The Dark Academy on Korriban

After his morning routine in the library Jo'ren switched over to the digital data repositories. He had a plan to meet up with Grenda later, but his research on the Valley of the Dark Lords had been successful a while back, so he just scanned those documents as a refresher. Now he was far more interested in what secrets Yavin might hold. So, having read several books on the subject he was now armed with keywords and began inputting them into the database. Lord Savas would probably be amazed to see the big sith conducting this sort of research, but there he was.

Every so often he looked up to see if 2V was around, it had been a while since he had last held an amusing conversation with the droid.

Jo'ren wasn't the only one there, as a familiar Sith was researching in the library as well.

She looked up to see the giant Red Menace.... reading? Oh? He could read. My, what wonders.

"Aspirant Rath, nice to see you here."

"Hmm?" Jo'ren looked up to see the small sith seer who had warned them about the Massassi attack. He stretched out a few muscles in his neck that were complaining about his reading posture and then threw her a smile.

"Oh, nice to see you too Aspirant Okatesh. Been a while: how's things?"

"Quite good actually. I think I will have some time tonight to finish my lightsaber, and a side project is coming along nicely. How about you? You're going to the Council Session later today?" She returned his smile.

"That's good news, especially given your vision." He referred to the bit where they seemed to be attacked by Massassi warriors. "Yes, I've been invited to attend the first session. Quite the honour."

He gestured to the computer.

"Decided I'd start digging into the Lore on Yavin 4. Research isn't exactly my specialty but you never know what you're going to find." Like lost techniques of lightsaber combat.

"That seems like a sound idea." And here I fought you would just slash at them until they die.

"So who knows, soon I may be talking to Darth Wrath?" The flattery was thick, and her voice sweet as she sat down. "So, found anything useful?"

That brought a light chuckle to his lips. "Well, I'm sure the Emperor's Wrath might have something to say about that choice."

He pointed to a bunch of files that he had pulled up on the Yavin system. "Maybe. I've been digging up as much as I can. Of course, I'm the instructors have specific plans for us but there should be time to explore at least."

"Darth Ill Temper then?" Her voice continued to be sweet, as she poured over what he found. "Yes, very specific I am sure... that said, I do think we will have opportunity to do some research of our own."

He raised an eyebrow questioningly. "That your Force-sight speaking or general intuition?"

Returning to the computer screen he added. "Who knows where most of these Darth names come from anyhow? Well, I bet Lord Savas could recommend a book for that."

"Just woman's intuition. If I delve too much into the Force for answers, I will lose too much of my self, and I wouldn't want that."

She glanced at the paper. "Good question... though perhaps we should be glad no one has called themselves Darth Evil yet?"

That provoked a chuckle. "Yes, yet."

He have her a more serious look when she spoke of losing herself in the force. "Interesting. I hadn't realised that was a possibility."

With a shrug he looked back at the files. "Well then, old school reading and preparation will have to do."

"If one relies too much on the Force to tell her the future, they won't pay attention to the present, and lose sight of their own vision." She shrugged. "The future is only as useful as what you can make use of it for the present, after all."

“I am 2V-R8, how can this most useful droid be of assistance?” the droid replies, it looks like the chassis has been repaired due to recent damage.

"Hey, it's my old friend two-vee! You okay there buddy?" It appeared to have seen better times.

"We're looking for maps and schematics associated with the Yavin system."

“Oh kind and gentle Lord Rath, I will bring you the digital files,” the droid responds.

"You have friends now? And here I thought I was special." Replied the woman with a smirk.

"Thanks pal.". Jo'ren grinned at Sinea as the droid scurries away. "You know what they say. Sometimes you get more with a kind word and a lightsaber..."

"You are special though, don't get jealous now."

"You're just saying that because I'm not running on a battery." She batted her eyelids at him, her smile static.

He lifted a big hand over towards one of hers. "Hmm, maybe I should check your pulse just to be sure?"

She extended her hands. "I was just recently oiled, I'll let you know."

He touched them gently, hands rough with calluses from training. "Hmm, oiled up you say? That's an image I won't shake for a while." Jo'ren had been so intent upon his training that he hadn't really thought about girls since Shaisha. Perhaps that was the price of becoming a savant, but he was going to take his own path in that respect.

"So, you mentioned finishing your lightsaber? What type are you building?"

"Oh my, lost your focus already?" Her fingers wiggled in his palm.

"Just a basic hilt for now, though I do think it might be worth to modify the grip so it matches that of a duelist's."

"My focus is impressive, it doesn't go away that easily..." He winked. "Yes, a duellist's hilt seems a sensible choice."

Jo'ren had already decided that he would not limit himself to just the Shii-Cho style. Where to go next though? Niman, like Exar Kun? Ataru, like Jaina Von? Or Soresu had it's appeal too...

"Have you started researching Yavin yourself? I thought with your visions you'd be way ahead of me by now."

"Is that a challenge, my dear Rath?" She raised an eyebrow in question.

"Not Yavin itself exactly... more like the building that I saw, and some more general topics that may be of use." She leaned in closer. "I think I can find something that will serve useful."

"A challenge? But of course my lady Okatesh." He nodded firmly with a smirk.

"Well now, that's good news. What sort of something are you talking about here?"
