The Dark Academy on Korriban

"Not all. And some use particular colors, which gives away who and what they are. Red tend to be Sith."

"Good to know," she said. "You use one?"

He nods, "I have received some instruction in their use. As shall you, I am sure."

Remmington nods. "It is not just colour. A lot of customization and personalization goes into a lightsaber. One can say that the saber is a reflection of the user."

Khalim smirks, "Color-coded for your convenience."

Remmington shrugs and puts up his hands. "Of course colour by the large is determined by crystal. So it largely depends on what kind of crystal you can get your hands on."

Crystal?

It all went over Layne's head; but she *was* learning. Even if it didn't seem like it to some.

"They don't give 'em to you?"

Remmington shakes his head. "One of the tests they will likely give us will be to build our own lightsaber. Which means we'll have to acquire them on our own somehow. Exploring ruins can bear some tremendous finds but are also extremely dangerous. The crystals will probably be the hardest part to find to create a lightsaber."

"Well that's stupid," she declared.

Mostly she just wanted to get the hell out of this insane mess. She *definitely* didn't want to go explore some dusty old ruins just to please the bunch of laser sword obsessed psychopaths that were pulling her strings.

"It will also be a way for the instructors to cull the herd." Remmington remarks.

"Do you have a preferred weapon then acolyte Hoshin?" He asks.

"Not one I'll be telling you about," she said.

Unlike the Sith, I'm not stupid.

He nods. At least she isn't a total idiot. "Well if you guys have any questions or wish to speak with me I'll give you my Galactic Network ID."

He takes out his CommLink after making that offer.

Khalim nods and produces his own commlink from one of the pouches on his utility belt.

"Seems a prudent enough idea."

He flips to his contact information to exchange with the human.

"This thing?"

She fished out the commlink they'd given her.

Gerald nodded and said, "You have my thanks, you're quite helpful."

He produced his own communicator.

Remmington exchanges info with everyone and sets up nicknames on his caller list. "Yup that is it." He nods to Layne.

"No worries. Korriban and the Academy can be a little daunting." He nods back to Gerald. "Thanks everyone." He finishes up and puts his CommLink away.

“The Sith are the pinnacle of Imperial power, I would not expect it to be easy to become one,” he said with a nod.

“Many of us will not rise to true power,” he added in a softer tone.

"Obviously," she said, followed by an eyeroll.

"While the prospect of having too many talented students is a nice ideal that has never happened and it is usually the opposite."
