force on SWTOR.

It is very easy to feel like a big damn hero/Jedi/Sith when you're gunning/lightsabering hordes down in seconds.

My DvL Agent is being uppity and disrespectful to Jadus...

Just feels so wrong.

Said uppity-ness and dissing was duly punished.

I have unlocked Twileks for all!

I promptly made a Human BH so she and Mako can have adventures together.

/is currently making Mako very unhappy by murdering absolutely everyone he can in the BH storyline.

Out of all the companions, Mako has to be my favorite with Vette running a close second.

Few of the Republic companions really stand out to me beyond Corso - and he stands out because I dropped him the minute I got Bowdaar and I never looked back.

Kira Carsen (2nd Companion for Jedi Knight, gained on Coruscant) and Risha (3rd Companion for Smuggler, gained at the end of chapter 1 but you meet her after Coruscant).

Those two are the best Republic Companions to me.

Mako is cute, but annoys me from time to time.

BH: *kills people with a bounty on their head*

I blame that aspect of behavior for Mako and, indeed, any of the companions on Bioware's often slipshod ability to maintain coherent ethics for a character beyond a broad level coupled with the inability to really convey the nuance of the response you're choosing on the dialogue wheel.

I mean, to be honest there's arguably hairs to split between collecting on a bounty and flamethrowering someone to death for ca$h. How are you supposed to really gauge where Mako finds drawing the line acceptable? How are you supposed to guess based on the few words on the speech wheel that what you thought was a reasonable response makes you sound like an amoral, murderous jerk?

My Powertech Tank doesn't understand the difference. It's all Violence = CA$H to him.

I know she's pretty universally hated, but there were times where I enjoyed Nadia Grell and the simple Master/Padawan relationship I made (was completely asexual despite being male).

That said I liked Vette and Kira the most.

... People hate Nadia?

A whole bunch of people I've talked to have. They thought she was too linear.

I thought she was adorable.

For me, the negative aspect of Nadia is that she is introduced WAAAAY too late in terms of a Romance-companion. And that you can't start romancing her until after you gain her as a Companion (even if she's been on your ship during all of Chapter 2).

And in a long line of cutesy girl-companions, yes, she doesn't stand out. But unlike Mako, she isn't as hypocritical ("it's totally fine to kill people for money if they did bad stuff!"), or as dumb as Ashara ("How dare he say I'm not a Jedi when I left the Jedi to join the Sith?!"). Nadia is naive, but she has led a *very* sheltered life, so her background makes that naivety more believable.

I liked her. I only ever finished the Jedi Consular storyline, but from the limited pool of companion characters I interacted with my favourites were Vette and the trandoshan whose name escapes me now.

I really wish being a Gunfighter Smuggler didn't involve hiding behind an energy shield. Getting in my run and gun action with my BH and wishing for an armor set sort of maybe like Niko Okarr's was available.

Can't ever get it all.

Forex has to my favourite. He is so magnificently upbeat and gung ho about murdering enemies of his precious Republic!!!!

Forex feels like an anti-HK in the best of the ways.

Best girl. Not that I played any other classes. :p

Slogging through storylines. I got to Hoth on my Juggernaut.

...Hoth... So desolate.

Pray for me.

Just rush through the class storyline.

Otherwise you get stuck there forever.

I must be weird. I liked Hoth. I liked it enough to go back and get my Tauntaun whenever that event was on.

It's just so mind-numbingly empty. The devs did too good a job comveying the whole frozen, empty hellscape feel of it.

Good soundtrack, too.
