Not everything can be solved with a lightsaber.. That was fair enough, but now that he had an inkling of what they had just sealed away, Jo'ren was determined to find out more. What was a lightsaber savant exactly and how could he become one? It sounded like the sort of thing a Rath should be, so it was time for an adventure.

Once the work had been done and the others had left he began to look around the complex for...he wasn't sure what, he just knew there was something else here for him to find. If there was one chamber, perhaps there would be another?

Jo’ren received a message from Thy, “I feel asleep… because Sith are so boring. Actually I got busy hunting down a nikto assassin, but that was not as good a burn. You know the nikto have like a whole religious sect dedicated to killing force users? Who knew?”

There are old faded pictographs and paintings on the wall depicting the ancient sith, much of it faded to almost oblivion.

He replied with a few short lines. -Yawn. Actually killing an Assassin sounds like fun. I admit to a tiny amount of jealousy. I'm in a ruined temple or something. Powerful duellist, etc. Looking for... Something.-

The communicator was replaced on his belt and Jo'ren turned his flashlight on the images trying to make them out. A though occurred to him and he accessed his force Sense, just in case the pictographs had infused with dark force energy. Or something was sneaking up on him. Either way, he touched the wall and opened himself to the force.

Jo’ren can see spectral images of sith and humans training… fading glimpses with his sense ability and can feel the amount of anger and focus these by gone people had. He has a feeling of violent asceticism; ritualistic scarification, shattering stone with their fists, and beating each other with whips.

Another text arrives from Thy, “I didn’t kill the assassin; I arrested him. Not everything needs people to die. Powerful duelist? Sounds interesting, who was he? Got to go, falling. No really.”

"Interesting... That's one way to channel your rage."

Curious that they had taken this route, but perhaps the extreme focus on pain was what had given this Koro his skills.

"What were you thinking Koro? Where did this come from?"

He followed the images along the corridor and deeper into the structure. Thy's next message caused him to roll his eyes, and he tucked the communicator back into his belt, focusing on what was around him.

Running his fingers along the rock he traced out some of the pictographs and then concentrated on the activities of the specters to see if they might lead him somewhere. The sensation of the rock on his fingertips was pleasingly rough and he had a wave of empathy with the sect and their desires.

Blinking it back he pulled out his comlink again. -You have finished falling I presume? I also find it amusing that you are lecturing me on not killing people. Oh, and a fellow named Koro, who enjoyed self flagellation and ritual scarification. Delightful chap by the looks of things.-

Jo’ren can see the pull of he force guiding him to another chamber where he can hear ghostly mutterings.

There is no immediate reply.

Correction there is a voice reply that is five seconds of blaster fire and lightsaber sounds.

- Messaging while you fight? I'm starting to think you're just showing off. Is it because I'm so damned good-looking? -

The sounds are felt through the force as much as heard, and Jo'ren allows himself to be drawn towards them. He cautiously enters the chamber and looks for the source.

He sees a lithe human male with tanned worn skin and several scars and cuts all over his face and body. Shorn hair, clean shaven with two lightsabers floating in front of him chanting some ancient sutra.

From here it was hard to tell if this was a ghost or a living being. Surely it had to be the former given how long this structure had been around.

He reached out with the Force towards the figure to see if he could feel any emotions. Jo'ren made no attempt to conceal his approach, stopping at a point that gave them plenty of space. Assuming the spirit would speak with him at all.

Jo'ren uses sense. It is highly effective. The dark side heeded his call.

Jo’ren is not so much seeing a ghost but an echo from some distant past but this echo has a cooling rage and in a moment he sees the eyes open and the figure flare with rage and the force. He grasps his lightsaber and says something in now forgotten tongue and walks into the room he just left.

The others turn to him perhaps shocked and then the slaughter begins. His lightsabers are unstoppable, every strike is near perfection effortless and deadly. Limbs are removed with ease and lives lost with no wasted effort. He dances through the chambers slaughtering all who come upon him, none live and then the vision ends and he sees the ruined hall and a broken metallic object that perhaps was a training blade of some novice.

After a few moments Jo'ren realised his mouth was hanging open. It had been so vivid, so real, so...beautiful! Was this Koro? It must have been. An echo of his brilliance.

Moving through the hall he approached the glinting metal object. Dropping down into a crouch he reached out and grasped it, removing it from its resting place. He peered intently at it to see what it actually was.

Chipped piece of blade, a relic from a long ago battle maybe? It was clack and broken and not terribly sharp after all this time.

A message comes through, “You’re fun to talk to, don’t get ahead of yourself though. Had to chase after some slavers. They tried to drop a speeder on me so I jumped. Freefall is fun. That’s another thing I do… freefall.”

Now that's unusual. Was it a trophy or something else?. He reached out with the Force again to see if there was anything imprinted on it.

He gets the impression of youthful exuberance and then pain.

Probably just part of a long dead novice's weapon then. He tucked the piece into his utility belt and pressed on into the next room, following the path the force vision had taken. He kept his sense up in case there was more to see.

- Hmm, free-fall actually does sound like fun. I'm just chasing beauty in ancient ruins. -

He can feel the hum o fthe force dissipate it seems whatever needed to be shared was shared… or shown.

“What does beauty look like in old stuffy sith ruins?” she texts back after a few minutes.

You wanted me to see this thing, but why?. Jo'ren pulled the metallic object out again and looked at it more closely, turning it over in his hand and shining the flashlight on it. Was it a piece of Koro's scarification knife? Youthful exuberance... Did one of the acolytes steal this? Is that why Koro turned on them? And if so, what in the force is it?

"I'm not sure you would understand. The force revealed something to me. I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is and why."

As he sent the message to Thy he leaned up against one of the frescoes in the main hall. There was the curious sensation of movement as something was revealed.

A small compartment opens and inside is an old tuk'ata leather bound journal perhaps, hand written.

"..."

Replacing his gloves Jo'ren reached inside the compartment and very carefully removed the book. He looked inside the small compartment, which appeared to have been hermetically sealed. Very gingerly he lifted the cover and attempted to read whatever it said on the very first page.

Unfortunately he couldn't quite make it out. But there was always the library. He thought for a moment and then sent a message to Thy.

-I'm sending something. Tell me if you can translate. Please.- He then proceeded to type in the characters as best he could. There has to be some advantage to this friendship...

“This better not be some trick to give me the dark side. I will check it out, meatbag. Give me some time on this,” she replies after a few minutes.

“Yeah I can crack this, scan the text and send it, pretty interesting journal. Who’s Koro?” she adds in another text.
