The Dark Academy on Korriban

Being the first to their room, Shaisha claimed the top bunk, again, and sat down to wait for the other two.

Plugging in her headphones, she set her datapad to play some of the collection of Sith opera she remember her mother being fond of listening to.

Sylvain entered the room not much later than Shaisha.

"Sup Shai?" He said as he found the bunk on the bottom beneath her.

"Syl," she nodded in return and lowered the volume of the music, but still kept it playing. "Saw Kris behind in the line... she might be a while longer."

He nodded, "How was your day? Talk things out with Kris?"

"... We talked last night. After the Council meeting." Judging by her tone, it went much better than Shaisha had expected it to go after such a short amount of time.

When she had told Kristal weeks ago that she might not have been so forgiving herself had their positions been reversed, she had meant it.

He smiled though she probably couldn't see it since he was directly under her.

"Good. I'd hate to have to sit in silence for three days on our way to Yavin." He playfully kicked the bottom of Shaisha's mattress.

"Silence with you in the room? That sounds like a miracl... I mean, very unlikely," she chuckled dryly.

"How did the council meeting go for you?"

"Well enough. Kris says your half of the meeting was a bit more exciting than mine." He said.

"All they did in mine was elect a new Grand Moff. One of Marr's subordinates. An arrangement Baras asked for."

"Hm... an odd choice. I'm guessing Marr didn't make that decision lightly?" From what she had gathered, the two were rather opposed in terms of ideology and goals.

"No, he didn't. Probably thought it was some type of trap. It may very well be." He said.

"But Baras doesn't seem to be making a major play right now. He's setting up things... what those things are I think everyone is still trying to ascertain."

"So it would seem," she murmured, leaning over the edge of her bunk so she could look down at Sylvain.

"I have some ideas, but should wait for Kris to get here."

He smiled teasingly, "Ooooh. Secret secrets."

"Secrets, yes, but repeating myself twice over is inefficient. I thought you hated inefficiency, hm?" she teased.

He chuckled, "You know me well."

He then put his arms behind his head as he laid himself down, "You're the third person in as many days that has told me to be patient. I didn't know I was so antsy until now."

He chuckled.

"I'm guessing Kris is one of them. Who is the other one then?" she grinned.

"Baras." He said with a smile.

"So the three most important people in my life right now... Well you all and mother I suppose."

"... You still sure about going forward with being his apprentice?" she asked, knowing the answer, but she wanted the last confirmation from Sylvain.

He nodded, "It is the best path before me... and I've been making my position one of relative importance to Baras."

She nodded. Not really happy with the answer, but she understood why he chose it. "Good. Then if all goes as we want it to, Kristal will serve Darth Marr... and I might serve Darth Vowrawn."

He smiled, "So you've set your sights on someone finally? Why big 'V'?"

"He amuses me," she said at first with a playful smile. "And I think learning under someone with a different view on things than me will broaden my horizons. If I were to choose someone with the same philosophical values, it would just be a continuation of an echo chamber..."

He smiled, "Without me to fill the sound vacuum you need someone else to keep you entertained? I see."

He chuckled. "Anything I can do to help that happen for you?"

"If I can't manage it on my own, then I'm not worthy for it," she chuckled. "Besides, it might be best if you didn't... considering Baras has taken you under his wing."

He nodded, "How considerate Shai."

He chuckled, "If Baras can have his private circles, I can have mine too."

"From what I understand of the Council, private circles is almost all it is. Everyone has their circles," she grinned. "And who knows, we can keep having ours, even after we go our separate ways to serve different masters?"
