The Dark Academy on Korriban

"Perhaps... though what the consequences would be are unknown. Whether or not we can influence the vision for the better is a philosophical question I don't have the ability to render a decision on." He said.

Shaisha pursed her lips in thought. Sharing her vision with her father didn't exactly have a good outcome... would sharing it with Lord Savas be any different?

Probably not. Best cover their own bases and be prepared.

"Let Kris know she should keep herself armed tomorrow. The family sword may still see some use, unless she's only using the new lightsaber now."

"It looked in bad repair yesterday. Maybe she needs some help fixing it at some point." He suggested.

"Hm, I'll see her about that in the morning then. I have to construct my own lightsaber too, so maybe we can help eachother in that regard."

Good thing she had gotten a hold of a crystal then the previous day.

"And the lightsaber departement for you...?"

He tapped the blade at his waist. "Provided for me this morning. It's a purple blade. The color I wanted actually." He smiled warmly.

Shaisha gave a dramatic sigh.

"Lucky you. Just handed to you... Not that I mind making my own, even if it's going to take a lot of work. Thinking that two lightsabers is better than one, since I seemed to have luck with it in the fight yesterday."

"Well I earned my first lightsaber... but gave it to Kris." He said with a smile.

"You keep forgetting that." He teased gently, opening himself up to be teased back.

"I still prefer to think that Kris did all the heavy-lifting there," she teased in return. "At least your family isn't demanding that you make your own."

She often seemed to be rebellious by the expectations and legacy she had to live up to, but deep down in her, there was also a child that wanted nothing more than their parent's approval.

"So blue for Kris, red for me, and purple for you... how very fitting that your color is a combination of ours."

He chuckled at that, "Quite so isn't it? Good catch there Shai, I'd missed that."

He then smiled, "You in need of another crystal? I got mine from yesterday... I might be able to be convinced to let it go for the right bargain."

"I got one myself too yesterday. It will go nicely into my shoto-hilt," she smiled, with a hint of smugness. "I don't need your charity this time. At least not for that."

"Who said charity? I said 'bargain'." He said with a smile.

"And what would you be interested in then, Sylvain Torsin, since we're speaking of bargaining?" she folded her arms and looked at him with a playful spark in her eyes.

"There's plenty of things that I want Shaisha Vreysk. What is it you have to offer?" He said with the same playful look in his eye.

She made a playful frown.

"Information, services... if there's anyone at the Academy you want to know more about, I can provide it."

He smiled warmly, "You know just the things to say to excite me. I want to know more about the slave-girl Layne. She's had an unusual amount of luck since her arrival, and Lord Baras is planning on taking her on to be his personal attack dog. I want to know more about any potential threat that she poses. She seems to be impervious to my charms."

... I could cut you now.

The playful frown turned a less playful. "Are you suspecting she might have benefactors aiding her in this luck? Or looking for a simple threat-assessement?"

He nodded, "I'm thinking she wouldn't be able to do what she is doing by herself... that night in the bar made me think that there might be something fishy about her. And now her exploits only make it more suspicious. Going into a tomb alone, and coming out with an ancient lightsaber? How'd she get that intel? She doesn't have any friends."

"Hm, good point. A lot of this will probably involving asking her though, as you say, she doesn't exactly socialize a lot."

She shot him a small glare. "Of all the people to choose from, you chose her."

"Can't make it easy." He said with a smile, "It's a valuable crystal. But I would have thought you'd be motivated to know more about the girl that is running around flaunting your legacy undeservedly."

He shrugged, "I would have asked for Thaine, but I'm pretty sure Kris will have put you up to that already. But from what I hear Kris and Layne fought together last night... you may have an easier in than you think."

At the mention of her legacy, she shot him a glare that reminded him that she was the daughter of the Emperor's Wrath. It was very similar to the one she had given Rona Thaine when she had demanded the lightsaber Shaisha had earned in battle.

"Kris might be better at that job than me then, if they fought together," she suggested. "But yes, she did ask me about Thaine. Seems like you both are interested to get her out of the picture, for different reasons."

He smiled, "I'm more interested in it for Kris' sake. I probably would like to have her and Layne duke it out if I were to have my way... but even then, if Layne has some backer we don't know about, that wouldn't go the way I wanted it to."

"Alright," she sighed, "getting back to the Academy, I'll check around and see if there's anyone supporting her from on high. That isn't Darth Baras."

"What I don't do for my brother?"

Sylvain's face contorted into a disgusted look, "Don't say that. I don't think I could have had fun like we did a couple weeks ago if you were my 'sister'. I'm Syl, you're Shai. That's all."

He reached over and pulled her into him with one arm and kissed her gently on the forehead.

"My, didn't you change the tune fast after a rough-and-tumble, considering we've been growing up in the same household for, what... 10 years?" she chortled at that.

He chuckled, "I just don't want to shut the door on what was an enjoyable experience... for both of us I thought."

He winked and squeezed her shoulder affectionately.

"I won't remember all the time we spent together as kids. You'd beat me up if I did."
