The Dark Academy on Korriban

“Research facility and data storage, most just the latter. Low staff compliment, they went dark during the attack, and probably why this place evaded detection. I don’t have access to any security protocols, so any active defenses will uh… be active.”

Thy shrugged and added, “But we have heat and a layout.”

Stopping in her thought for a moment, she wanted to be sure that they were prepared for organics as well. Trusting Sylvain to work with his former Jedi counterpart in determining what the bases layout and security was. Kristal stepped away from them. Somewhere she could focus. After all, mostly every one of her previous attempts out here to summon up her ability have proven fruitless.

This time.. was not the case.

Closing her eyes she felt through the force, reaching out and learning of her surroundings in a way that mere perception never could. Attuning herself to this connection she kept herself aware, ready for whatever dangers might lurk in the shadows of this abandoned station.

Day 3 | Into the Frozen Deep | Force Roll, Attempt 2: 1eF 1 Dark Side


[Committing to Sense]

"Hmmm... Would you be able to download those specs onto my holopad?"

He asked.

"And where would one access the data or research information the station was keeping? I'm assuming that's where we can figure out what they were doing here."

Sure, just a moment. There, that should be helpful,” Thy says quickly as she accessed the database. Meanwhile Kristal opens her senses to the world around her and can feel the life essence of Sylvain.

There is a small ripple in the Force but her senses are not fine enough to pinpoint it but it is near.

“I am guessing the database would be deeper in, looking at the layout we are looking for the Archives. I have highlighted it on the map.”

Sylvain smiled and nodded, "Let's go then."

He unplugged Thy from the terminal and held the Holocron open in his hand so Thy could travel along with them.

They began walking toward the destination marked on the map.

As they started to walk he asked Thy, "What type of things did the Republic study in these places? Environmental stuff or things concerning the force?"

There was a ripple in the force, as she felt, perhaps it was the presence of the ghost that had attached itself to Sylvain. She thought, but then perhaps it was another of Korriban's mysteries. There was no way to tell. Merely given the chance to prepare herself to face against more than mere security measures.

Stepping up alongside Sylvain as they walked, she looked for an opportunity to ask a question vital to her concerns, "Were you unable to uncover details on their security measures?"

“Most likely droids, my clearance didn’t give me access to security protocols,” Thy says.

Slyvain prepared himself for trouble attaching the holocron to his belt, freeing both of his hands.

As they started to walk he asked Thy, "What type of things did the Republic study in these places? Environmental stuff or things concerning the force?"

"Understood," Kristal says in her rather military manner.

Glancing to Sylvain, "Keep on your guard then."

Kristal held herself like a soldier, as always. Vigilant as they moved forward through the station. There was a mission set in front of her and she would see it done. Droids would seemingly be her opponent today. Naturally that left Sylvain to chat with his Jedi.

“Technically this is a Jedi facility with Republic support, but Jedi were probably doing research on the wild life and the nature of the Force on Korriban. Probably some excavations and other scientific pursuits,” she says in response to his question.

Perfect. This is exactly what I need.

"Excellent."

The group plodded along towards their destination.

“This place is wrong, I do not like it. I hate it,” she hissed for Sylvain.

Sylvain ignored the voice in his head. Opening himself up to it had only created problems for him before.

"I would have thought the Jedi would have been far too afraid of the power residing within Korriban to seek such a thing," Kristal commented. Noticing the concentrated silence that came with an attempt to push out a voice.

"Sylvain, are you all right?"

"Well as I can be given the events of the past couple days." He says with a reserved smile.

“The Jedi don’t seek power, only understanding,” she replies to Kristal.

“Fear is a tool of the Dark Side.”

OOC: And dark side flipped.

The halls are relatively clean, there is dust but the interior seems spared of the exterior damage until they find a circular chamber that seems to emanate piece or perhaps did. Now there is a feeling of cool anger.

In the center a robed figure sits cross legged, the clothes are worn and very old with many patches.

The figure speaks, a woman’s voice, but it seems to take great effort to do so, “I thought… I was alone here… thought… the Jedi abandoned me.”

Sylvain placated her concern, and she allowed it. With a nod she accepted his appraisal.

Seconds away from a response to the young Jedi they came upon whomever it was that sat at the center of the chamber. If there was any one truth to Korriban, is that if you find something unexpected you must prepare to fight or run. With that understanding in a cautionary act Kristal drew her blade.

"Identify yourself," came the cool command from the voice of the Imperial.

The woman remains seated and says, “I do not bend, I do not break. I am in stillness, I have no rage. I do not give in to passion.”

“I am Jedi, purified.”

She adds, “This is my home, and your presence stains it. Make peace, I will return you to the Force.”

Sylvain too took his sword in hand as he watched the figure.

"Jedi purified of what?" He asked.

She slowly stood and threw back her hood exposed a face that has seen hard times, a hardened look in her eyes and graying brown hair. “I will not be broken by Korriban, and not by you. Once I kill you, the silence can return.”

“Then there will be peace.”

OOC: Roll Simple difficulty Cool for initiative. Dark Jedi activates Sense, commits Force Die.

"You were broken long ago," Kristal added as she readied herself for what would become another test of her mettle.

"It will not be our death." Sylvain said as he prepared himself for the fight.

Initiative: 4 successes, 2 advantage

The Jedi ignites her lightsaber, a pale blue blade of light forms and she says, “The Force is with me.”

OOC: In this system PC slots are variable so right now the order is PC, PC, Fallen Jedi. The Fallen Jedi has Melee Defense 1 and Adversary 1 plus utilizing Sense so first attack against her is Upgraded by another 1. You can decide who wakes which initiative slot. Who ever goes First I am spending Destiny to Upgrade that attack/action if there are no dice to upgrade increase the difficulty. She is at short range in the center of the chamber.

Kristal burst forward, this was a Jedi she was going against. Even fallen as she was this would be no easy fight. Seizing the initiative was their only chance. Springing forward she attempted a strike. Failing in her attempt as she did, as should likely be expected of a mere aspirant going against a former Jedi, she still gained herself favorable footing when it came time to defend herself.

Slyvain charged in after his friend and struck down hard on the woman's lightsaber jarring it from her grasp. "Stand Down!" He yelled at her as she dropped her blade.
