The Dark Academy on Korriban

The day had started very oddly, and even as they had been occupied with work at the station, the circumstances she suddenly awoke to in the morning nagged at her mind.

When they got back planetside, she had finally found the time to check her own room for clues to the reasons why (and ruled out that she got so drunk she couldn't remember), but turned up with very little. Syl at some point tried to get her attention for something, but she had dismissed him, claiming she was busy with something else.

No, this she wanted to do alone. Perhaps her recent failings had been because she had relied too much on the aid of Syl and Kris, and not enough on herself?

Stepping off of her speeder in the Valley of the Dark Lords, she wasn't quite sure why she had travelled so far out this time... and perhaps it was her imagination, but she felt pulled here. Still, it was probably best to avoid drawing too much attention...


(Spending a Destiny Point for a scene, to follow up the events covering the player's absence ^^)

It was still dark and cloudy and there was a fire on a hill, a camp fire by the looks of it. A single figure sat by the flame tending to it with a stick roasting some desert creature.

That old crazy dude again, perhaps?

Erring on the side of caution, Shaisha tried to move in stealthily, in case it was someone... or something, that would not be as friendly as Spindral had been.

OOC: Stealth Difficulty is 2 Challenge and 2 Difficulty.

While the robes did a good job of hiding her figures in the shadows, it was hard to find some of the footing in the early hours of sunrise, and she cursed silently as she caused some sand, pebbles and small rocks to slide down underneath her feet and make more sound than anyone trying to stealth wanted to hear.

Spindral slowly stands and says, “If you are meaning to sneak up on me, you are doing a poor job of it. Unless you want me to know that you know that I know you are sneaking up on me, in which case… crafty.”

"Figured it was you."

Which was, oddly enough, a very tiny relief.

"I'd like to say I'm normally better at this, but I've not been doing well at what I usually do well since yesterday. Is it normal to have memory loss after seeing visions of the future?"

"What was this vision?" Spindral asks.

"I saw my father," she said, approaching closer to the old hermit, "in the cave where we first met you, when you told us to commune with Korriban."

"In the vision I saw, he was torn between two paths. The one before him, there was a... a light. A vessel of light. And behind him, a wound in the universe. I was there, in that wound, calling to him, but he turned away, and approached the light instead. The light was stained by his presence, making a dark silhouette of him inside the light."

"Then it ended."

"Your father is torn between two paths, Does this trouble you?" he says stroking his beard.

"It troubles me," she confirmed. "When your father serves as the Emperor's Wrath, such things become troubling."

"You are not your father," he counters.

"Not sure if that gives comfort."

"Yeah, I know. Unlike him, I got a sense of humor," she retorted dryly.

"But why would I see that vision, when I tried to listen to Korriban? And then wake up in the morning, with injuries I don't recall getting, fully dressed, and no recollection of anything that happened in the evening or the night."

“Korriban shows us what we either need to see or what we need to know. I don’t question her, it’s pointless. She never answers anyway.”

“Maybe you felt the call of the Emperor, he was here but gone now. Well not here. Up there,” he points to the sky.

“And right here.”

“Tonight it is just you, but last night it was him. He is the Emperor, I gave him what he wished. I am not sure if Korriban did the same. How is your pretty friend, the man-boy. He found a most vicious spirit, we had many long talks. I do not miss her.”

"Oy vey, the bitch did sneak out again, walking around in his body like a queen," she rolled her eyes.

"... I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. You gave the Emperor what he wished?"

“He never tells me,” Spindral says.

“I honor his requests and he does not impede my journeys. It has worked out thus far, last night was no different. How long have you been missing time, Shaisha?” he says as he stokes the fire.

She took a moment to reflect on that. It hadn't been the first time, but it was something she had blamed on exhaustion, or the partying with Syl and Kris. In hindsight, it could've been something else... would explain why she wasn't hungover.

"... It's not the first time," she admits. "This sounds so... weird. Not the weirdest thing I've heard, or have happened to me, but still weird."

"Wish I knew how you know all this stuff."

“I am old, older than I look, but not as old as the Wrath. I listen and most Sith pretend I don’t exist. I don’t play their games. I remember when Savas came to me as a boy, I am old. I know many secrets. I know nothing at all,” he chuckles softly.

“But you dear child, you’re one of the Children. His children, not by blood but by bond. You are so different when you are not him. This would be our fourth meeting now.”

She blinked. That was... a lot to swallow.

"... Where have I, ehm, him... during those times? Always out here, by the Tombs?"

“Not always, no. You wander far and wide, he goes where he wishes for reasons only known to him. You are his tool and I do not question it,” Spindral says.

“You are touched to be so blessed or cursed, depends on how you see it.”

She didn't like to think of herself as anyone's tool, not even an Emperor's... then again, her mother had always been very clear on loyalty to the Emperor, and the Torsin's had been very similar in that regard.

"Not sure if I can call this a blessing, or a curse for that matter either..." her fists tightened. "I was here yesterday too? Or somewhere else?"

“Right there, for awhile. Then you went across the wastes to a place the Sith call the Forgotten. Those tribes that sought peace… harmony. Those tribes that would be forgotten for not being Sith,” Spindral says with a nod.

Stars, how much can one do in one night...

"Didn't even know there was something like that here on Korriban..." the Sith girl pulled her cloak closer around herself. This was a lot to take in at once.

“Korriban is a big place, not all tribes agreed, not all were as sith wish to think they were. There were green places on Korriban, I don’t think any exist now. Shame, a tree would be useful for shade,” Spindral says wistfully.

“The Forgotten are not remembered except by old souls like me.”

"Hard to believe there were green places here on Korriban... even when you think this planet has been picked clean by the Imperial Reclamation Service, or hopeful acolytes, or hungry Sith, there are still surprises that pop up."
