A low whistle excited through the rooms, somewhat muffled by the tomes of lore, boxes of paper, and assorted other recording media. "Someone has their work cut out."

Jo'ren suddenly began to wonder if this was a boon or a curse from Lord Savas to the new Librarian. Either way, he had some (hopefully) important information to find.

"Okay then. Digital archive first." Walking over to the terminal he started looking for an entry on the journals of the Sith ascetic, Yunkai Mun.

Due to a slight timewarp Jo'ren actually had a book with him when he entered the library. What he needed now was a way of translating it, so he looked around to see what the library had to offer.

A droid and since holocron appeared to be the answers. Those and the digital storage. Jo'ren started looking for anything that resembled a primer for translating the ancient version of the Sith language found in the book into a more modern version that he could read.

The droid, R3-G3, deposits the equivalent of Ancient Sith for Dummies to Jo’ren.

"Who you calling a... Oh, I get it. Thanks R3."

Translating this was going to take time, but he had the string feeling it was going to prove worthwhile. After grappling with the basics of ancient Sith grammar for half an hour he got to work on the first page.

The first page is a journal entry:

Master says I should commit my words and record my thoughts. I think he is a fool but he is the Master and I am the apprentice and I would suffer his wrath if I failed in my duties. He is strong and I am weak, but in time I will be stronger.

I will not be weak.

That wasn't exactly what he was expecting. Was this Koro, or an apprentice? Judging by the context in which he has found the book he assumed it had to be Koro himself.

Intrigued, Jo'ren read on.

(OOC: How many pages in the journal? Is this a three week effort to translate it? :) )

OOC: Definitely be a long slog, he could probably digitize it and process it through the school systems for a much faster translation but it would not be private.

Jo'ren will selfishly keep it private. Can't have just anyone reading this...

The next entry:

I watched Master kill Juvi, she was my friend. I liked her. I do not understand why she had to die, he said she was weak. Made me weak. I was angry and I tried to strike him, he left me broken on the ground. I am angry.

Is this what it feels like to be powerless?

I will get stronger and avenge Juvi, Master will know how it feels to be the powerless one.

Hmm. Glad I don't keep a journal.

He carefully flicked through the book to see how many pages there were and whether it seemed to become different chapters or was just a commentary. Pictures might be nice.

There are well over a hundred pages but only about three fourths of the text is filled, no real chapters just entries made on consecutive pages. There are diagrams and rough made sketches of varying stances but no real meaning to them until deciphered.

Art was not this person's strong point.

He whistles softly. This is going to be a long process. Let's see what you've got Koro.

Returning to the beginning he flipped to the next page and began the process of decoding the ancient language. It was getting slightly easier, but was still a time consuming process.

Hope it'll be worth all this effort.

Another Entry:

Master was careless today, he mentioned the Dark Lotus Stance,. I tried to press him on the matter. He beat me, but I caught his hand and threw him to the ground. The other students did not know what to do.

He did not kill me.

I wanted to kill him, but he is the keeper of knowledge. I meditated. The Force set me free, it is the one place where I can be alone. Tomorrow I will be stronger, tomorrow will be better.

Another Entry:

I understand the true path now.

The Dark Lotus Stance? Just call me Darth 'trigued!

This was more like it. Jo'ren ploughed on through another page, unable to think about anything else. It was what he was searching for: the true path.
