The Dark Academy on Korriban

"Means she has a sense of adventure, I guess," Shaisha chuckled.

"Doesn't sound too bad. I'd rather be more active in my service to the Empire's efforts, but it does sound tempting to search for ancient knowledge too... knowledge that could be used for the Empire's greater good." Picking up her datapad, she took a look at what Sylvain had sent over. "... I guess the only one I would prefer to avoid is the twi'lek."

He smiled, "Why is that Shai?"

"One thing is to have an open mind to new ideas. It's another matter entirely to act so brazenly against the traditions of the Sith. She is effective, though perhaps a bit too rash in her actions judging from those two glass marbles left in her wake, but sooner or later I suspect her antics will annoy members of the Dark Council enough."

Shaisha wrinkled her nose. "If the Hutts are to fall in line to Imperial control, glassing one of their worlds isn't the best part to make them come willingly to the table. Both planets could've been potential resources for the Empire, but her actions removed any such potential."

Sylvain smiled, "You sound like a Torsin."

He then laughed, "I do share your same appraisal. The only merit I could see in becoming her apprentice is to one day be the one with the best chance to cut her down."

"What can I say, my dear foster-family has rubbed off on me," she gave Sylvain a wink.

"Better be the one to cut her down and take her place, than to be eliminated by her own potential downfall. Tradition dictates that a disgraced Sith's powerbase is destroyed alongside them. I'd hate to see either of you brought low by foolish Lords like that one."

He smiled, "Father would be proud."

"For now we shall leave her for other less fortunate aspirants to fight over."

"That one will get what is coming to her someday, she must, for the good of the Empire I hope it is soon." Kristal added in on the matter, having no taste for even entertaining the idea of serving under such a wasteful master.

Sylvain nodded, "Either of you meet anyone interesting on the ship yet?"

"Not particularly.."

Leilani piped in as if she was part of the conversation the whole time, walking in cradling the spine of an open book in one hand and using the other to gently keep the pages down, hardly even looking up from whatever she was engrossed in at the moment. She paused for a moment, as if considering the statement she had made for a moment, then gave a small shrug of her shoulders. "Though I suppose...being intentionally uninteresting until the times call for it is a very...sith-y...thing to do. Sith-ish? Sith-like..."

She finally rested the thin ribbon placeholder in between the pages and shut the book with a small thump, tossing it up on the upper bunk she had claimed as her own; more specifically, given the connection of the three, it was the bunk she had conceded to having after the others had picked their preference. She hopped up onto the bed, sitting cross-legged with one elbow resting on a knee and using the same hand to prop her chin.

"Sith-esque?" Sylvain offered with a smile.

Then with a bit more suave, "That's a noble sentiment, but I assume a woman of your class and grace will most likely find it difficult not to stand out."

"Some of interest," Shaisha mentioned in passing, taking a note of the addition to the gathering.

"Be too modest and uninteresting, and some might think you weak." Such Sith words of wisdom.

"Another valid point. To go by completely unnoticed in this circumstance may not lead to the best possible outcome. If you'd like some help in that end of things, I'd be more than willing to help."

He motioned to the two others, "They'd never admit it, but without me this one..." He points to Shaisha, "...would probably be running about streaking in the observatory right now."

Then pointing to Kristal, "And this one wouldn't have ever left her house until she turned 18, because the workout facilities are first rate."

He smiled, "I can help you adapt and navigate this environment."

"Nonsense. The command bridge would be much more suitable than the observatory," she said with a complete straight face.

Sylvain laughed heartily, "Perhaps I have only been partially successful in my 'helping'. The thought still remains even if the action doesn't accompany it."

"Mhm...Sith-esque, that is much better." Leilani muttered thoughtfully.

"I suppose it depends on what they're focusing on, potential masters or one another. Others may not worry so much if you seem weak, masters won't be too impressed. Games of many faces, and all that." She said the last words as if it was quoting someone, perhaps it was, though there was no telling exactly whom the words originally came from.

"That would be nice, I fear an environment like Korriban is a bit out of my usual element. Who knows, maybe if you streak through the wastes and tombs of Korriban the master's would be impressed...if not a little confused."

