The Dark Academy on Korriban

Sylvain sat in his room in the latter hours of the night pondering on the events of the past couple of days. The informant who had told him of the plot behind his father's death played a central role in figuring out just exactly what had happened.

Travelling over to his communicator he dialed the id number with the proper cipher to reach the mysterious Zabrak.

There is a moment of static and then the mysterious Sith answers, “My location is not secure but this transmission is secure.”

"Good evening. I would like a report on the happenings of the past two days relating the status of the coup. Moff Serasai's death came as somewhat of a surprise to me. Who stands to take his place now?" He said.

“The Purge is well underway, with Moff Serasai’s death it is unclear who will succeed as Grand Moff. I will continue to monitor this but his death was not expected. Perhaps there is another player Darth Baras had not accounted for,” the Zabrak says.

“Perhaps you can gather more information, given your new position.”

"I spoke with him this evening, but mostly on another matter." He replied, "It is not known how the Wrath came to know Moff Serasai was responsible then?"

“I was not instructed to follow the movements of the Wrath,” he says calmly.

He nodded, "Then tell me of your progress on what you are assigned on."

“Things have been quiet, those that supported Moff Serasai have gone dark. Several of my contacts have gone missing and I have relocated myself to an undisclosed location until things settle. The only thing I know for sure is that Baras and Vengean have consolidated power and gained a great amount of control over the Imperial High Command,” he says honestly.

“It may take weeks before I know the full extent of that influence.”

Sylvain nodded, "Stay safe. Notify if something important is in the works."

“May the Force keep you strong, if I may ask, is your mother well?” he says calmly.

"I haven't heard from her... I had assurances that Baras would not kill her if I did as he desired." He nodded, "Perhaps I will give her a call. Thank you for reminding me."

“Baras is dangerous. More so that nothing is ever as it seems, Master Torsin,” he says calmly.

“May the Force make you Strong.”

He ends the call.

Sylvain nods a farewell.

He then immediately contacts his mother.

His mother answers she is seated and servants are applying makeup. She looks stately and says, “I did not expect to hear from you so soon. Every day you become more and more like him. Sorry, what did you need?”

He smiled, "I wanted to check in and see how you were doing. Father had made it seem you were quite ill."

“Your father exaggerated some, I was unwell but I can’t let that define me. Too much needs to be done and you have your duties and I have mine,” she says kindly.

“It is sweet of you to check on me though.”

"Anything for my dear mother." He replied with boyish charm.

"Did you hear the news concerning my new master mother?"

“I… I saw it. Are you sure about this? Darth Baras is no ordinary Sith, he is devious and dangerous… although powerful and feared. You are entering a new realm of politics and intrigue,” she says.

"I do only what I know I need to to ensure our house's legacy lives on, and with greater brightness than before." He said with confidence.

"What do your friends tell you of Baras? Do you know anything that could be useful in how I should deal with him?"

“Baras will trip you. He will say one thing and mean another entirely. He can lie easily and often. I am not sure if he knows how to tell the truth. He is deadly serious, humor is not an aspect I associate with him. I have met him, he was personable even charming, but distant. He never says anything or tells anyone anything without reason. He thinks many moves ahead or so I am told,” she says as her hair is combed out.

"I see. Any interests, family, friends?" He asked.

“I don’t know of any family, and well friends…” she says skeptically, “I doubt he cultivates friends. I don’t really know much about him personally.”

He smiled, "If anyone knew, it would be you mother. So I must assume he doesn't have them."

Then added, "If you hear anything of use, do tell me. I know father depended on you greatly. He told me you were his 'moon and stars' the last time that I met him."

Raven smiles and looks at herself in the mirror, “That was his favorite line. I always teased him that for all his talents he was a terrible romantic.”

“Thank you.”

She adds, “If I learn anything, I will tell you. Be safe my love.”

"You too mother." He said with a smile.

"I will talk to you soon."
