"Hmm. I wonder if Gyn was trying to hide the fact that he became a damned traitor rather than any dangerous ritual," Zeno said with what might be a hint of disappointment.

Sylvain looked up to the image and nodded politely.

"My name is Sylvain Torsin, and these are my companions. We are seekers of a path, though the 'truth' of any given path is perhaps relative to one's perspective. What is the nature of the knowledge that you wished to store in this holocron for future generations?"

Baesal was intrigued

Moyr went wide-eyed. Here it was, a big skeleton in the closet of the Sith. She was nevertheless mesmerised by the potential richness of the man's experience. He must have been through quite a lot to make this dramatic about-face. For now, the others spoke.

Master Hazzan replies to Sylvain, “I was an explorer and I sought the dark places of the Galaxy. My journey was years… decades. I discovered a path to what I falsely believed to be immortality a ritual that could steal life energy to not only extend life but deeply empower one with dark side energy, deepening their connection to the Force.”

“This was folly.”

“The only true immortality is oneness with the living Force. Do not be deceived for the spirits that roam Korriban, they are tortured manifestations of the dark side. Deep rooted corruption given a facsimile of life. True oneness is peace. An existence that transcends time and space a connection to all points in the knowable universe.”

“This is a journey of a life time.”

"This ritual... how did you learn of it?" He asked with interest.

''...and can you counter it?'' continued Baesal

"What was the ritual?" Zeno asks the Sith holocron gatekeeper.

“Regrettably I was guided by old knowledge. The version I found was imperfect and stored in another holocron. I suspect my apprentice has returned me to the Force. She could not see the larger scope and may have sought the ritual for herself. I cannot know. I created this and stored it in a place in hoping someone worthy would find it.”

“I have no knowledge of that ritual within this holocron, only that it is flawed. It will work but at terrible cost. No living vessel was meant to store such concentrated dark side energy,” Master Hazzan says.

"So you do not have any knowledge of how to prevent one from using the ritual?" He asked.

"You see, there is in our day one who seems to be using this ritual for her advantage. In order to stop her, we need any type of information that would be beneficial in that contest."

“Does she possess the holocron? Without it she cannot enact the ritual,” the holocron says.

He looked to his compatriots who knew Zash better than he did.

She was about to ask a question before eyeing Zeno...she was'nt sure if she trusted him

''She seems to be leeching life from others in some manner, at least''

Moyr looked at Zeno.

"She probably does. Where was your apprentice from, Master Hazzan? Ziost maybe?"

“I found her when young on a world I have long since forgotten, I did travel to Ziost. Why?” he says to Moyr.

"There are many on the Dark Side who would like to use the ritual. I wonder how the one that has come to use it acquired it. Where is her connection. She likely hails from Ziost."

“Sith have long sought immortality, to break the bonds of death and life everlasting. Physical immortality is an illusion, the Dark Side corrupts and over time with the higher concentration that corruption escalates. To commit such a ritual requires a high concentration of dark side energy, it will in time cause degradation of the physical form,” Master Hazzan says with a nod.

“As you can see it is folly.”

"What does the ritual actually do to those sacrificed for its sake? Is there a way to acquire fortitude against it?"

“They die, in agony. They become a channel for the dark side,” he says flatly.

“I do not know of a defense beyond simply stopping the ritual.”

Sylvain listened carefully to the words of the ancient master. They made logical sense. This tool, as any other tool had its drawbacks.


"I see... What other information do you have stored in your databanks?" he asked with interest.

"I know of one who survived, just got engulfed in madness. Yes, is there any way for you to make yourself useful to those who would like to stop the witch?"

He saw the looks that he got and smiled. "What? You think I wouldn't want to hold knowledge of that ritual? Who the hell do you think she's gonna try and use it on? I'd like to know what I'm looking so I know not to step into the wrong damn circle."

“Then the ritual was not completed or the knowledge to enact it is incomplete. If this individual is seeking my knowledge then the latter is probably correct. I had not the will to destroy it, knowledge is knowledge and perhaps some good could come from it. An error, maybe,” the Master says calmly.

“If you seek to avert tragedy then I would deny this person the knowledge to enact the ritual in its entirety.”

"In other words, to destroy your holocron? Would it not thwart your legacy?"

Moyr was up to something.

“That is knowledge I gathered before I found the path out of darkness, the holocron was my guide, it is nameless. I would mourn the loss but perhaps it is best it is destroyed,” he says with sadness.
