The Dark Academy on Korriban

Jo'ren slowly lowered his glass and turned to face Shaisha. "Forests. On Korriban. And a fight with some kind of ancient sith warrior woman? Who hit you with a tree."

He sighed as if he thought it was a joke, then looked at her with genuine curiosity. "This tribe... Were they riding on tuk'ata?"

She wasn't quite sure if he was leading her on to make fun of her, or if he was taking her seriosuly.

"... Yes. They were. The one who came to enslave the tribe, they rode tuk'atas."

He kept his gaze fixed on her with intense focus. "Huh. And this tuk'ata riding woman who hit you with a tree. Did she have any other weapons? Any slightly more mundane weapons?"

Well, that ruled out being ridiculed, as it seems Jo'ren had a few things he knew too.

"An axe," she nodded, "of black metal."

He sat up again a bit taller and took a stiff drink. "What do you know about her? Did your pal Spindral say anything about her when you told him about it? Or how old it was?"

"I have a feeling it's your turn to share now, given that you seem to know a lot about this too... then I will consider telling more about what I know." She sat up straight, slowly twirling the glass between her fingers as she looked at Jo'ren patiently.

"I've seen her. The woman you mentioned. But I've seen her through her own eyes. Kind of."

He gave her a funny look.

"She's here. Kind of."

She brought the glass to her lips. "I know."

Well that was a load off. He nodded. "Right. Good. So you know who she's in then? Do you know who she is though? Or was, originally, I suppose?"

"So curious, Jo'ren," a playful smile formed behind the rim of her glass. "And yet I've told you much more than you have told me. How did you come across this, and why so interested?"

"Leaving b aside the fact you traveled back in time or some such, you've told me that you know there's some sort of spirit possessed person running around here. Which means there's another story you haven't told me about you came to know that."

He gave her a winning smile. "Would you believe me if I told you I met her by accident." He pointed to a spot at the bar. "Just there?"

"Since you're believing my tale, I believe yours," she retorted kindly with a smile, taking note of where he was pointing.

"Alright then. Sounds fair." He sipped some more beer. "I was at the bar for the first time and decided to try out my force senses. Ended up with the worst headache of my life, a bleeding nose, and a vision of what you described."

For a moment, she was a bit disappointed that Jo'ren hadn't discovered it in the same way she had, but the odds of two people having such visitations as she had had were probably extremly slim.

"Good to see you recovered from that. Still better than being hit by a tree though." She chuckled softly. "And you've been curious ever since, seeking to find out the truth?"

He nodded. "Yeah. I'm convinced she didn't know I did it, but I'm curious about who and/or what she is and what she wants."

"What she wants... I do not know, at least not specifically. I can venture a few guesses, considering she is a Dark Side ghost, and what they usually want the most is to live again and continue what they were doing before their death."

She took a glance around them. Thankfully, given the early hour of the day, they seemed relatively alone.

"Finding her when I did yesterday wasn't exactly planned. As I said, I was following visions... vague memories or the Force guiding me, and I didn't know what I would find. I was looking for something called the Forgotten, but what I found was an echo of the past through the Force."

"A ghost. Okay. And you're saying you fought her in the past? Or you had a vision of you fighting her in the past?"

"I fought her in the past... At least I think that's how it worked. I'm kind of new at this business, to be honest. Anyway, I assure you it was no vision, my injuries were quite real." As if to punctuate her words, she placed down her glass and began to pull up her top.

Stopping just about below the chest, her russet-red skin was heavily bruised. It did look like something large had smashed into her with powerful force.

"If it had just been visions, or a dream, I would not have been as hurt as I was."

Perhaps a little cheekily he reached out and placed a hand on the bruises. "Okay, feels real. Besides which I believe you. Hit with a tree huh?"

He removed the hand and drank some more beer. "So what are you planning to do about it? Her. The situation."

His touch was rarely unwelcome, and it wasn't this time either, though she did had to resist the urge to flinch. As he removed his hand, she let the top go back down.

"I'm not sure yet... she is powerful, and dangerous." And damnit, Syl, I told you you should've killed her back when you had the chance. "And I suspect her interests are entirely self-serving, and not in the least beneficial to the Empire or anyone else."

The big guy just nodded.

"Figured." He looked into his glass for a while and thought about all the things that had happened while he had been in the sixes. "This place has a weird mix of memories for me you know... Okay, so she's an out-of-time dark force ghost. How the fuck did she get here, and how do we send her back?"

"I'm not sure," she replied in a low murmur. "What do you mean 'weird mix of memories', though?"

He shrugged. "Every time I come into this place something odd happens. I'm not exactly a regular visitor, so it's starting to become a tradition."

"Ah, I see... I haven't been here since... oh, since we arrived here, actually," she was a bit surprised she hadn't been here more often after that incident, but then again, there had been a lot of things keeping her occupied.

Still, a little disappointed that Jo'ren didn't seem to mean the same thing she meant when it came to weird memories.

"Guess I've just been too busy chasing after visions and memories out in the wastes. Doing suicidial stuff tends to get the blood pumping more than lounging in a cantina."

He raised the glass. "Well that's the truth right there. Guess I'm getting a little less suicidal in my old age, but plenty that keeps my blood pumping."
