The Dark Academy on Korriban

Zeno was relaxing. He wasn't just showering, but full on relaxing. He had brought a stool in with him and sat on it fully exposed to anyone that decided they also wanted a night time shower before their eventual trip to Yavin.

And he was singing quietly. A very popular pop song. He was not good at it.

One last thing before bed, a nice and relaxing shower. That was the plan, and like all best laid plans...

There was a jump back, an eye or two that caught far more than she wanted to see of someone she's never met and immediately, instinctively, averted her eyes. "Don't these doors have locks!?" she said, sounding rather annoyed.

He opens his eyes and looks away from the ceiling so that the water stops splashing his face, seeing the new arrival. "Probably?" His tone makes it sound like he's not embarrassed and gives zero shits.

"Why?"

"Are you an animal?" Perhaps in the past that question wouldn't have been the first to have come to her lips, but given the people she's met during her stay here well....

Kristal half turns so her neck can rest a bit easier while still keeping him directly out of sight. Then she continues, that cool Imperial tone clear in her voice. Had she been undressed before she entered, well, good thing she wasn't.

"Or... something else?" Hedonist, could have been one of the words she might have used.

"I'm someone that has years of experience sharing public showers during my military training," he replies. "Trains the bashful out of you when you share a refresher without stalls with 50 trainees regardless of gender."

He really must see nothing wrong with this... in the slightest.

"I've seen far more than what you've got. And I'm not about to jump on you. Just trying to relax."

Anya enters, disrobes and finds a place to shower. She says aloud from her stall, “I didn’t think anyone would be up.”

"Yeah. We can sleep on the way to Yavin," Zeno says, with a shrug. Still not bashful about his appearance.

Veers laughs and says, “We don’t leave for Yavin till the evening, it’s a three day trip from what I saw.”

“Ever been to the Yavin system?”

"Yes. Planetary pilot training in forest terrain," he says with a nod.

With that topic no longer necessary Kristal saw to moving herself to another, less exposed stall. Seeing her clothing off with the speed and precision of that military upbringing.

Shower on, and then she added, "What is the Climate like there?"

"It's a jungle. Hot, wet and covered with vegetation and wildlife. Very wild," he replies. "Plenty of insects. Bring a net if you don't like getting bitten."

He chomps his teeth loudly a few times before leaning his hair back into the shower, without it soaking his face so he could continue talking.

"By the way, don't think we've been formally introduced. Zeno Deathwright."

Kristal response didn't come immediately, depending on just how high the stalls walls went it might have been a slight bit of a question. Stepping directly under the stream of water she stuck her head in. Water cascading over her head as she brought a hand up to either side and pulled them through her hair till she separated her fingers at the ends.

Stepping away again she let the water flower from her head, from her hair before speaking again.

"Kristal Serasai," came the answer from her stall.

Anya says, “Anya Veers, it’s a pleasure Zeno.”

"Serasai?" he said. Not surprise, just curiosity. "I think my parents have hosted the head of your household and vice versa."

"Ah... the surprise aspirant," he says with a smile clear in his voice. "Been hearing good things about you. Congratulations on your discovery."

"Veers," Kristal repeats to herself and recalls the woman just as Zeno makes the connection for her. Ensign Veers, a surprising woman to most. But that she manifested such force powers so quickly as it would seem, working on Korriban, and evading detection till then... Well, a girl was allowed to be suspicious if something was suspicious.

"Possible," she commented to Zeno.

"Probable," he says with a chuckle. "But I hate those ordeals. I'm glad I was spared most of them being in combat flight training after I turned thirteen."

"We all did," she chimed.

"Deathwright, a familiar name. Your parents spoke highly of you when they could." Of course, that could have simply been show. Imperial families loved to boast their children.

"Any Deathwright will speak highly of any Deathwright. We produce the premier starfighter pilots in the Empire," he says with a shrug. "Take it with a grain of salt until you see me fly. Never trust what you can't see for yourself. But if you do ever see the Deathwright capital defense squadron in formation on exercise or in action... you'll understand why we have pride in our people."

He brushes his hand through his soaked hair.

"Our training is nearly as deadly as the training here at the academy. About a third wash out or die over the 4 year training regimen."

It was a bit surprising, for her she was almost sure there would have been some mention of her father and the whole ordeal that followed it. But then, thinking about it, Zeno likely just didn't care. Maybe he didn't even know. Not seeming the sort to care enough to tune into events. That was... interesting.

"As you said, I will have to see you fly some day."

The truth was that he knew Ann's did care a little bit, bit he was trying to enjoy his refresher time and talking of dead family was not going to help that.

"What of yourself? Done much traveling through Empire space?"

"Negative," she said, adding in some lather to the whole ordeal.

"Perhaps if I hadn't manifested my potential I might have, but that is no longer a concern."

Veers sings lightly to herself as she attends to her cleaning.

"My power manifested early. Started out with basic instruction from my father, but he got me a former instructor from the academy to tutor me simultaneously during my Deathwright training," he replies. "My last five years have been difficult training, learning how to kill in a variety of ways. It's been intense."

"You're focused Deathwright, I'll give you that."

"Passion and persistence make determination. I don't stop chasing once I sink my teeth into something. Death's Shadow and it's entire pack of dozens of tuk'ata learned that lesson," he replies. "But you. The only thing I can read from you is that you're extremely disciplined and make no excuses. I respect that. You are a fine sith already in that regard. I tend towards seeking out conflict and violence but I'm guessing you like to pick and prepare for battles with a strategists mind," he says with a chuckle.

"You'll probably outlive me, since I'm more likely to pick fights I can't win."
