The young togruta was walking the deck in her tank top and overalls, almost looking like a member of the engineering team. She was looking at the void but also at what she could seen from the ship's exterior. She leaned on a rail in silence, with an air of contemplation |

A similarly young girl, human, stalked about the deck with a look in her eyes that suggested she was hoping to find an opening in the guard's routine. Something to exploit against them. She obviously didn't like them; but given how intently some of them were watching her, the feeling was probably mutual. Keep looking at me like that, motherfuckers. Eventually, she gave up, and made her way over to the glass. Her hands gripped the rail tightly enough that one might worry it would buckle, as she stared out into space. |

Baesal did not pay attention to the new human at first but could not help but notice her grip on the rails. She wondered for a second and cursed her instincts even as she followed them. "Something wrong?" She asked, slightly turning towards the other girl. |

Ugh... conversation. "Everything's wrong," she said, not even looking at the alien as she gave an answer that of course answered nothing. That said, to the observant there were things that might get picked up on. The accent was definitely Outer Rim, and definitely neither proper Imperial or proper Republic. Her attire also made it clear she wasn't some imperial brat whose family was thrilled to have their girl sent to the academy. |

''At least you know it...'' She said turning back to her original position, catching the vibe. ''...and it could be worse.'' she added If the human girl wanted to chat she had something to go on and if not...well she could just ignore that, Baesal supposed |

"You some wannabe Sith too?" One might indeed be getting the distinct impression that this trip to the academy was not by Layne's choice. "Play 'round with some laser swords and drool over your heroes?" She turned her head, noticing she was talking to an alien. Thing she'd learned about Imperials the past couple a years was that they didn't like aliens much. But then there'd been that alien a bit earlier who'd been getting respect so... who knew. Things just didn't make sense. |

''More or less'' the alien replies and gives a shrug ''Its either that or they execute me...so it's that. But still...getting the opportunity to succeed and, of course, stick it in their faces might be somewhat pleasurable.'' She smiled exposing her razorsharp dentition ''I'm Baesal Zyn'' |

There was a wish as the doors to the observation deck drew open. Striding through them, Nunki was dressed in a long, dark brown robe and her hair pushed back out of her face. She made her way to the railing, not even noticing the human and togruta at first. It wasn't until she came back into reality that she heard their conversation. "I do hope I'm not intruding on anything." She said, somewhat apologetically. |

She debated how to respond to that. On the one hand, it seemed she had a lot in common with this alien. On the other hand, she was too invested in the brooding 'I hate everything' mindset to break character and be nice to people just because of a few shared features. "Layne Hoshin," she finally said; with enough attitude to satiate her mood. She turned back to the void. "They didn't tell me nothing. I was pretty sure they were going to execute me for killing a sith, but then they wouldn't let me walk around like this." Then someone intruded, earning her a glare. Well shit. |

The sith killing part made Baesal raise an eyebrow and she gave a whistle ''That is, rumored, to be no small feat, Layne'' Her ear twitched when she heard the swishhhh sound and she turned to face the second human ''Heh'' she answered with the same smile |

"I'll take that as a no." She smiles, sticking herself to the other side of the Human, leaving the Torgruta between the two. She seems pleasant... "You know, probably quite a few acolytes who should have been executed." She says, jokingly. "The force thingy probably helps us avoid that." She never drops her smile. |

''Why kill us when they can try to turn us into their weapon?'' she said softly, eyeing the guards ''Try is the keyword here'' |

Cause that worked out so well the last one She wasn't sure she liked being flanked by two strangers like this. She *was* sure she didn't like all this smiling; people were usually up to no good when they smiled at her. Well, whatever. She could use them the same as she used the others. "Force thingy?" |

''Space magic'' The Togruta confirmed nodding ''Those born with the ability to use it are very rare indeed, making us quite valuable.'' |

"Valuable and disposable, heh." She says, pausing for a moment. Her smile has disappeared, her tone now more serious than before. "I'm not sure that's the word I'd use. More like heavily regulateable. If people saw some non-sith fling around playing with the force, it'd break the fickle balance the Empire, Sith, and the citizens have." She looked past the Togruta to the other human, seemingly analyzing her. Gotta be careful around that one... |

She felt the analyzing stare and returned it with a glare. "If you say so," she said. Wasn't like she knew or cared enough about the politics that were involved to comment. "Don't see what's such a big deal about throwing shit around without touching it." |

Baesal's smile lessened and, after a subtle sweep of the room, decided to reply to Layne's comment. "I'd agree with you but Force allows for much more. I heard tales about bring able to sense the future, shoot lightining from the tips of one's fingers, mind reading and much more...The Force is a powerful tool that cannot be countered, easily making force users an elite force on that basis alone." She replaces one of her lekku "Then there is the whole religious aspect they give to the force." |

"I can personally attest to the mind reading." She smiles. "Quite handy. Baesal, I doubt I could have said it better myself." |

"Anyone read my mind and they're dead," she said, as if she half expected one of them to try right here and now. She shrugged. "And it's obviously banthashit that you can't counter it. That's just what they tell people." |

"Maybe not easily countered, then..." She gives a reassuring shrug at the menace "Don't worry, thats not how I want to develop my abilities. I'm more on the engineering side of things" She then shakes her head to return on subject. "While the force is powerful, its the religious side of things that hides the real danger...especially for us" She gives a wary look at Nunki "Where do you come from, dear?" |

She raised an eyebrow "The prison" she simply said "I got to ask: are you one of the poufs or one of their servant?" |

"Well, more recently I was in the prison. I more meant your homeworld. Though, may I ask you to elaborate more on that, though? Don't quite get your meaning." She looked quizzically at the pair for a moment. She doesn't seem like the prisoner type. The other girl... |

"Kabaira," she said when she felt the gaze move over to her. It was some outer rim world known for... well, fog. Probably. It had been so long ago. "Around after that. Then Kessel." Kessel, of course, was known for its lovely spice mines; reputed to be among the most absolutely horrifying places in the galaxy. |

The Togruta mauled over what to say "I come from Mith II, one of the moon of a gaz giant. I was forcefully removed from there to go visit the Empire's prisons after they took it away from the Republic." She leaned back on the rail "By pouf I mean the little nobles who look overly self-important...are you working with or for them?" She said with a percing stare towards Nunki. |
