Jaina speaks, "I like a challenge. You can use your saber."

"So do I," she replies, "Even though I get the sense that this will be that even if I give myself the advantage of a weapon. Still, I would prefer to fight on equal terms if I can afford it."

Jaina nods and drops into a combat crouch and rushes forward with a series of punches and weaving back and forth she was quick and only lands a light strike from a spinning kick when she sees a crack in the defenses.

OOC: Jaina deals 5 strain to Krystal, reduced to 0 due to soak.

Under the assault Kristal had to buckle down, keep up her defense. Leaving her without the ability to keep her opponent guessing.

Jaina makes her pay for her sloppy defense with a knee to her side. She continues the assault with brutal punches that until she shatters the defense and breaks Kristal’s nose. Kristal kicks out and causes Jaina to relent her assault.

OOC: Jaina does 5 damage, 0 wounds after soak but scores a Critical Injury; Jaina takes 1 strain due to threat and Kristal takes 1 strain due to threat.

Critical Injury: 1d100 54 - Fearsome Wound increase the difficulty of all Presence and Willpower checks by 1.

With the wonders of modern medicine, Kristal didn't let something like a broken nose stop her from at least giving a bit back to her counterpart. Though in the wake of the hit she wasn't quite able to make land her own, she found the resolve in it and more importantly the footing to make the next one a bit more likely.

Jaina took a moment to observe her opponent and then rushed forward with a flurry of kicks only to end with a spinning punch to the chest.

OOC: Kristal suffers 3 strain after soak and Jaina uses Aim as her free maneuver.

Kristal was pushed back with that spinning punch to the chest, losing her footing for a moment but that put her down on a knee. A knee she used to line up a straight shot right to Jaina's face, looking to give her a return gift for her own broken nose, or at least a wicked shiner.

Jaina sees the attack and catches the strike and redirects it away from her and follows that with a palm thrust to the middle of her chest. She over extends though and is a bit off balance.

OOC: Jaina takes a setback on her next Check due to Threat. She does 1 Strain to Kristal. Jaina suffers 3 Strain to Parry reducing damage to 2 strain and soaks that.

Looking to capitalize on the over-extension, Kristal moved in to make her move. Performing a bit of a back and forth that culminated in a whole lot of nothing. Putting her in no better and no worse of a position.

The back forth continued as they exchanged blows and parried until Jaina saw an opportunity and did a gentle push, unfortunately Kristal was standing too near a table with a large of water which went splashing everywhere dousing her quite thoroughly as the table shattered sending training weapons clattering to the ground.

Jaina offers a hand and says, “You put up a good fight.”

OOC: Using Triumph to end the fight, unless Kristal wants more.

Now that, that made her feel quite alive. Drenched as she was, beaten as she was, continuing to fight wasn't on the table. In fact, nothing was. After checking the extent of how soaked she was, brushing some blood of her lip from the broken nose Kristal reached up and gave that resounding clap as their hands came together. Letting Jaina help her up.

"Good fight, but I am still dead," she said with a grin.

“Learning to fight unarmed is important, there are many times you may not be able to use a lightsaber or a blaster,” she says helping Kristal to her feet.

"Make yourself a weapon and you will never be defenseless," she chimed as ground was placed beneath her feet once again.

“That’s the basic idea,” she says.

"I should probably see to this," she said, bringing a hand near her nose and getting a reminder of the pain associated with the injury. "It was fun, but insightful as well. You have my thanks for the direct attention today."

“May the Force make you strong,” she says and turns to watching the students.

With a nod, Kristal as off toward the main building once again.
