The Dark Academy on Korriban

"If you're talking about..." a quick glance to the Zabrak before she turned back to Kristal; "...the one that slighted both of us. Then I agree."

With a look to Thorne, "I do not know if you have met. This is Layne Hoshin, another one of Overseer Thaine's favorite students." Kristal left the inflection in her voice do most of the talking there. Sarcasm was fun.

"I can as well attest to her strength. Having seen her in combat myself. Without her aid I would not have survived to see this day."

Thorne nods and says, “No love lost for the Overseer, she’s a right awful priss, so I could stand to see her taken down.”

"The only question is how to get away with it."

"How best to do it, is the question I intend to ask. There are fates worse to some than others," Kristal was careful with her words. Intent was clear, as it were, but she had no fantasies that her words were going to be kept merely to these two. Ears were all over in places like this.

"There is a good deal we must learn first."

"Well, I know she's pretty damn good with a lightsaber."

OOC: Flipping a Destiny for reasons, carry on.

"There is no doubt she will be good with that, contesting her in such a manner... it would be more than she deserves. No, we need something more than simply that."

Looking around, "Things are in motion, but they require some time. Learn of what you can but attempt not to attract more attention. Prepare yourself otherwise."

She shrugged.

"Just keep me informed."

"You will be," Kristal stated in a way that inspired confidence.

She crossed her arms, seeming slightly amused by something.

"You realize that the first guy gunning for her job when she's gone will be that Deathwright guy."

"I do not think it impossible, but a pathetic man like that would not last long," Kristal added with a smirk, recalling just how quickly Deathwright had elected himself for the position that no one even cared to fill with the absence of Veers.

"Actually expecting us to be intimidated by him after we killed that shadow beast. What a tool."

She seemed to realize something.

"Oh, that's what they're called by the way. Shadow beasts. Real fucking clever. Apparently they're... unnatural manifestations of the force, or something like that."

First a Jedi, then a Shadow beast. What was next? At this rate the whole school maybe.

"Though the name is lacking, it's presence is certainly not. That creature was without purpose, darkness made pure. I would not wish to run into one again. You have my thanks for sharing that, it is enlightening."

"Zeno Deathwright," she returned, "seeks validation."

"Meaning he'll never find it," she said, scoffing at the notion. "It's not the sort of thing others can give you."

Kristal gave Layne a firm nod with that, she was growing to respect her more and more. Gaining that confidence of herself again, crossing her arms behind her back and taking a more military stance as a habit almost.

"Precisely."
