The Dark Academy on Korriban

Rumun is excited. He don't stop looking around, making registering everything he sees with his personal datapad.

'' Digging old sith relics, fascinating!...'' He says to himself aloud.

He walks around, take notes, pictures,etc.

Actually is a bit annoying, and the other 'high class' students and aspirants already are making not-so-friendly comments about his behavior.

"Excited, aspirant?"

Moyr apparently was not one of the annoyed. She strode closer with a small smile.

"What do you hope to discover here?"

'' Oh! Lady Moyr. Good to see you this day '' Rumun bows to the female twi'lek '' Yes, I cannot deny my excitement. A bad habit. Everytime that I can learn and see something with historical value my heart beats. Fascinating. ''

'' Well if I were to choose something that i could find, perhaps, let's see...'' He thought for a moment. ''The double-bladed lightsaber of Lord Exar Kun could be awesome. Ha! but I guess I'm at the wrong place, that one must be at his tomb. Anyway anything with historical value would be a win for me, doesn't matter what.''

'' And you, My Lady, are you interested in something in particular?''

"We may be in a wrong place for many things we'd want, so here I am more interested what I luck out with."

She smiled, laying her hand on the hilt of her twin-blade.

"Was it Lord Kun who made the double blade first?"

'' From what I have read, no, he was not the first. The double bladed lightsabers were designed by the Sith of the Old Empire, the original siths. But there's no record that survives. Probably the idea of fighting with two blades comes from other designs or by the use of fighting staffs...'' Rumun explained her what he knows.

'' ...But Lord Exar Kun made the use of double-blade lightsabers famous, his contribution to the Niman fighting form are undeniable.'' He adds.

Moyr listened intently.

"Who's the current master of the Niman form?"

'' I cannot say, unfortunately. Form VI while versatile is not very used as it often fails to create the conditions to win a fight. Most lightsaber duelist choose Makashi, Ataru or Shien/Djem So when it comes to fighting. Those three forms are more focused in duelling. And each of those forms play to the user strengths. Precision for Makashi, athletics and acrobatics for Ataru, strength and domination for Shien/Djem So. '' He explained Moyr about the fighting forms.

'' Also Niman is hard to master because of the heavy reliance of the force during the combat. Not many people can concentrate on the fighting and the usage of the force, at the same time.'' He continues.

''That's one of the reasons that Lord Exar Kun is remembered, he was not defeated in a duel, even when he was a Niman form practicioner. Truly remarkable achievement.''

"That was quite informative, Rumun. Thank you. I prefer the twin-blade but I have yet to determine the style my proclivities would best fit in. Would Niman be your choice?"

''Well I'm not a lightsaber master so when you become a Sith apprentice you should ask your master for more details '' He smiles to Moyr

'' I guess so'' He shrugs with the twi'lek's question.

'' Because of my height and my, how to says it, 'lack' of more physical traits I suppose I should master Niman. Also the usage of the force during combat, I feel that should be my path''

'' One should use their strengths. While I lack power or skills in several aspects, I can use the force to help me'' He says. '' You should train into a form that uses and complements your strengths, Lady Moyr''

"It may be Shien in the end for me. Time and hours of training will tell."

She paused.

"Speaking of apprenticeship, do you have a master of preference?"

'' Hmm interesing question, but isn't the master who chooses his apprentice?'' Rumun thinks.

'' But if I have to choose someone, I guess it would be Lord Zash. She is the only one that shares my interests'' Rumun said.

'' May I ask what's your preference, Lady Moyr?'' He asked politely.

"Lord Hoshi, for obvious reasons. But Zash? Hmmm. Have you gone exploring with her already?"

'' Not yet, unfortunately'' He shrugs.

'' Well, I concurr that Lord Hoshi seems like obvious choice for you, my lady''

"You know that the lifespan of Lord Zash's apprentices is quite short?"

Moyr asked curiously.

"You've already got quite close to being torn up by her peculiar circumstances."

'' Hmm? What do you mean by that? '' The duros asked with interest about Zash.

'' Well, I was weak, and I still are. The only way to become strong is fullfilling what I did said. What alternatives do I have? '' Rumun says, his voice is calm.

"Design your own game and play it to the hilt, Rum. If you don't like where you are, be creative about your opposition. Slavish mentality won't get you anywhere. Mhmm?"

Moyr looked at the Duros intently.

'' I ... I ...'' Now Moyr comment slaps Rumun.

Was he still a slave? Mentally enslaved?

Well, he did find this whole situation unfair. His failures were not because of him being weak, there were mostly because of others and their stagnant ways and hypocrisy.
He thought about it. He was supressing all of this anger... anger against the sith, anger against those pesky imperials that treat him like garbage, anger against Zash's unfair quest. For a moment Rumun's red eyes turned into a sulphurous yellow. He looked Moyr into her eyes.

Did she awoken something inside Rumun? Probably, yes...

She smiled at his mounting anger, encouragingly, and started to recite.

"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, you gain strength.
Through strength, you gain power.
Through power, you gain victory.
Through victory, your chains are broken.
The Force shall free you.

Yes, Rum, to be Sith you have to be angry at the Sith for how they mistreat you. They tell you to obey but what that means is that in the end you should not. Pierce the hypocrisy and trust your own feelings. Only they will give you freedom."

He also recited. His anger turns into Hate.

'' Thanks, Lady Moyr... '' A pause. His eyes return to normal. '' ...your wisdom cleared my doubts. I've made my mind about several things. You are completely right, only my own path will give me the freedom that I want and deserve. What a blind fool I have been''

She nodded slowly, pulling out her datapad.

"Let me show you something, about Zash and her late apprentice, Faln."

Rumun looks at the holographic image. He is angered about what he is seeing.

'' I guess his apprentice did not get a very nice apprenticeship course... She killed her own apprentice, for what reason? ''

"She didn't kill that one, a slave I convinced to reach for his freedom ultimately did, the wretched, maddened creature Faln became after this. Because of the imperfection of the ritual that is supposed to sate her hunger for a tapping into the Force ahead or even without its true mastery. The ritual is most likely about draining the Force from others. There was a number of apprentices before Faln, all dead because of her experiments. And as you know, she's 'recruiting' now."

'' So I can assume that she uses her apprentices as a 'fuel' source? Draining their strength for some other purpose?''

'' So her 'mision' is in reality a way to get myself involved in her devious plans. So if I become her apprentice, my final fate will be the same as her past apprentices...'' The duros comments.

'' How did you got this information? I can pressume that she is particularly careful about keeping this as a secret.''

"I have been investigating this ever since I met Faln in the desert on the day of our arrival. Some facts are available through public databases. Some required more effort... like looking for clues on the gruesome ritual in the old tombs. The recording comes from Faln's datapad."

She paused.

"She may not care about secrecy as much as you think but I have not confronted her yet."

'' Well, taking on account all this information I advise you not to confront her... not yet. That she is powerful, that's without any doubts. Confronting her directly is probably very close to committing suicide...''

''Anyway, I must give you my thanks, Lady Moyr. For opening my eyes to many things. I owe you a big favor'' Rumun bows to her. '' If you need any asistance in some endeavour, I will be eager to help you''
