“It’s in my notes you didn’t want. I gave the same information to Torsin, it was the only way to get the holocron. So it may be useful, it may not. Your choice,” she says.

"I never said I didn't want them. I'm not sure if it'd be useful if Torsin already knows. But give it to me anyway. I was hoping for something a little more obviously fatal for her, though."

“It is what it is,” she says and offers a data card.

“Do with it as you will.” The contents of the datacard have video of Rona speaking with an unknown third party via holo about Darth Baras and his secrets, nothing specific, and for payment relocation to Kaas City.

Upon having taken and seen the contents of the datacard, she leaned back against the wall, slowly sinking down to the floor until she was in an optimal-brooding seated position.

"I guess I could... try playing them against each other."

Veers smirks and says, “That is one way to handle this, yes.”

"Do you have any better ideas? Or if not that, some advice on how to handle it?"

She was growing tired of people smirking at her.

“What’s your goal?” she asks seriously.

“Hard to help if I don’t know what you are trying to achieve. Simple vengeance is pretty straight forward. Find her at a time that favors you and not her and end it. If it’s not that, then what?”

"That would be too simple. Besides, she's not coming with us to Yavin as far as I know, and who knows how many chances I'd have after that. Especially if this data is true. No. I was thinking... what if I could get Thaine to kill Torsin; thereby screwing with whatever plans Baras has made, making him then kill Thaine for interfering with those plans, while I sit back, free of all blame."

"Ambitious, so how do you arrange that?" she says.

"Torsin's probably going to blackmail her with this information. That's how he thinks; he doesn't gain anything from going straight to Baras with it. So what if..."

Her mind was still running through the possibilities.

"...what if I bring up that I have the same information. Suggesting I got it from Torsin. I bet she'd be pretty pissed at him for letting it slip after he's already blackmailing her with it. Plus, he's the star apprentice and she's... obviously not on good footing with Baras anymore. Not only should she be angry at him, but she should realize he's a big threat, right? Hell, I could throw in the fact that killing him would disrupt Baras' plans. Based on that recording, that might be exactly what she wants."

"Sounds plausible, at a minimum it could push her to get revenge at a later date," Veers agrees.

"Alright, then that's what we'll do," she said, happy that she wasn't alone in thinking it was a good plan; even if the person agreeing with it was really an ancient ghost.

Veers agrees and says, "It's a good plan, little cousin."

"You're just saying that to distract me from you deciding to keep the holocron," she said, though her voice lacked the usual angry accusatory cadence.

"You can try and take it, it won't end well for you," she says calmly.

"Fine," a sigh, "whatever. So. What are you going to do for Yavin? Any clues about what's going to happen there?"

“I am thinking of finding a nice quiet spot to work on my tan, I feel a little pale. I’ve never been to Yavin, is it nice?” Anya answers.

"No, I've never been there. All I really know is that its in the Gordian Reach. I think it's about halfway between Ziost and Mandalore. But anyway, I really doubt you're going to be able to get a tan there."

“Yes… I doubt I will either, that Torsin has poor taste in bodies. No musculature, no fierceness, all softeness. Pathetic,” she says with annoyance.

"Riiight."

What does any of that have to do with getting a tan?

"I don't think you ever told me how you got stuck in this body anyhow."

“I convinced Torsin to find some unfortunate take them to a place strong with the dark side and then allow me to take their body. He was exceedingly helpful, besides picking this weak body. At least one of the so-called pure bloods would have been preferable,” she says with a scowl.

That's pretty damn evil, Torsin...

"Exceedingly helpful so you wouldn't embarass him in public again. Thanks for that by the way."

“You’re welcome,” she says dryly.

"Well," she pushed herself back up. "I'd better go prepare for this stupid test they're administering. Let me know if you learn anything else from that holocron."
