''Very rare and form near vergences...they are living manifestations of the dark side and are incredibly powerful and entirely unnatural''

Her eyes widen

''You killed one of them?''

"Yeah," she said like it was nothing. "I mean, I had some others there to help distract it, but I'm the one who brought it down."

She crossed her arms.

"It wasn't that tough once I sliced up its claws."

''It is still an impressive feat''

She crosses her arms

''But why were you fighting it? What happened afterwards?''

"Really now," she said, glancing toward Jor'en and whoever else was in the hall. "You can't expect me to just spell it all out for you."

She raised an eyebrow

''Well...a lot of variables are unaccounted for Layne.''

She gives a shrug

''But if you want to keep that for yourself I can't help you''

"Let's just say I was somewhere I wasn't supposed to be..." she said with a sigh. "...for the wrong reasons."

''Allright...''

She frowns

''But if you want help turning the tables on the rancor's anus that gave you trouble, give me a wink'' she says in a hushed tone

"I think there's going to be a lot of takers for that one."

''The rancor is not well liked then? Wait was'nt an overseer giving you trouble?''

She rolled her eyes.

Even I have more discretion, it seems

She gave a sigh

''Well whatever...I'll see myself out''

"Thanks for the help," she said before Baesal could leave. "You're okay I guess. We should hang out somewhere with less noise some time."

Take the hint.

To be honest, it wasn't as if Layne had been particularly discrete throughout the conversation. Or beyond, elsewhere. But there were things you didn't discuss out in the open, even Layne knew that. Sort of. Probably.

As he read through what the library had on lightsaber construction it became apparent that he had overlooked something.

Pulling out his comlink he dialled in for Gerry.

"Hey, buddy? You around?"

Gerald show up and lights up his own saber and says, "Hey I wanted to show you... I got it working!"


"This is cool." He turns off the blade and says to Jo'ren, "Hey man, sorry I took so long was just putting the finishing touches on my weapon."

Baesal gave a sigh

"No problem Layne..." She smiled "You are okay too, I guess"

She gave a wink

"Lets talk later"

"Yes! Your shoto, nice work Gerry!" He grinned. "No worries any taking your time, it was a bit out of the blue after all."

Rising from the table he walked towards Gerald. "I've been tinkering a bit with my crystal, and I think you might be able to help me with the next part. I've come a long way, but I really don't want to mess this bit up. Up for it?"

"Any time buddy," he says warmly.

"So what do you need me to do?"

Jo'ren led them back towards the work bench he had been busy at already this morning. "Awesome, thanks.". Sitting down he started pulling out all of his equipment, sister parts, carving tool, and the lightsaber.

"Basically all of the manipulation I have to myself, and I need to attune the crystal through the force. But you can assist me with the design and give me pointers.". He pulled out the datapad with the information on lightsaber crystal modification. "Just keep me on the right track and we'll be good."

With Gerald's help Jo'ren was able to successfully add his 4th crystal mod.

Day 5. LM. Modifying a crystal. Difficulty -2 due to personal lightsaber. +3 for fourth mod. Bonus for good equipment. Bonus for Gerry giving an assist. Force dice as per pg 196: 2eA+1eP+4eD+1eB+1eF 1 success, 2 advantage, 1 Dark Side
