"Not something I am particularly versed in. I've really focused more on practically applicable skills. Something I need to work on, gaining more understanding of our history and lore," he admits. "But I imagine that will come in bits and pieces at the school alongside better techniques for combat and application of the dark side." He takes another careful bite.

"I'm no expert on the matters of history, but I have done a fair bit of reading and my mother was strict in teaching me the history of our people when she had the time. Many students entering the Academy these days don't even know to recite the Sith Code, while some of us know it from infancy." She shook her head in dismay.

Baesal shrugged

''History is useful but my expertise lie in computing and mechanics''

"History serves its purpose, as do codes and machinery. If one belongs to such a distinguished people as the Sith, then it's all the more important to see that history preserved... for instance, I'm sure that there are historical documents that could answer your questions about the alien technology used in Darth Malak's starfighters."

"There may be. Or perhaps those documents were destroyed or eliminated. Who knows. Some guard their power jealously." Zeno seems unconcerned with finding alien tech that builds starships.

Questions? I know how they work dammit! I'm sure you use history to fart higher then your own butthole rather then actually learn from it!

''The Republic destroyed pretty much everything I think...'' she said, obviously thinking about something else

Somewhere, I imagine father is weeping over the current state of our heritage with these kinds of students in the Sith Academy... If he ever learned how to.

"Some guard it jealously," she nodded in agreement with Zeno. "With the right connections though, or the right application of power, one can easily overcome that."

"Perhaps. Unless such records no longer exist," Zeno replies. "Time and intent can both remove official records and dead men don't whisper secrets."

"Time matters little in the face of immortality, or long lifespans. Some Sith Lords are rumored to have lived over hundreds of years, and the Emperor himself is immortal, as are his closest servants." Shaisha shrugged.

How would Moyr say that? Plattitudes, tellement de plattitudes...

She chewed on her dumpling as to not to speak

"It does matter to machines though. They can break down over time if not given proper maintenance. Data can be lost permanently if it is only stored on a machine that fails. And while the Emperor is immortal and inconceivably knowledgeable, that does not mean that he has gathered all specific pieces of knowledge. The same for other elder Sith Lords. If anyone in the empire had omniscience then we would have laid waste to the Republic by now and that person would be unstoppable. Just because a thing can be known does not mean it is." Zeno takes another slow and careful bite of his meal.

Shaisha took a lazy bite of her own breakfast. This conversation was growing... well, it was getting weird, and it was too early in the morning to speak in weird matters.

"Omniscience is quite the leap," she offered with a small mirthful chuckle. "Would be nice to have, though."

"It would indeed," Zeno replies before taking another bite for a small pause in the conversation before moving on.

"Has your training focused on any specific areas?" He seems to direct this outward to whoever wishes to answer it.

Baesal nodded at Zeno's comment

''I suppose you could say so...I lean on practical application of the Force concerning the manipulation of materials and material principles''

She took note of the Togruta's reply before responding herself.

"Mostly learning the lightsaber. Both my parents placed a great emphasis on it."

Zeno nods, "Likewise. My father made certain that I knew what I was doing with a lightsaber. Did your training favor a specific form?"

"It did. The same form my mother was a master of."

She smiled and took a sip of drink. "But a lady needs to have some secrets." A small wink was given to Zeno.

"We'll have to spar so that I can learn that secret then. I imagine I'll continue practicing my form when not taking part in other lessons or trying to dig up secrets in the wastes." While his tone seems entertained he still keeps a mostly neutral expression.

He turns to the alien. "I've only gotten some basic education on mechanical endeavors so that I can do basic maintenance on starships when there are no specialists about. I wasn't aware that there were ways to use the force to manipulate such things specifically. There are stories of the old Sith using weapons that they could enhance with the force... is that related to your field of study?"

She nods finishing a mouthful

''It is actually. That might be a technique not seen in years but I am curious about pursuing it nonetheless.''

She moves one of her lekku across her shoulder

Good to know who is going to be a future lord, and who is going to be a future speeder-repairer, Shaisha glanced between the two.

"It does sound interesting... I would like to see how that develops, eventually. Especially if you were to bring back a technique not seen in some time."

"It would be a significant accomplishment," Zeno says with a nod. "It would be a talent that I'd seek to learn if it was rediscovered. It never hurts to have one more weapon in your arsenal."

"I imagine many would be interested in such," she nodded, looking back at the Togruta. "I'm sure any potential future master would be impressed if a student was to rediscover a lost technique."

''Probably'' she answers swallowing a bite

''If that technique can be improved upon then it might open a new field of study''

"Has to be rediscovered first. And that is an old technique that fell by the wayside. Likely because people thought it was obsolete in the face of the growing popularity of lightsabers," Zeno replies. "It's likely buried under the dust of millenia and will require some serious excavation."

"That does seem likely," the femme Sith agreed, munching on some of the flatbread.

"Korriban is full of places that have gathered dust for a long time, possibly holding ancient trophies and weapons. And there's never a lack of hopeful students that go looking in the Valley of the Dark Lords."
