Yesterday Kristal Serasai had captured a Republic Sergeant. Given the promises that were made and her inability to return to camp given her own personal dealings she hadn't seen to their situation till now. Though she placed plenty enough trust that Imperial Soldiers would do as they were told. For better or worse, Kristal Serasai made her way to check up on their prisoner. |

The duros was in an energy cell, Weaver had organized a watch for her and Biggs pus a droid were on duty. The duros seemed well if a bit hungry. She did not look mistreated though. |

While eating her breakfast, Layne had noticed Kristal's march on towards where they kept prisoners and what not. Not having anything better to do, Layne decided to shovel the last of her meal inside before following. By the time that Kristal arrived at her destination, she would almost surely have become aware of the bored-looking Layne following her. Not that she'd been trying to go unnoticed. |

Standing near the cell, arms crossed behind her back Kristal seemed appeased with the way things appeared. With that assured she called back to the one following her. Whomever it had been. "Did you require something?" |

"Nah," she said. "Just curious." She too stood with her arms crossed; only in front of her instead of at her back. "What's with the Duros." |

"Republic prisoner. Recovered from a destroyed camp," she stated. Turning a bit to look at Layne, "It has been some time Layne. Overseer Thaine had proven herself less of a threat than I could afford to give effort to removing. I owe you that explanation for not contacting you as arranged." |

She looked at the prisoner, wondering if perhaps she would add something to Kristal's introduction, then turned back to Kristal when the conversation shifted. "That's not much of an explanation," she said. |

"Yet it is precisely the information you asked for. What more of an explanation do you require?" she asked. |

"She tried to have you killed. And somehow you couldn't be bothered to make an effort?" She said the words, but she honestly didn't care. |

"If I stopped in my tracks for every person who tried to have me killed I would get nowhere. Rona Thaine attempted to have us killed to stop us from becoming Sith, the best chance at revenge is succeeding despite her." |

"Well I don't really give a shit, but that sounds like the kind of sentimental lie your boyfriend would tell himself." |

Captain Harad approached and then stopped seeing the two Sith in conversation. He was checking on the prisoner but saw no reason to intervene. |

"Except unlike Sylvain, I do not deal in lies. Especially not to myself..." At least, not anymore. "Rona Thaine is simply not worth my time. Not yours either Layne. She has already proven to be a failure when it comes to attempts on our lives. All bark and no bite." Kristal's words were cold and precise. Captain Harad bore Kristal's notice but that was all for now. |

"So, recognize he's a liar, do you? Well, at least that's something I guess." |

"Hmm." Was her only response on that topic. For a long time she had known perhaps, but she certainly never thought it would be to her. Sentimental nonsense. |

"I got to tell you, defending a man after admitting he's a liar is pretty messed up. Maybe knowing him for a long time just means he's had longer to get his hooks in you." |

"A man is not only one thing. Sylvain is... an idiot, a liar, but he is not without his own merits. Do you know what loyalty means? Family? I have known Sylvain since we were children. He is family. Even now." |

"Careful now Layne. I worry you are getting dangerously close to caring about someone other than yourself," she said with a smirk. "Unfortunately I have learned my lessons well already. There is something I can do for the Empire. Something more than a majority of the rising Sith seem capable of." |