"I would be happy to accompany you three on any such excursion as an observer." He chuckled slightly.

"Though I fear the aftermath if I wasn't to join in the streaking from Shaisha."

"Might not be too bad to have a fourth member along for a trip into the tombs," Shaisha smirked. "If you're up for that kind of trouble, that is."

It was certainly true, without the nudge from the others to go with them Kristal may have very well spent the entirety of her youth preparing to face true combat. Little did she know how much more experience she would get tagging along. For that reason alone, Kristal turned her head to the side a little as she gave a slight nod. Unable to deny it.

Offering not words, but a look as she awaited the answer to Shaisha's question from Leilani. Ready to make her judgement of the woman based on the words and other qualities of her response.

Pausing for a moment, looking perplexed, Leilani's mouth opened for just a moment, then closed. They weren't kidding. She had thought they were just joking at first, they seemed like the sort of bunch to do that; no, they actually wanted to go into the tombs. More so, they were essentially asking if she was going to come along, or perhaps even implying that she was. Well, better to find out early how much safety money can provide. It might also prove that she's valuable enough to not brutally murder and feed to nexu. Were there Nexu on Korriban? Primarily not, not the proper ecology nor the smaller biodiversity of lesser species to provide means of predation. What did exactly lurk on the planet the Sith called home?

She snapped out of her thoughts for a moment later, "Yes, yeah, sure. I'll go to the tombs" she said, trying to make it sound as if she hadn't just possibly sealed her own fate in a sand-filled hellhole. "Could be useful, given the danger." she glanced down at the backpack and large, heavy, duffel-like bag beside it, the one that she had slung over her shoulder on a strap when she came on the ship in the first place.

Sylvain smiled warmly, "Excellent!"

He walked over and sat next to Leilani putting his arm around her shoulder in a friendly manner.

"What are you good at?" He asked with a smile.

"Shai is our resident creative problem solver. Kris is our muscle and spine. I'm the negotiator and mouth piece." He smiled, "What do you pride yourself in?"

Leilani laughed at the arm slung around her shoulder. At his question her eyes immediately befell the larger of the two bags again, reaching up and swiping a bit of hair out of her face self-consciously, "Well..I'm afraid it isn't very sith-esque." she said, reflecting inwardly that sith-like would probably have fit better in this situation. She had clearly been on this damn ship for too long...stupid linguistics.

"Medicine...I was studying in Dromund Kaas and was going to have my residency in Odile Vaiken Memorial Medical Center in the city before...well...this happened." she swept a hand out a little, as if to refer to the situation they were all generally in.

"Really? By damn! How fortunate!" He smiled and squeezed her shoulder tightly.

"Looks like the powers that be are on our side. Korriban rarely leaves an adventurer unscathed." He smiled and looked to the others, "I think we hit the jackpot."

"Don't scare the poor woman, Syl."

Shaisha chuckled. "We'll be happy to have you along, though we hope there won't be a need for emergency treatments."

"It would be best to avoid such a need," Kristal conceded, though she wasn't quite in agreement about not scaring the girl. Something she desired to leave without comment. In truth, from her response, she wasn't quite sure the girl was ready. However she wasn't her keeper and it was her decision to make. As long as she carried her own weight that is.

As she continued to sit, Kristal's right hand dropped the the edge of the bed. Palm rested on the hard metal as she rolled her fingers along it.

Knowing Kristal as well as he did Slyvain could sense the woman's apprehension. Smiling over at Kristal he put his arm down off of Leilani's shoulder and spoke, "It's best to have all our contingencies prepared for. Rushing in headlong to a challenge without considering the implications is foolish. It'd be best if things go perfectly, but if life has taught us anything it is that things never do go perfectly."

He then turned to Leilani again and smiled his charming smile, "I think working with us could be a great thing. We're all familiar with the academy, we know how to be prudent, but also know when to take risks. And along with you needing us, we could definitely use your skills. I'd personally love it if you'd come with us on an excursion or two. The Empire is always stronger, when more of us stand together and use our talents to better ourselves and the cause."
