The Dark Academy on Korriban

Jun-Tsu stood in the vast library, its rows upon rows upon rows of data storage feeding into the central terminal. She poured over thousands of titles and dossiers on subjects mundane to mystical. And as she did she would pause every so often searching deeper into a record, bring it up and scanning through abstracts and discussions.

Not finding what she wanted, she quickly returned back to her search, perusing her results.

An astromech droid starts following Jun-Tsu around dutifully.

Jun-Tsu spared only a quick glance over her shoulder before returning to the terminal. She read through the entries and then glanced around.

Organize zhe entire Academy library....

She tried to ascertain just how disjointed the collection was. Were the files and records completely without categorization? Did they require renewed classification? She knew that finding a specific file was very difficult, the question now was, how to make that easier.

It looks like they have gone some time without organization of the physical texts or the digital texts. There also seems to be no cross indexing of the digital and physical copies, two separate databases and neither is up to date. Also Korriban spiders and webs in the upper reaches.

Thankfully the astromech droid R3-G3 is some help it seems to know where everything is, just no real order to it.

"R3-G3, you will be most useful in my endeavor, though it will take many days to complete." She looked over row upon row upon row of stacks, either massive data collectors or shelves of materials. Her eyes narrowed.

"The most sense would be to find out what this library holds....Sith history, no doubt, philosophical works, political treatises, art treatises, legal volumes, sabre forms and physical manuals, flight records, to say nothing of possible training programs that might be available to students."

She continued to list possible items, before it finally became too much. She withdrew her own datapad from the folds of her robes and began to take notes.

"Hierarchy, as in all things, is the key." She silently wondered what the Void Engine might say about the division of knowledge. No doubt the Infinite Empire had a remarkably efficient method for the organization of all knowledge.

R3-G3 replies with, “Beep-boop…. Whir whir---boop boop beep.”*

"Zince I am most concerned vith history, let us ztart zhere. Ve must compile all of zhe vritten material regarding history. But zhat vould be too much. Hmm," she pondered.

"Eras und eons zhen. Vell...let us ztart vith zhe beginning. No doubt zhe formation of zhe universe zhrough zhe creation of sapient life vill be cowered under zhe Sciences. Best zhen to begin vith pre-Infinite Empire era. Compile zhose texts zhat deal vith zhe earliest space-faring races. Zhen ve can compile zhe writings on zhe Infinite Empire und zhe earliest galactic empires. Zhen zhe Old Sith Empire era. Zhen zhe New Sith Empire era. Zhen ve'll just have to diwide zhat down by century or millennia, I zuppose." The task seemed daunting, but she would not be dissuaded.

“Beep boop beep, whirr whoor beep, boop,”* the droid replies and zooms off to get to work.

Remmington arrives at the old library and whistles in appreciation as he looks around at the chaotic mess. He greets Jun-Tsu with a wave. "Yo Jun-Tsu. I didn't know there was a library here."

"I had heard but I newver had reazon to wenture here. Most of our v'readingz are zent to our personal terminals. I vouldn't have called you here but Lord Savas has tasked me vith organizing zhis whole collection," she looked around with a calculating sigh.

"I am glad you've come, zhough. I've found out about our gatekeeper," she ushered them over between two stacks out of the way, and keeping an eye out for that astromech droid. Assuring herself that they were alone, she drew closer and lowered her voice.

"It vas a truly ancient temple. It belonged to a primordial Sith King named Nudas Min. Are you familiar vith zhe bygone Infinite Empire?" She didn't bother to wait for confirmation. "Long ago, zhe 'builders' as ve call zhem, possibly zhe first of zhe zpace-faring races, came to Sith space und rewealed scientific secrets to zhem zhat gawe zhem space travel und advanced zheir race centuries if not millennia. Zhey vere vorshiped as gods, und zo vas zheir technology."

She drew even closer and her voice even softer, "I returned to zhe pyramid zhe day after ve vent. Zhere vas no time to find you if I vas to make it to zhe temple before daybreak. I found mein vay inside und found a poverful relic. It callz itzelf zhe Woid [Void] Engine, und somehow it acts very zimilar, but not exactly like, a conwergence in zhe Umbră-Ușoară."

It was a word that Rem knew her House used to speak of the 'Dark-light of the Force.'

"It speaks of the ancient empire and has taught me much."

