The Dark Academy on Korriban

"Again, you can consider it my betray if you want, but I wasn't the only student there and I didn't ask him to come. I did ask Moyr... she didn't get turned into a rend or whatever," Zeno replies. "So you're aiming your spite at the wrong person. But you can believe what you want."

"You and Zash betrayed him. It was all what was left of him could think about. So remember that what you thought of as nothing was the worst thing possible from someone else's point of view." Jo'ren shrugged. "It surprises me to say this but I don't have any 'spite' for you Zeno. In some ways I pity you. I can see where this will all lead. It's like a sith opera."

He held out the flask towards Zeno.

"Once you start betraying people, you end up getting betrayed. That's life. But we fought on the same side today, and we fought well. So let's drink to that right now, and let the future tend to itself."

"The future will certainly do that," he replies, accepting the offered flask and swigging from it. "It was well fought. But then, if the universe were fair, we should be expecting a massassi retaliation that wipes us out. Don't see that happening."

Jo'ren chuckled at that. "Who said the universe was fair?" He popped another piece of the meat into his mouth. "Then again, the Jedi didn't see us coming. Maybe we should keep an eye on our new friends."

He turned to look at the festivities and enjoyed the fierceness with which they celebrated. Perhaps this was what the sith had been like back on Korriban.

"Nobody did," Zeno replied, taking one more small swig before handing the flask back. "It drew me to Zash after all. And that's gonna lead to her trying to kill me someday... probably. I'm sure I'll eventually say something to her she won't tolerate. All we can do is continue to gain power and strength enough to be victorious when we are tested."

"Zeno seems to be an implicit proponent of 'keep your friends close, enemies closer' adage."

Moyr commented ironically, nibbling on a slice of jerky. Even if it was meat from a sentient, it was very unlikely a fellow Twi'lek, so she felt absolved.

If it was meat from his own leg, he'd probably not care. The sith-blood nods at that. "Definitely. Getting close to an enemy..."

He is a bit tipsy by this point, it sounds like.

"Then maybe there's hope for you yet." He shrugged and sipped more of the wonderful wine.

"You're already plotting your master's downfall then? I'll drink to that."

"Just sticking to tradition," he says with a return toast.

"Zash's downfall, that's a worthy toast if I know one."

Moyr took the skin from Jo'ren's hands to take a solid jolt.

He was never one for betrayal, but Zash had practically said that he was a useful tool. A preferred one that he had put work into cultivating, but still not something she wouldn't throw away for power.

"She's got a wealth of lore to learn from, which by necessity will require me to get close to her to learn," he replies. "But I'm only less expendable to her than others. So it is what it is and she's got a hard'on for revenge against my comrades."

"Has she already sent you after something, if it's no secret?"

Moyr grew curious.

"She hasn't given me any details," he says. "But we're heading out for a while after the graduation. Dantooine in Republic space. Hope it's gonna be more exciting than just collecting data." He takes another drink, leaning his head back and looking at the sky.

"A nice, gentle world. But close to the Unknown Regions."

Moyr idly remarked. At least it was not connected to their own nebula search.

"Yeah. Doesn't sound super exciting," he says with a shrug. "But who knows."

"I'm sure you'll make it exciting." He took another sip of the wine and looked up at the stars.

"I like Yavin. Maybe I'll come back for a while."

"I liked it the first time too. Glad I came back," he said with a slightly tipsy nod.

"I'll take Yavin with me."

Moyr grinned cryptically, then looked toward the jungle longingly, as if she had just heard a feral call.
