The Dark Academy on Korriban

He looks at him for a long moment, narrowing his eyes questioningly and tilting his head. "Are you not close friends? Must have been pretty bad. Well, I won't get between you two."

He nodded, "Quite close... as close as a man and woman can be... the problems arise from that kind of relationship."

"Moyr's call?" he says looking at him.

He nodded. "I told her about it... she wasn't pleased with my honesty... well, that's not true... she wasn't pleased with my actions."

He looked down, "Understandably so of course... so I'm letting her work it out a bit."

"I could tell the first time I met her she wasn't one for that type of stuff," he says plainly. "Did she tell you about the first time we met?"

He shook his head 'no'.

"It was in the refresher. At the academy. I was relaxing and naked. She called me an animal, which is truer now than it was then. But we conversed and I came to understand her sense of loyalty and service well over that conversation," he replies. "I'm sure you know better than me, but if you broke that you are on one of the toughest uphill battles to fix it I can imagine."

He nodded, "It'll be a slug-fest... mostly her slugging me. But I've got 15 years of beatings behind me, what's 15 more?"

"Fifteen years of beatings," he replies flatly. "And fifteen years for her to potentially find someone else she considers worth her loyalty before you regain it. It is not a given. For your sake I hope you have a chance. For her sake I hope she does not take a worse lesson from this."

"I don't intend to let her." He said with resolve.

"It is not about you letting her. It is about you showing her. But I imagine that as long as the source of your indiscretion remains in the picture, it will do nothing to alleviate her concerns or help her come to terms," Zeno replies. "I don't envy you that position. The likelihood of me ending up wanting to make amends with Jun-Tsu are nigh zero. And she appears to have gotten what she wished. I don't have that issue like you do."

Sylvain nodded, "I am well aware of the course back... though I don't know if I ever could get back to the same romantic intimacy... If I can prove to her that I am her friend and can be trusted, that is all I would want. My intention included that vision."

Zeno nods. "At least she's not trying to kill you, like I am considering Jun-Tsu. Though, again, I can't read minds so that may not be true." Usually he might chuckle at that. Right now... not really.

He chuckled, "I can... but don't want to read her's right now."

"So you learned that? I practiced reading intent rather than thought. More effective for use in battle," he replies, changing the subject.

"Knowing thoughts and intent are both useful in my line of work. As well as learning to shape them to my purposes."

"For me, knowing when and where an enemy intends to strike is a far more pressing concern. Holding their attacks at bay and avoiding them gives me more opportunity to exploit their weaknesses in battle."
