Zeno arrives at Baesal's tent with a pack and some tools borrowed from the dig site. He had contacted her over comms earlier to see if she could give him a hand with building a helmet. She was kind enough to agree. He suspected that another favor would be due for the assistance, but with how relatively minor this was he hoped she'd not worry about it.

Baesal was already up and got out of the tent when she heard someone approaching

''Oh, good morning Zeno. What is worth the visit?''

"Got a small project," he says. "Not as secret as yours, and likely not as complex. It can be hard to make an art collage of me that truly does my beauty justice." He smirks at that.

He sets his pack down on the ground and takes all the things out setting them down. Among them a prepared and cleaned head of a tuk'ata.

"I took this trophy from a successful hunt yesterday. And I'm looking to turn it into a helmet that incorporates some of my gear. Scanner goggles, comlink and breathmask. I was burning hourse last night trying to figure out how to get it all to fit properly. Doable?"

She looks at the skull

''Yes it should.'' she scratches her chin ''But I want two things in return: bragging rights about the craft and your help while making it''

She smirks

''A fair deal?''

"If you want, you can tag it. The only bragging rights I want for it is the kill. You can burn reasonably small initials into the back side here, that way if people ask I'll explain. And I wouldn't dream of not helping out with the work," he says with a nod. "Also, some initials for Shaisha. She did the heavy lifting for prepping the skull."

She smiles wide

''Well then, let's do it!''

Baesal got to work her magic for Zeno this once. Little sparks ran along the skull, carving it and installing the pieces

''There you go''

Zeno makes sure to hand her the tools as she asks for them, holding things in place as needed and keeping everything steady. When it finally is complete he looks on with a smile, taking in the sight of the creation. It was beautiful. He was even pleased with the marks of the crafters, reminders that there were people willing to assist and hook him up.

"Beautiful work Baesal. Absolutely amazing." He then slips the trophy onto his head, the elastic face mask section keeping it firmly in place.

''Thank you but I think you are over playing it'' she says with a smile

"Not, really," he says through the helmet. "This thing is mor comfortable than I expected." He pulls it off and sets it aside. Suddenly, inexplicably, and out of nowhere he leans forward, grabs her by the head and gives a big friendly kis on her forhead for a second before letting go an pulling away. "Thanks!"

After the hug he lets her go and holds her shoulders at arms length. It was like an adult encouraging achild throwing a tantrum. "You did such a good job. You're the best." He has a wide smile before letting her go.

Baesal was red with rage and embarassement

''Yeah well better enjoy it while it lasts, jerk face!''

He looks at her seriously, staring her right in the eyes, calming down. "I really do appreciate you, Baesal Zyn. You may have trust issues with me. And I can guess your life before force sensitivity contributes to that, but I watch my comrade's backs and take care of them."

Baesal calms down but crosses her harms

"That is better be the truth...you put us into trouble with that attitude of yours."

She then glares evilly at Zeno

"But even if its the truth...it won't save you from a knuckle sandwich the next time you go kissy face!"

Because that was apparently a threat, not a good one though

"Do you promise?" He asks with a smile. "If you knew what my last session with a beautiful woman was like you might not threaten to punch me."

Then his face goes serious once again, staring her right in the eyes. "And I absolutely mean it. Working with all of you has been greatly enjoyable. And while you haven't had the chance to see it yet since we haven't run into anything dangerous, you'll find that I'm willing to fight, bleed and die to protect my comrades."

"We will see soon enough"

She scratches her head

"Standing to right is one thing...choosing when to and how to is a other question."

"It's always a delicate balance when dealing with comrades that potentially oppose one another. In the case of the expedition later, I'd prefer things to be worked out amicably without my involvement, but if I must get involved then I'll try to make sure that all parties can come away with something they value. I'd prefer not to take sides against anyone I enjoy working with. But sometimes situations lead to that," he says. "But we will see what happens. The situation will need to coalesce to determine how I will act."

You miss my point

"You don't have much foresight, do you?"

She gives a sigh

"But you are military, you are train to react"

"Pilots tend to live in the moment and be reactionary," he replies with a shrug. "Thinking too far ahead means you don't have your eye on your six or your wing man. Aggression and quick thinking in the moment are how we survive. Making maneuvers and control second nature are necessary. I was never a strategist. That's why you are the brains of our plans and for the most part my insights come in the moment. That is what I offer to our cooperation. I can appreciate where you are coming from but I am not a master of the long game like you. And if you need me to see the long game that you see you're going to have to show it to me."

He smiles at her, "But you don't want to show it to me because you doubt me. And until we're in the shit and I get nearly eaten to keep you alive as I have for others," at which point he opens his jacket to reveal the fresh, vicious scars from Death's Shadow, "You probably won't, even though I wish you would. As a military man, as you said, my view towards a team has always been we before me. I got this protecting people I knew for all of fifteen minutes. And you guys mean more to me than that."
