The Dark Academy on Korriban

"Both," he replied. "Father didn't take much interest early on. "Mostly doing what Sith Lords do, while he waited for powers to manifest. Then I was five and being taught the code. They agreed that I should go through as brutal training as I could. So Deathwright combat with a sith tutor between. Then off to Korriban a week after graduation. They both wanted me to be a powerful killer to represent the family and father's ideals. And that's the path I'm on."

"It must be a difficult thing, to go down the path others have designed for you, Zeno. Now desire to take a detour, to do your own thing?"

"In a way. I'm not sure they knew how the academy might change me. Though I still do want to honor the Deathwright name and hold many of my father's ideals. And I have become a more proficient killer..." he says with a shrug. "So maybe I'm still dancing to their tune. But it's been ingrained and the tune ain't so bad."

He takes a drink from his refilled cup.

"But I think I'm gonna be a bit..." he closes his eyes for a moment. "Farther from the path I was expecting to be on."

At least you aren't an apprentice to the man who killed your father.

"We all end up at interesting paths... or interesting courses to get to an expected destination. Gotta enjoy the journey, wherever it takes you."

"Trying to enjoy it," he says. "Sometimes you're walking through a field of shit though. And that's never fun."

"I'm a trailblazer. Shit happens on the way. Other things too. I still live. And that's philosophical enough for me."

Moyr smirked and drank some more, rubbing knees against one another.

He chuckled, "A good bit of cantina philosophy if I ever heard it."

"True enough," he says taking a drink.

In true alcohol induced fashion, abrupt subject change. "I remember my first kill. Like it was yesterday. I was 14. He had taken out my right engine and I thought I was done for." He explains his out-of-nowhere story.

"So I cranked the re-entry stabilizers and used them to point myself in his direction. Locked on and let a rip with the proton torpedoes. Surprised the hell out of me. Was a shit day. The damage my starfighter took left shrapnel from the cockpit in my calf and side."

"Didn't you think about using the engine death to take a full backside spin and get him into short range for the cockpit guns?"

The subject suddenly connected with Moyr's interests. Not the war scars, she cared not about those.

"Considered it, but his ship was more maneuverable than mine and he'd be able to avoid fire. Couldn't outrun a torpedo though. So I used up the bulk of the stabilizer feul for a gambit to get a lock," he says. "Payed off since I'm here and he finally got his execution. Killed 2 trainees before me," he replies. "He was sentenced to death for the murder of 3 imperial diplomats and 32 citizens in a bombing."

"Quite an efficient way of dealing with prisoners." Sylvain said, starting to feel the buzz a bit himself.

In another random drunk tangent, "I was reminded of a time at a party in Dromund Kaas when a guy stayed out so late and had so many death sticks that he jumped face first out of the taxi he was riding home."

"And thats why I don't use deathsticks," he says. "Liquor is bad enough for me."

Sylvain nodded, "The foolishness of much of the nobility is awe-inspiring."

Then chuckled, "But so is the back-stabbing of the Sith... murdering Ministers of War and what not."

"Murder? All he had heard on the matters were Baras's announcement, Sylvain's public declaration, and the Wrath's judgment.

Sylvain caught himself and shook his head, "Must be the drink getting to me. Thinking up crazy stuff that no one should say in public."

He chuckled, "Maybe some other time."

"Hey... man," he says. "If somethings bothering you we should talk about it? Maybe we can get a room upstairs and take a bottle to enjoy?"

He shook his head, "Nah, I got a date in a little bit. I'm going to need some caffeine to get ready for it."

"If yoou ever want to talk or a hand, you know how totalk to me." The sith blood orders a couple coffees.

He smiled, "Of course. It'd be nice to have some more friends."

"I've always enjoyed our talks Sylvain. It's too bad... we haven't worked together more," he says, taking a sip of coffee and ordering another water.

"We'll have to rectify that on Yavin." He said with a smile.

"Should I leave you to your blooming bromance, gentlemen?"

Moyr stood up from her stool.

"Not at all," Zeno says to Moyr. "Stay. Yavin will be exciting for all of us I'm sure."

"Yes, stay." He said with a smile. He hadn't felt they had left her out, she was very much a part of this conversation.

"What I said to Zeno applies all the more to you too Moyr."

"That was supposed to be a polite way to tell you I need to visit the refresher. Keep the drinks cool, I'll be right back."

She smiled, then rushed off, her rear swinging more than usual.