Remmington nods as he follows her. "This place is certainly a fixer upper."

He listens to Jun-Tsu as she moves in close to whisper to him. He shakes his head that he is unfamiliar with such ancient lore. "Dark-Light of the Force? What does it do? Can this Void Engine be moved? What did you learn from it?"

He puts his hands on her shoulders and leans in close to whisper something into her ear. "I think I may have found clues into a Sith artifact that may appease the Sith King Nundas Min. There is an ancient Sith sword called the Sword of the Conqueror. It will probably do for our Sith King ghost. I have an idea where to find it but I'll have to search for it."

"In all of zhis," she waved at the library, "I might find zomezhing of use to you to find it. It be sure to look as I orient zhe library."

"To zhe Void Engine, yes. I took it from zhe temple. It vished to leawe vith me to zee zhe current era. It learnz as I learn from it. It iz from zhe ancient builders und possesses a vast intelligence of itz own. It haz told me about zhe vays of zhe Infinite Empire, zhe, as it callz zhem, zhe Rakata, but I have yet to diwine itz purpose. But vhen I am near it I feel nearer to zhe Umbră-Ușoară, as zho it both drawz it into itzelf but alzo spills it forth like a siphon."

"I can probably look faster myself on the computers here for the digital information." Remmington replies as he looks across the library. "Shall I help you tidy it up by the way? Looks like you can use some muscle with all this."

Then he whispers again. "That is a wondrous find Jun-Tsu. I hope you can learn much from it. If you permit it, I may want to learn some of the Infinite Empire tech from it.

By the way, the sword is somewhere in the Restricted Tombs. I will probably go searching for it sometime soon. You can come with me if you like but it may be tough in there."

"Let me know and I would be happy to help."

She drew back, "The library vill take vork. I zaw zome Korriban spiders shuffling about abowve. I'we zo much to do, I could certainly use help vith cleaning."

"I will keep you posted." Remmington says quietly into her ear before he pulls away as well.

"I can help you try to organize the digital files as well while I look something up too. I can probably get some of the physical labour done first though before I take a break and use my brain." He says as he starts to pick things up while looking for something to clean with.

"Hey droid. Is there anything we can use to clean around here?"

"I'd ask for help organizing zhe files but I don't know vhat schema I'm using yet. I'm still considering possible diwisions of knovledge. If you'd be kind enough to come back tomorrow, too, I might have a better grasp on vhat I'm doing zhen. But, for now, cleaning might be...prudent."

Remmington nods. "Then I shall do just that. Just let me know when a good time tomorrow will be."

He continues picking up books, papers, and whatever else on the floor and somewhat trying to organize things as according to how Jun-Tsu wants it.

"Vhile I have you here I zuppose I should mention a conwersation vith a Baesal Zyn. An alien, but she has great ambition to blend technology und, as she put it, zhe Force. She iz trying to create zynthetic focusing cryztals. I could not help but zhink of you vhen I heard zhat." Jun-Tsu was nearby doing much the same. She surveyed the stacks seeing how dusty and unkempt everything was.

Remmington nods. "I met Baesal. She caught my interest as well though we didn't have much chance to speak. Hmm... that doesn't seem all that odd when you consider lightsabers, holocrons, and all. Though maybe she is thinking of other machines."

"I couldn't zay other zhan she beliewed it difficult to manufacture such a cryztal. It zeems an intensive process. Qvite rare. Hence, I assume vhy ve still use natural cryztals. I beliewe she feelz creating v'one of zhese artificial cryztals vill give her insight into zhe vays of zhe Force. Not a terrible hypothesis."

Remmington nods. "Well it is an interesting theory. If we can manufacture artificial crystals they will be a great boon to the Empire. The Force is all around us so I guess there are many different ways to tap into it if one is open to it."

He continues on cleaning for a while before he decides to take a short break and look something up on the computer. "Hey Jun-Tsu. You mind if I look into something for a little bit?" He asks.

"Abzolutely. I don't vant you to giwe up perzonal pursuitz just out of dewotion to me." She smirked without looking at him, instead pulling various materials off of shelves and piling them on nearby tables.

Remmington smirks at that and continues searching through the computer. "Of course Jun-Tsu. You are ever so kind. Though..."

He looks up at her. "... if you ever do need my help for anything please let me know. I do not wish for your House to befall the same fate as mine."
