The Dark Academy on Korriban

Since running around the jungle in the dark sounds like a great plan, Remmington finds himself out there anyways. He has a glow stick for light. "I guess that we are going to have to procure food on our own since the camp provided us with very little." He comments.

Of course he has scanner goggles so he doesn't need the glow stick.

"Some of us were intelligent enough to take rations with us," she said, rolling her eyes in the dark... unseen.

Unlike Remmington, she didn't have any fance goggles, but her own glow rod was plenty.

Seeing that Layne had her own light source he puts his glow rod away. "What have you been up to lately? Aside from falling out of the sky like everyone else I mean."

She sighed.

"You have an annoying habit of asking questions, Remmington."

Foliage got pushed aside.

"You don't see me asking these kinds of questions. And I don't see you volunteering information either."

More foliage got pushed aside.

"But if you must know. There were some tombs. More force creatures. And lots of implied threats all around. The usual."

"Well maybe but on the other hand you are not exactly striking up a conversation either Layne." Remmington comments.

"More Force creatures? Like the shade we fought before? Or do you mean a ghost or something?" He asks as he pushes branches out of the way as well.

"You really don't want to know."

"That bad huh?" Remmington comments. "So did you do anything about the overseer?"

OOC: Are you hunting?

"Oh she'll have things coming for her. Soon enough."

Assuming Thaine's actually keeping her word, that is.

((OOC: I figured we were exploring. Hunting works too... though Layne prefers finding weapons, secrets, and things to use over just another meal!))

Remmington nods. "Well I wish you luck with your plans then Layne." He looks around. "Hopefully we can find something useful."

Layne was the best at survival related things. At least, she was in her mind, until...

Survival upgraded difficulty: 2eA+2eD+1eC 1 failure, 2 advantage, 1 Despair

The duo make their way through thick jungle only to feel the earth give way and a mud slide sends them both careening into a broad river and tick rapids. They are soaked and being sent careening what looks like a large waterfall some hundred meters and quickly approaching.

OOC: Both need to make Athletics rolls at Hard difficulty with an Upgrade from the GM, because waterfalls!

It had been Layne's stupid ass fault. A single wrong step and suddenly the ground started crumbling, violently depositing them into a river and threathening yet more bodily harm up ahead. Her survival instincts *finally* kicked in and she started swimming toward the nearest shore. Good thing her equipment was tightly secured to her body, or this would've been a very bad day.

Athletics/Brawn upgraded die: 1eA+2eP+2eD+1eC 3 successes, 1 threat

Remmington is caught by surprise when the ground suddenly gives way under way and they are both thrown into the river. Having experience with this sort of thing he sets to swimming to shore as quickly as he can.

"You know... it's always interesting whenever I hang out with you Layne." He somewhat wishes he had his spacesuit on right now but the thing would be way too stuffy.

Athletics/Brawn. Dapper upgraded. 2eA+1eP+2eD+1eC = 2 successes, 1 Despair

OOC: Despair activated, Remmington is safe but on Day 10 will have a terrible fever and suffers a setback die to all rolls.

"Over here," Layne called out as she made her way to shore.

/ Will that be treatable by med droids or he simply will get over it after D10? /

"I'll be right there." Remmington calls out as he heads over. He takes off his top to wring it out. There are some nasty scars on his chest. He puts his top back on after getting some of the water out of it.

"Here I thought I was done with falling for the day."

"You should've been more careful," she said... glossing over the fact that this was probably totally her fault.

"Right. So where do we head now?" Remmington asks as he scans the area switching his scanner goggles between night vision and various light spectrum.

"Don't ask me. You're the one with the fancy headgear."

He catches sight of something dangling from a tree. About twenty meters up with an easy climb.

OOC: Athletics at Easy to get up there.

Following Remmington's gaze, she pre-empted any attempt by him to get up there and... failed. The weight of her wet clothes and the slipperiness threw her off balance.

"Well, shit."
