Lord Savas gives a lecture on the campaigns of Ajunta Pall but he gets sidetrekked by a minor detail when he speaks on the battle of the Oribar wastes and begins to speak about a little known figure named Lord Oshin.

Lord Oshin was a military commander responsible for securing this region of Korriban, but the man was killed and succeeded by one of his slave-wives, Hariel-sha. Lord Oshin was one of the original Jedi that left the Republic and came to Korriban and aided Ajunta Pall in conquering the native sith.

He finishes the side trek with pointing out the locations of battles. He sighs and says, “I would read Conquests of Ajunta Pall, volumes 1 and 2 for greater depth on this subject.”

Somewhat suprisingly Jo'ren turned up for Lord Savas' lectures today. Never knew what you might learn, and he actually kind of liked the old guy. He felt like there should always be someone like Lord Savas at an Academy.

So he sat at the back and tried to focus on the interesting bits of the stories. It mostly worked.

(OOC: I'll be slow to respond to anything, but figure I should be here.)

It was perhaps odd to see Shaisha willingly attend such a lecture when they were out in such an interesting place. It was even more odd to see her pay close attention to Savas' lecture, making notes and being a very dutiful student.

Surprisingly, Layne was present for the lecture too. But perhaps that was destiny. She listened quietly as Savas explained. It didn't seem to be anything she didn't already know, thus far at least. When the mention of Hariel-Sha came, her fingers idly traced over the hilt of her lightsaber, remembering the fight she had with the woman's ghost, and the vision of how she'd killed Lord Oshin.

Baesal did not like Lord Savas but she was certainly intent on getting the knowledge he had

As he rumbled on about the minor details she took copious notes as well as the recommended reading

Great more things to read

Jo'ren's commlink beeps with a message.

Lord Savas sighs and says, “By all means please answer this most important message. It’s not like I am trying to make you lot better by educating you in the history of the dark powers that formed the Sith in the first place.”

Don't you hate it when you're the jerk who forgot to turn off your comlink? Not if you're Jo'ren Rath. Jo'ren don't give a monkey-lizard. Plus it could be his soon-to-be Master.

"Okay, thanks Lord Savas. Ajunta Pall 1 & 2, got it." He walked away from the group before looking to see who it was from.

It is from Kalen.

“Yep got a job that is taking us to Tattooine, probably won’t be headed to Imperial space till things simmer down between you guys and the Republic. Or if I find another sweet score. You keeping out of trouble kid?”

Jun-Tsu was obviously there being the student of dark history that she was, but today's lecture could only hold her interest so much. She was descended from the jen'jidai so talk about the first rebel jedaii was repetitive and she found herself flicking through her datapad idly as Savas continued his lecture waiting for something of interest.

/mostly just showing that I would be here.

He typed out a response and hit send.

-I was in an ancient history class, thanks for the save! Not keeping out of trouble as such, but dealing out more trouble than I've received. On the road to graduation. Things are unlikely to simmer down for a while, but I'm sure we'll all meet again one of these days. If you find that score let me know, and say hey to Gorbie and The Tin Can for me.-

Zeno had also been there for the lecture, content to sit and listen. He had his datapad out to take notes.

Post subject:  Re: [Day 5 - MA] Lectures on Stuff

“Someone has been reading,” he says with surprises and starts pacing and says, “The Grand Palace was one of the most beautiful structures in this hemisphere at the time of Ajunta Pall, one part palatial estate another part fortress and a final part religious center it served as a center of culture and knowledge. Built by Lord Oshin and his cohorts it was to honor Ajunta Pall and their conquests.”

“Now in this time the sith were not as we know them today this is before much of the breeding programs by the early Sith, they were more savage and primitive, yet still strong on the Force. It was not uncommon for these early dark Jedi to take slave wives and slave husbands from the primal sith, those that had proven themselves loyal and strong in the force. These would be the first of many strong bloodlines. In fact most sith of what they call pure bloodlines are descended from these early lines.”

“There are also human lineages that descend from these bloodlines, and in the early days of the Empire it was these lines that were revered as the true Sith. Times have changed.” He coughs and taps his cane.

“Now where was I… yes the Grand Palace, built over a period of ten years it was an oasis in the red sands. Many great duels were fought on the grounds and it was actually built on the bones of a previous structure called the Vault of Haradim-she, an ancient tribal queen of the sith in their more primitive days. She conquered most of this region and had an empire in the old days. It of course fell apart upon her demise, and her children are to blame. A pity.”

"The Grand Palace was eventually toppled after the defeat of Ajunta Pall and his exile to Ziost. It was used in parts over the intervening ages but was eventually lost to the ravages of time and war and neglect.”

She raised her hand once more

''Do we know where The Palace and the Vault of Haradim-she used to be?''

“Consult the digital collection and look for Holographic Survey of Korriban 17F, which should have the most recent satellite scans of the region. Could be 16F, it’s been about four years since I last checked.”

He adds, “The Vault is not actually visible but you can look at subsurface scans to get a general layout, thinking of tomb raiding? That area was a popular with scavengers but maybe… there is something of value.”

Post subject:  Re: [Day 5 - MA] Lectures on Stuff

Layne frowned as Baesal made that inquiry. But any annoyance at it was quickly forgotten by the words spoken by Savas, and she seemed quite satisfied.

True sith, eh?

Then came the talk of structures buried, and places popular with scavengers. And she was still satisfied. After all, it was very likely there was going to be stuff there that only Layne could access, right?

Baesal takes some notes then asks again

''Thank you my lord. Was it in the time of Ajunta Pall that the Sith found a way to synthetize khyber crystals or did that come later?''

Author:  Lord Savas [ Wed Oct 26, 2016 12:41 am ]
Post subject:  Re: [Day 5 - MA] Lectures on Stuff

“In that era, the exiles utilized their lightsabers thy brought with them. The native sith… it is unclear though they had techniques or technology to strengthen their weapons to withstand lightsabers. Such weapons are rare in this modern age. The knowledge to create such tools that meld dark side force energy with mundane metals is all but forgotten,” he says calmly.

“Khyber crystal synthesis was developed in this era but records are not precise on when or why red became the de facto Sith color, most likely because of the ancient sith and their crimson skin tones. Either way the process has been refined over the centuries though still costly.”

“For a low born alien, you have interesting questions.”
