Grenda took careful aim, but just as she pulled the trigger a small rock fell from the column support she'd knocked down a few seconds before. Her blaster bolt hit it perfectly and showered her target with rock fragments.

The twi’lek gritted his teeth and worked away at the panel and then… it became active and not only was it active it was giving him exactly what he needed! What he needed was to not die so he found internal controls and then a shimmering field of purple cut across the chamber cutting him off from the rest.

The twi’lek looks back at his allies and for a moment he and the Jedi know what must be done. He is strained and torn, but this was always a dangerous mission. He would miss her, but this was bigger than two people.

This was war.

OOC: The slicer uses Triumph to grant him ray shielding from the rest of the combat, he is still at extreme range, long range to Layne and the field is at medium range to Layne just behind the marines trying to kill her. End of Round 2. Slicer suffers 2 more wounds for a total of 3. Marines #1 now at 7 wounds taken.

The Jedi spun her weapon as she focused all her will on putting down the Sith. Her weapon spun expertly and so emboldened by her ferocity her allies were reassured that even if they died here today they were going to make the Empire remember this!

The blades spin and twist and then came the strike! It is vicious and brutal.

Meanwhile the Marines are terrified but fire their weapons and even in such a state they find their target, but the fear is getting to them… this is not going to end well.

OOC: 9 damage Breach 1, spending 2 Advantage to use Linked so that is two hits for 9 damage. With the last advantage being used to Boost the roll of her next ally. Layne takes 6 wounds after Soak, they used Aim as a free maneuver as did the Jedi.

Soldiers at her front, and a jedi at her back that's no longer dealing with Kristal. Choices, choices...

...She went for the Jedi; closing the distance between them while shouting at the Rodian.

"Keep 'em occupied!"

The blade screamed as it made contact with the Jedi's own lightsaber and no doubt inflict the terror associated with facing both a weapon never seen before, and the certain knowledge of one's own imminent demise. A quick painless kick to the Wookie caused the alien to falter for just a moment, not enough to provide Layne with an advantage, but enough to instill yet more doubt in the remaining republic soldiers; enough for Grenda to get some small advantage.

Lightsaber/Brawn, (blade of woe, setback removed), DESTINY, upgraded, two weapon fighting: 1eA+3eP+2eD+1eC 4 successes, 1 threat

She had been about to answer the Wookie's growls towards her with traditional Rodian sarcasm, but Layne beat her to it, so she shot the Marines instead. This time she waited to make sure no rocks were falling before she pulled the trigger and was rewarded with a hit to a Republic helmet, her target span away getting in the way of its compatriots shots.

The carbine blast takes down another marine with ease as they return fire shifting their aim to the terrifying Sith who just cut down the Jedi with deadly accuracy nearly blinding themselves to all other concerns!

Meanwhile the slicer seeing his friend cut in two decides to duck into a shadowed tunnel and make his escape with tears in his eyes.

OOC: The marines #2 take two threat and suffer a setback die. Layne suffers 8 more wounds after soak. The marines are at 14 wounds and lose another marine. Twi'lek slicer uses a maneuver to run into a passage. End of Round 3.

She put the fall of her comrades into the proper Sith context. Anger. Anger at the Republic and the filth they sent here to interfere with the Sith's endeavours.

The shot was masterful as it plowed through both marines! Then there was only one squad left. The slicer keeps hustling out of sight meanwhile there is an explosion in the wall nearest the other remaining remains.

They fire their blasters, more to keep the rodian in cover than kill her.

OOC: Spending a Destiny for the Marines to find an escape route up to Grenda if she wants to chase them down or help her allies.

The flurry of shots had her ducking down behind her cover. When she could look up again the marines were gone . . . or at least out of view. With a hiss her lightsaber ignited and she covered the distance to the others quickly.

She stood over Layne, bathing her in the red light of the shoto in her hand.

"Well now. Isn't this an opportunity?!?!?!"

She glanced across at Kristal as well and laughed.

"You'll both owe me, and I will collect. That is a promise."

She stabbed down at Layne . . . with her offhand, engaging the stimpak in that hand on Little Wrath, before walking over to Kristal and unhooking her medpack from her belt.

"At least a lightsaber wound is self cauterising, but you'll need a surgeon anyway."

"You humans only have one heart, yes? Is it on the right or left of the chest, I can never remember?"

She prepared a stimulant injector, a little more friendly than a stimpak but unfortunately had to be administered carefully.

Assuming she could right there and then, she would remove the crystal. Otherwise, she was taking the saber to remove it later.

She huffed and guessed on human heart location. The needle went in and administered the drugs and then she moved to spray the lightsaber wounds with kolto disinfectant before looking for bandages appropriate.

The stimpak was reserved for if the other drugs had not worked.

Guessing I get some conflict for saving the party, rather than chasing down the Marinea as well.

With the stimulant, fast acting as it would going straight to the heart, Kristal jumped up as she came too. Rising to about a seated position before she came back down. Eyes darting around as she made sense of it all.

Last she saw was the swinging blade of a lightsaber... again.

After a few moments she settled enough for Grenda to finish what she was doing. Everything hurt and it was hard piecing all that happened together. For now, she rested on the cold floor.

She packed away the small emergency medkit and tossed the stimpak back to Layne.

"Didn't need it. Seems I . . . or perhaps she was lucky on my fifty/fifty guess."
