The Dark Academy on Korriban

While the guards around the academy were still giving her difficulties on every turn; Layne had found herself with no trouble regarding the speeder. Probably because they didn't know about it. She'd managed to stash it the other time, after all. So here she was; with company. It might have been a bit of a tight fit though. Hopefully, such inconveniences would be worth it as they neared their destination.

Moyr was a quiet driver this time. It was Baes' idea, and she didn't want to voice her reservations because most assuredly someone would get incensed. But also because she realised a working formula for such raids may have died with Zeno becoming Zash's lackey.

Baesal was loaded and taking heavy notes. She was not confortable sharing a seat with R5-T8 but the droid might prove invaluable.

''So, we go to the palace or the pyramid first?''

"Which one did you say was most promising again?"

She typed

''I'd go with The Great Palace first. Since it was destroyed soon after Ajunta Pall's fall R5-T8's knowledge of the place and the traps is likely still valid.''

She looked over the horizon and then at her pad

''Since he was the builder's own droid he might know secrets location and underground passages that were not discovered...and should we find nothing of note we can make a detour for The Black Pyramid''

"Alright. Palace it is."

She took the speeder toward the coordinates.

"Bring me up to speed, Baes. What is this that we're going to raid?"

Moyr finally asked quietly when speeders slowed down.

"The ruins of The Great Palace, Ajunta Pall's former Seat of power, which was built on the Vaults of Harandim-She"

She brings up a holomap of the location given by Savas

"Their is supposed to be nothing left of the place but I doubt it..."

"Remember I blew Savas' test. Speak Basic to me. Who are the folks you mentioned?"

Another speeder follows the group and their droid. Dark robes billowing as she comes along side Layne’s speeder with a nod. On her hip dangles a lightsaber and wisps of blonde hair are visible beneath the cowls of the hood.

The plateau where the palace once stood draws near, now it is just a tangle of ruined stonework, much of it eroded and shattered.

"Even *I* know Ajunta Pall," she said. "He conquered Korriban and was the first Dark Lord of the Sith."

The arrival of Veers was met with a return nod. "I invited her along. She should prove useful," she said to the others as neared the ruins.

This should be... interesting, at least.

Bringing Veers along was going to be either a genius move, or a mistake, but she was pretty sure the woman would find out if Layne didn't bring her in on this, and that could screw up other plans. Besides, she'd probably remember where all the really good loot was.

"Alright. Let's stop over there."

""Hello, Aspirant Veers."

Moyr said charmingly, stopping her overloaded speeder. She was glad she had played stupid. Being considered a useful idiot may be doubly beneficial with the blonde wild card suddenly introduced into this round of Pazaak of Sith life.

Baesal looked at Veers then at Layne and then back at Veers and raised an eyebrow.

Layne brought her?

"Good afternoon aspirant Veers"

Veers slows to a stop and hops off the speeder and pulls back her hood and smiles, “So this does not seem like much of a palace.”

"Well, it's been here for thousands of years," she said as she got out of the speeder and checked her equipment. "It probably looked better back when it was built."

She gave the place a quick casual glance-over. "Okay, so just to be clear. I'm the one who led us here. I'm the one who okay'ed you all being here. So I'm the one who gets first pick of whatever we find. If we're lucky though, there should be plenty for everyone. So, let's start by finding a way in."

"It was destroyed not long after the fall of Ajunta Pall but something might remain. The Vaults of Haradim-she could also be there."

She replies

"R5-T8, remember anything?"

Moyr stayed silent, studying the environs.

“Remembering is an organic quality, my databanks are flawless, Master,” the protocol droid responds.

“This current layout has seen better days if I may say so. What are we looking for?”

"A way in, you stupid droid. Look around at what you see, compare it to your databanks, figure out the likeliest way inside the parts of the structure that might have remained."

"Precisely that. We need a way in, my metal buddy"

“My word, well there is an access to the sewers, right where this ruined pillar is,” the droid says approaching a ruined and broken stone pillar. It seems to have been here an age and looks to weigh several tons.

Baesal raised an eyebrow

''Hmph...Maybe we could move it with the speeders and ropes? Or should we hack it into small pieces?''

Veers reaches out and lifts the pillar with little effort and tosses it aside with a clamor. The stone pillar slides to a halt some fifteen meters away. She glances at Baesal and says, “So who is going in first?”

"See? Told you she'd be useful to have along."

Layne would head into the opening then. "I think the droid said there were no traps at this level? Let's go."

((unless the droid interjects with a 'well actually...'))

R5-T8 says, “Right where it should be.” It points at the ground and there seems to be a metallic access hatch.

“This should put us in maintenance tunnels, according to my data banks they are large enough for sentient beings under 1.6 meters. From there we can access the sewer system or enter a section called the slave pits.”
