The Dark Academy on Korriban

After returning from Baras' office, Syl hit the refreshers to knock some of the grime off from the campout. He had a standing invitation with Kristal to help her with her lightsaber and needed to look presentable.

No dirt pits or inappropriate conditions would get in his way this time... Or so he thought....

He pulled out Thy's holocron and tossed it up in the air every few seconds, catching it as he waited for Kristal to arrive. He'd cleared off his desk as a workspace for her and had pulled up a bit on lightsaber maintenance on his datapad.

Two hard knocks, Kristal's knuckle bounced off the door. It was late but she wasn't about to barge into his room. Or perhaps it was even more important that she did so because it was late. Settling things with Shaisha cooled her off a bit. Though it still left the wound in her heart, one she hoped to recover from soon.

Standing outside Kristal defaulted to that military stance.

Sylvain jumped off his bed and over to the door. With an excited look in his eyes he opened up the door and looked at Kristal.

"Hey Kris! Thought you'd never come." He smiled and waved her in. "Come in, come in."

There was a weight on Kristal's shoulders, a burden to bear that was clear in her steps as she walked in. Taking steps in it her tired expression became all the more clear. Today Kristal had made a terrible discovery.

"There was something I needed to see done," she offered as her excuse for being late.

Sylvain picked up on her demeanor immediately as she walked in.

"What's wrong? Everything okay?" He asked with concern.

"I forgive you Sylvain," she said first, "If it had been reversed I would not have told you either."

Kristal left a pause as she walked a bit more properly into the room. Stopping at the center, she turned back to him.

"Today I learned who Shaisha's father is, and if you will permit me I will leave it at that for now as I am dreadfully exhausted."

Sylvain nodded knowingly and came to her side, guiding her gently to sit on his bed.

Sitting next to her he said, "What can I do for you then? Would you like that massage I offered? Or perhaps just a shoulder to lean on? Whatever you need Kris."

There was no argument as Sylvain guided her to a seat on his bed. As he sat beside her she turned to him. Giving the moment some thought, the idea of a massage sounded lovely to release muscle tension. For now.. for now she needed,

"Something to work on," she said honestly.

He smiled, "Well, I got my desk all ready for you if you'd like. Got some specs up for lightsabers here on my datapad. Got Thy here if you want to talk to her. I can help with your mood a bit if you'd like."

He reached over with one arm and wrapped it around her waist with a squeeze, "Like I said, anything you need Kris."

Every slight bit of her reactions showed how she was a tad off with everything. Where Sylvain was clearly experienced in being there for someone, or being close. Kristal was not, to put it bluntly. Normally she might have tried to ease the awkwardness of it with a brief smile, or the like, but she couldn't quite manage one tonight.

"Thank you," she managed to say, looking to stand again but not pulling away from Sylvain.

He smiled and walked her over to his desk chair and sat her down. Walking over to the bed he picked up her bag and handed it to her so she could pull out what she needed.

He then stood behind her and gently began massaging the muscles adjoining her neck and shoulders.

He smiled and said, "Now what was Thy saying... she was talking about 'channeling' the force. I can help you with that if you'd like. I would never try to forcibly affect your emotions, but if you'd like some help I think I can help a bit."

Sat in the chair, Kristal let her head hang forward a bit as he started at the neck. It wasn't exactly what she expected already but she wasn't quite going to deny him, well herself, the pleasure.

"I thought to ask her about that more," she said, turning her head to the side and looking to Sylvain from a side glance. "How do you open her?"

Kristal asked, her tone implying the hope to open the Holocron herself.

He smiled and stopped his rubbing for a moment to grab the holocron.

Handing it to Kristal he said, "She's locked herself to my signature supposedly, but if I help you I think it should work."

He put his hand underneath her's as she held the holocron. "It's kind of like coaxing out a scared animal from its shell. No matter how hard you scream or yell, it's only going to drive it further in. You need to open your mind and yourself and feel out the locks that keep the information hidden. Once you understand them, they open themselves."

He closed his eyes, "Here, close your eyes and feel the force around the holocron."

Locked herself to his signature, annoying if it didn't work. Even if she did see the merit in the idea. Listening to him as she took the holocron in hand, feeling his under hers as she held it up. "Alright," she said. Closing her eyes as he instructed and attempting to feel the force around the Holocron.

With her abilities of sense it wasn't a foreign concept to her, for so long she had been doing something similar. Or so she thought.

In theory it could have been slightly different, instead of looking for threats or points of attack the holocron required feelings of peace and persuasion. Sylvain helped in the process but allowed Kris to feel the flow of the (light-side) force and begin to feel the holocron hum to life.

As Kris picked away the last of the restraints Sylvain smiled, "See, you did it."

As he said that the holocron buzzed to life and out emerged the image of Thy Yulani.

Thy says, "So how can I help?"

There was a little proud smirk as it worked. Leaning back a bit into Sylvain. Then it was straight to business,

"Before, when you spoke of constructing the lightsaber. I wish to know how to do it, how you do it. If you would guide me through the process."

Sylvain sat on the corner of the bed near the desk to be of use if it was helpful.

Thy goes over the basic form which is channeling the force to guide one’s actions allowing the Force to intuitively act through the force user and mix with their knowledge to aid in creation of devices especially devices that interface with the force such as holocrons or lightsabers.

OOC: Essentially you can add a Force die to the mechanics roll. Spent the force points as success or advantage, conflict applies as normal.

There was part of her that always felt like she should do it alone, but she wouldn't now. No, she needed to maintain the weapons spirit as much as she could. Of course the process itself was a singular thing, but as she began getting underway it started to piece together. The process would still be a long one but in the end it would prove to actually happen faster than anticipated.

Sylvain sat near by, taking it easy when Kristal didn't need him and getting up to hand her something or bring her some water when she needed it.

Looking at the finished product he smiled, "Looks good Kris."

"It isn't quite done yet, many more hours, but," Kristal did herself the disservice of sounding a bit too confident here, "I think it's going much better. I can feel it."

"You have my thanks Thy," she said looking to the image of the woman. Then, turning to look to at Sylvain, this one with a smile. "And you, of course."

He chuckled, "Thanks Thy, making me an afterthought."

Then with a genuine smile, "But really, thanks Thy."

"Now, I need a break," Kristal determined as she leaned her head back against the chair. Closing her eyes. Letting the in progress work that was the lightsaber rest where it lay for now.

Smiling at Thy he said, "G'night Thy. Thanks again." Then he closed the holocron.

He then patted Kristal's shoulder, "Good work, Kris. Wanna lay down on my bed? Take a bit of a rest."
