The Dark Academy on Korriban

Sylvain tripping over words was, unusual. Inspiring Kristal's right brow to rise in question. Then he pushed on past and moved to the next step. Kristal didn't intend on pressing him.

"I.. we need to know what truly happened. As long as only we are aware of this we may yet figure out what is true and what is not. Regardless of what that truth is the three of us can see to it."

He nodded, but inside felt quite dejected. It was yet another miserable failure on the Kristal front... but maybe by moving on to the next battle he'd have a better chance. Now really didn't seem like the time to push his luck.

"I guess we should see what this artifact is worth then huh?" He asked.

"That would appear our next step," she confirmed.

Kristal was confident things would work out for the best. The more she thought of it, the more she spoke to them the more it seemed that not only was the chance her father being innocent true but even more importantly that they would stick together through it. After all, her family was her entire life. That included Shaisha and Sylvain. Though she had no worries for the former, this high stakes type stuff had a likelihood to end the latter.

That she stood beside him now, excavating this artifact with no worries for their joint future. There was some hope that she could overcome anything the world threw at her. Rona, whoever.

Kristal wasn't at all ready for what news would come merely a few hours later. What was happening elsewhere in the galaxy likely at this very moment.

For one of them a success, and for one a total failure... well perhaps not total since Kristal felt better.

Either way, Sylvain walked down the hill to the point where they were to have their artifact instructed. They'd be surprised when the official in charge commented how rare what they found was.

Offering a silent smile of congratulations to his friend, Sylvain wondered when he'd get the chance to see her so content again.

Little did he know that things were about to change even more drastically than they had before.
