The Dark Academy on Korriban

Civilian, spacer, eating while talking and that accent. There was something off about this girl, something Kristal didn't like. If only because she couldn't tell what it was. That all could likely be solved by making the proper inquiries to the right people. Which she might just do. For now however.

"You traveled with your family then? Where did you discover your sensitivity to the Force then?" she questions much like an interrogator in a way. Direct. However, she redirects a little and softens the blow. Pulling the punch. "At least I assume you are a fellow Acolyte and not one of the help?"

Kristal knew the answer to the second question of course.

A quick and polite laugh after the second question, and she speaks.

"Yes, my family. Was only a few of us." She paused for a moment, again.

"We discovered it when selling goods we'd picked up from Tatoiine on Dromund Kaas. I was speaking to a customer when an officer pulled me and my father aside." Her answers are delivered in a lighter tone than Kristal's. However, her question is worded just as directly.

"And you? I suppose your father was elated to learn his daughter would be sith."

Remmington decides to eat his food while he listens to the cross examination.

"Naturally," she offered, recalling the Holocall in which her and her father had spoken of the revelation.

For a moment Kristal seemed to study the girl. There was a coolness to her expression. Like she had just performed some precise maneuver. Having performed a conversational feint and then moved in for the kill, "Merchants? Then you have been to republic space?"

His meal being brought over, Khalim also observes the interrogation as he begins to eat.

"Naturally." She returned with a playful smirk. The moment of examination was shared.

However, as opposed to Kristal's cool expression, Nunki seemed to be very laid back. We're there anything to lean back on, she would be. She continued. "I've even been to Coruscant. Though only briefly as a young child. It is quite beautiful."

She mentally leans in. "Are you well traveled yourdelf? Maybe not to Republic lands, but with a father like yours I'm sure you've seen quite a bit of the Empire."

"Never, I have not left Dromun Kaas with the exception of Korriban," she said, crossing her arms in her lap. Leaving the remaining food in front of her unattended for now.

"So I've never been to Coruscant, describe it to me, what did you find so beautiful?" Kristal was setting up something, but she kept herself steady, cool.

...idiots. Less talk, more eating.

She shoveled some more food into her mouth as she casually glared at the conversational partners circling each other.

Don't slip.

"Being so young, I don't quite remember it too well. What I do remember, was beautiful." She said somewhat calmly.

Deflect.

She breaks the stare with Kristal, looking to the others gathered.

"Remmington, Khalim, I assume you haven't been to Republic space, but are you well travelled of the Empire?"

She does not look back to Kristal after asking.

While she didn't grin, didn't smirk, Kristal seemed quite pleased with herself as she measured Nunki's reaction. With Nunki running Kristal didn't need to maintain her front. Arms coming back up to the space in front of her the young Imperial returned to her meal. Orderly and precise.

Remmington nods as the deflection comes his way. "That is correct. I have visited a number of planets in Imperial Space and have been to Korriban a few times now. I will have to get you to tell me more about your travels sometime acolyte Malyna."

Pausing his meal, Khalim nods. "Indeed, Ms. Malyna. I have had the opportunity to visit a number of worlds; both long loyal and more recently subjugated."

He calmly takes a sip of his drink, as though considering something, and then continues, "I find the more recently subjugated worlds to be the most interesting. A mix of crushed rebellion and resigned obedience hangs in the air on those planets. ...or perhaps that's just the smell of burning Tibanna gas."

The words may have been a jab to test the outsider's discipline.

She smiles, saying "Perhaps in the near future, Remmington. Rarely a dull moment in travel."

To Khalim's statements, however, she raises an eyebrow. "To each their own, I suppose. Though subjagated worlds can be interesting, witnessing the intense conflict between cultures and ideologies. It can also produce some truly excellent warriors, for both sides of the conflict. It's something I intend to study further, if given the chance." She glances back to Kristal, then asks the group who'd gathered, "Are there any topics you're particularly interested about in the same vein? I may know a thing or too from my travels about it."

Remmington finishes his meal and nods. "Well feel free to contact me then."

After a pause he realizes something. "Oh right. I guess you'll need my Galactic Network ID (aka cell number). If anyone wants to exchange Galactic Network IDs I am willing to do so." He takes out his CommLink and quickly goes through the options to the point where they can exchange info.

Nunki nods, and takes her own out of her robe, scrolling to the option and offering her own info.

Remmington adds Nunki to his caller list and sets a nickname for her. He nods. "Thanks. Oh I should probably mention this but Korriban has 28 hours in a day. So it may take a little bit of getting used to."

"Living in space most of my life, it shouldn't be that difficult to adjust to. Time's hard to tell when all you've got is void." She smiles, then asks "Do they still use a 24 hour clock there despite that, or is Korriban on its own time?"

Remmington nods as it makes some sense. Captured space pirate. "They use 24 hour clocks since the galaxy operates on that. So you will probably have times when you are up during the day and it's completely dark outside."

Disregarding the fluff Kristal finished her meal. Glanced across those gathered, making a note of the faces. Lingering for a moment on the animalistic one of the gathered group and then promptly collected her things and saw herself off.

Even if they were stuck on this ship in transit she still had better uses of her time than sitting around here.
