The Dark Academy on Korriban

"So when Layne said you were possessed, she wasn't joking..." She says, taking a longer sip of her water. "Which would mean she is technically here right now..."

He nodded, "Sorry I'm not fielding questions for her though. She's not my favorite squatter."

"I didn't plan on it." she says, half jokingly. "Do you have any kind of plan to get rid of it? Have you talked to anybody, like Lord Zash?" She seems genuinely concerned.

"I'm working something out. It shouldn't be a problem much longer."

He smiled, "Hopefully the next time we meet it will just be the two of us; not the three."

"Ugh," she said, rolling her eyes.

"Well, if you need assistance in removing her, I'd be happy to help." She says, smiling.

Sylvain chuckled at Layne's response. "That did sound like some sort of come on didn't it? I assure you, there's not enough alcohol in me to start hitting on women randomly in the bar."

Then nodded graciously to Nunki, "If things end up being different than I expect, I'll let you know."

Layne's skepticism at his 'I assure you' comment was evident. As was her disbelief at Nunki's willingness to help him.

"Why even bother? You're a better person when she's in charge. She makes you seem... almost manly."

He chuckled, "Now I know how to impress the mighty Layne Hoshin. Act like an asshole with utter disrespect for others. I'll be sure to remember that."

Nunki laughs shallowly, and says "You two are quite the pair."

Sylvain chuckled, "Indeed. Though I suspect Layne wouldn't want to be paired with me on pretty much anything."

Peeking past Sylvain to Layne, Nunki says "You may very well find yourself surprised."

"The hell's that supposed to mean?"

"When the time comes for alliances, it is possible that one must put aside a great difference between them and another in exchange for a powerful alliance." She says this very matter-of-factly. "I may not be on the best terms with some students of the academy. But if it were a life or death situation, I would put that aside for the greater goal. And I would hope they would do the same."

Sylvain smiled and nodded, "I have no qualms about working with Aspirant Hoshin, she's proven herself far more than many already. It's just the other way around right now that seems less that likely. Apparently I don't inspire admiration in her."

He shrugged and chuckled in a self-deprecating manner, "Perhaps someday I won't act like an ass in the market and I'll give her a reason to not dismiss me."

"I don't care one way or the other about working or not working with you, Torsin. If I can work with a mute Devaronian spice addict, I can work with you. If you want admiration, look elsewhere."

He chuckled, "Very well, Layne. I will look elsewhere for my validation."

Nunki laughs, and asks "A mute, spice addicted Devaronian? You have to tell us about that."

"We called him Terry," she replied. "And that's all you're getting."

She shrugs. "Not everything's to be shared, I understand. I'm sure he would have been... interesting to be around."

"Not really. Spice addicts only think about one thing. His one saving grace was that we didn't have to listen to him blather on about it."
