This is my personal predilection, but Spellcraft 5 if you have points for it. It's 1k0 to everything you cast, and the importuning/spell research extravaganza can be your thing.

I've not found Spellcraft 5 to be essential, but I've only played shugenja in low-rank games. Defense is your friend since you'll be in defensive stance in combat most of the time. Also spend the points on memorising your key spells.

Speaking of L5R and shugenja (and I'm guessing the question might be related); there's a Ferretverse game starting in a couple of weeks.

I'm bringing my portable anthromorphized explosion.

edit: who does in fact have spellcraft 5 despite being a complete moron (she also has jijutsu 5!)

Wow, I didn't noticed the mastery 5 for Spellcraft. Yep, that's a thing one should acquire. Defense and memorizing. That sounds logical as well.

I was asking because of Ferretverse. I think I will play a shugie for the first time...well It depends how many people are going to play as Shugenjas. If not, I will play a courtier.

Ferretverse isn't usually as big a game as HT; so I don't think you should feel compelled to not play one on that account. Especially given the premise.

Also, going through my sheet from Dragon's Gift... I have no idea how/why I have some of the things on it. Why do I have Artisan: Novels 1? Why do I have so many items of tea despite not knowing how to tea ceremony? What the hell is a Young Betta?

This was a wonderful crash coarse for newbies to the system. Very Topaz Championship à la star wars.

I absolutely adore playing this game. It was and is and will hopefully continue to be an amazing experience.

I need to plot out the future but I would like to do Nar Shaddaa.

I think I shall give the Ferretverse game a miss. L5R still has a very sour taste to me at present and I've struggled to even do non event threads here.

I can dig it.

I'll also be sitting out the upcoming game, and possibly the one after that depending on when, now that school's kicking up a bit.

Ferretverse is not for me.

But I will gladly play more Star Wars. I've said it before, but this game was exactly what I needed after The Wall, and I'm very grateful to Dapper for running it.

I'm too much of an RP junkie to skip over a game.

Which isn't exactly a bad thing, feel like I've been doing better and better at managing this whole PbP stuff each and every game I join.

I will always play more Star Wars because it's Star Wars.

Also because Dapper is amazing, but also because Star Wars.

This game has been a nice new experience for me (barring trollokos ) playing a different system and in a different setting has been awesome.
